Abstract

Abstract The development of halal culinary micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Indonesia has demonstrated significant growth as part of the Islamic economic ecosystem. However, behind this positive trend lies a challenge regarding the implementation of environmentally friendly waste management practices. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the growth of halal culinary MSMEs and employees’ green innovation behaviour, while exploring the role of halal-thayyib values as a catalyst for green innovation in waste management. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through a literature review, utilizing secondary data from reputable national and international journals, reference books, and official reports related to the topic. The findings indicate that the development of halal culinary MSMEs has the potential to shape employees’ green innovation behaviour by internalizing halal-thayyib values within the organizational culture. These values serve not only as a standard for Shariah compliance but also as an adaptive dynamic capability that fosters responsiveness to sustainability challenges. Furthermore, waste management practices in halal culinary MSMEs should adopt a circular economy approach, shifting from a linear waste disposal model to one that creates value from waste. This study contributes theoretically by offering an integrative framework that combines halal-thayyib values, green innovation behaviour, and circular economy principles within the context of the halal sector. The practical implications are expected to provide strategic recommendations for business owners, policymakers, and stakeholders in fostering an environmentally conscious and sustainable halal business ecosystem. Keywords: Halal Culinary MSMEs, Halal-Thayyib, Waste Management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening halal supply chain management in the digital era using the Sharia Value Chain (SVC) approach. The focus lies on transparency, data integrity, and distribution speed within the context of digital transformation. The research employs a qualitative method with a descriptive-analytical approach based on literature, reinforced by a normative framework through maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah. The findings reveal that key challenges include the lack of integrated digital systems across halal institutions, limited digital literacy among business actors, and weak halal verification across supply chain stages. The SVC provides a strategic solution by embedding values of honesty, responsibility, and sustainability through the implementation of maqāṣid principles such as hifẓ al-dīn and hifẓ al-māl. The adoption of technologies such as blockchain, IoT, and cloud computing enhances the transparency and accountability of the halal system. This research contributes to the development of a halal supply chain management model rooted in Islamic values and supports national halal industry policies toward an efficient, ethical, and digital system.

Abstract

Economic growth refers to efforts to increase the capacity for producing goods and services in order to achieve higher output, which is measured using the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) or the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) within a specific region. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of unemployment, poverty, and per capita expenditure on economic growth in BOSOWASI, using cross-section and time series data from 2014 to 2023 obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (Badan Pusat Statistik/BPS). The method used in this study is quantitative, employing a panel data regression analysis approach. The results show that, partially (t-test), the variables unemployment and poverty have a negative but insignificant effect, while per capita expenditure has a positive and significant effect on economic growth in BOSOWASI. However, simultaneously (F-test), the variables unemployment, poverty, and per capita income have a significant effect on economic growth. These findings indicate that the government must continue to enhance productive activities to sustain and improve existing economic growth, thereby addressing and overcoming the challenges and issues in regional economic development.

Abstract

Indonesia, as the world's largest Muslim-majority nation, represents a unique case in integrating Sharī‘ah principles into national legal frameworks, particularly in the regulation of halal products. With more than 86 percent of its population adhering to Islam, the demand for halal assurance is not merely a matter of religious observance but a fundamental consumer right embedded within both moral philosophy and constitutional Law. This article explores the philosophical and legal foundations of halal product legislation in Indonesia through a dual perspective—Sharī‘ah and positive Law. The study employs a normative-empirical approach grounded in maqāṣid al-sharī‘ah analysis and legal positivism, examining how these epistemic frameworks converge in Law No. 33 of 2014 concerning Halal Product Assurance (Undang-Undang Jaminan Produk Halal, UU JPH). It further analyzes the institutional synergy between the Ministry of Religious Affairs, the Halal Product Assurance Organizing Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Produk Halal, BPJPH), and the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), assessing their shared role in enforcing ethical-economic equilibrium. Empirical data from 2019 to 2025 reveal that Indonesia's halal-certified products and exports have increased significantly, reflecting the effectiveness of the hybrid regulatory model. The findings highlight that the Indonesian halal system, while rooted in Islamic jurisprudence, also embodies constitutional rationality, where the State plays an active role in safeguarding the moral economy through Law. Ultimately, this research concludes that Indonesia's halal legislation manifests the synthesis of divine command ethics and public policy rationalism, symbolizing the philosophical unity between religion and State in protecting human dignity and consumer welfare.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence and contribution of Islamic economic thought on the development of modern economics from theoretical, practical, and philosophical aspects. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through library research, by reviewing classical and contemporary literature relevant to Islamic economic theory, its historical development, and its application in the global economic context. The results of the study indicate that Islamic economic thought plays a significant role in forming the foundation of modern economic theory through the concept of equitable wealth distribution, stable and inclusive Islamic financial principles, and the application of business ethics based on the values of honesty, justice, and social responsibility. In addition, Islamic economic instruments such as zakat, waqf, sukuk, and microfinance institutions have proven effective in addressing inequality, increasing financial inclusion, and promoting sustainable development. These findings emphasize that the integration of Islamic values in the global economic system is not merely a normative alternative, but a strategic necessity in creating a just, inclusive, sustainable, and welfare-oriented economic order.
