Abstract

The study was designed to assess whether there is a relationship between physical activity and blood pressure and blood glucose in the elderly at Posyandu Bangsalsari. This research is a type of non-experimental research with a cross-sectional study design and uses a descriptive quantitative approach based on correlation. The population in this study were elderly people who were in the Bansalsari Posyandu Lansia with a total of 20 elderly people aged 60 to 75 years, 5 men and 15 women. Data analysis techniques include descriptive analysis, namely numerical data that can be categorized and categorical will be presented frequency distribution using percentage values. The result is that the average blood pressure is in the normal category with mean systolic and diastolic values of 137.75 mmHg and 85.8 mmHg respectively. While the average blood glucose was in the moderate category at 156 mg/dl. Physical activity was identified to have a significant relationship with blood pressure, both systolic and diastolic and blood glucose (sig. < 0.05). The negative correlation with r values = - 0.594, -0.592, - 0.663 implies that the higher the physical activity, the lower the blood pressure and blood glucose. Therefore, it is recommended that the elderly of Posyandu Bangsalsari have regularity in physical activity that can help stabilize and reduce blood pressure and blood glucose.

Abstract

Incidents of injuries that were experienced by track and field athletes in training and matches that are not handled properly. As a result, injury recovery is not always ideal, putting athletes at risk for more serious injuries. This study aims to evaluate the types and treatment of injuries that occur in athletes from the Indonesian Athletics Association (PASI) in East Java Province. This research was conducted in cross-sectional with descriptive and comparative data analysis methods. There were 141 athletic athletes aged 17.97 ± 2.314 years participated in this study. Different test analysis was carried out based on gender, age, and number of competitions that were followed. The instrument used is a questionnaire whose statement items have been tested for validity using Pearson Product Moment and show valid results (p-value <0.05). The results of the normality test showed that the data did not have a normal distribution (p-value <0.05). The non-parametric test showed no significant differences in the perception of injury management based on gender, age, and match number (p-value > 0.05). Furthermore, on the athlete's knowledge, the majority of athletes still believe in traditional handling and do not know first aid for injuries using the Rest, Ice, Compression and Elevation (RICE) method.

Abstract

Background: Evidence shows that the level of physical activity of adolescents in the world is still very lacking, while physical activity itself has a holistic effect, both physically and mentally, including on one's life satisfaction. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between physical activity and student life satisfaction. Methods: Correlational research was used in this study. A total of 58 students of Jogoroto 1 Junior High School (JHS) consisting of 29 boys and 29 girls. SLSS and IPAQ-SF instruments were used in this study and data analysis techniques used descriptive statistics and Spearman's rho rank correlation test. Results: he correlation test results showed a positive correlation coefficient and significance less than 0.05 between physical activity and student's life satisfaction, both in terms of METs value (r=0.875, p=0.000<0.05) and physical activity category (r=0.929, p=0.000<0.05). Conclusions: There is a significant correlation between physical activity and student's life satisfaction. The higher the level of physical activity, the higher the level of student's life satisfaction.

The research for aerobic endurance on low impact aerobic gymnastic obtained increased an average of 1,85 ml/kg/min and the average yoga 1,7 ml/kg/min. to health stress on low impact aerobic gymnastics occur an decrease amount to 5,5 points and yoga of 7,65 points. Next to the t-test results obtained, there was a significant difference in increase influence on health stress (P<0,05) and aerobck endurance there was no significant difference in its increase (P>0,05). So that the low impact aerobic gymnastics further enhance aerobic endurance and yoga further decrease of stress level that enhance health stress.

Abstract

The problem is that women aged 40-50 years experience psychological changes such as decreased levels of concentration and cognitive function, especially for a worker. The aim is to determine the level of concentration and cognitive function of working women aged 40-50 years following Zumba and yoga exercises. Observational research method with cross sectional design. The research subjects were 20 working women aged 40-50 years, using a purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used a concentration grid exercise questionnaire and a mini mental state examination. The result is that the Zumba class has very little concentration (60%) and less concentration (40%). The yoga class has very less concentration (20%) and less concentration (80%). The results of the Zumba class cognitive function tests in the normal category have a percentage (60%) and the probable category of cognitive impairment (40%). The results of cognitive function in the yoga class in the normal category have a percentage of (90%) and the probable category of cognitive impairment (10%). In conclusion, the concentration level of working women aged 40-50 years is mostly in the very low concentration category. Abstract

This study aims to compare the effect of aerobic dance accompanied by traditional and modern music on increasing the cardiovascular endurance of students. The research design used was a quasi-experiment with a pretest-posttest group design. The sample consisted of 40 students of Makassar State University who were divided into two groups: an aerobic dance group with traditional South Sulawesi music and an exercise group with popular modern music. The exercise was carried out for six weeks, three times a week, for 45 minutes per session. Data were collected through a multistage test (beep test) to measure VO₂ max and analyzed using parametric statistical tests. The results showed that both groups experienced a significant increase in cardiovascular endurance (p < 0.05). However, a greater increase occurred in the traditional music group (Δ = 3.34) than in the modern music group (Δ = 2.39). These findings indicate that traditional music accompaniment is more effective in increasing cardiovascular endurance and providing added value in the context of preserving local culture.

Abstract

Kabaddi is a complex game with high intensity, where each player must have good aerobic and anaerobic capacity. Considering the playing position, body composition needs to be taken into account, because ideal body composition is a determining factor in an athlete's performance. This study aims to determine the body composition of kabaddi players and compare the characteristics of muscle mass (kg) and fat percentage (%) between raiders and defenders. This study uses a comparative quantitative method with a sample size of 19 kabaddi athletes from East Java. Body composition measurements were taken using InBody H20, which measures muscle mass and fat percentage. Data analysis was performed using the t-test with the help of SPSS software. The results of this study showed that there was no significant difference in muscle mass between raiders and defenders (p=0.223), and there was no significant difference in fat percentage (p=0.930). The conclusion is that even though the raider and defender positions have different roles, the balance between muscle mass and body fat percentage is one of the factors that supports optimal performance. Due to the complementary and dynamic playing patterns in kabaddi, athletes from both positions have almost equivalent physical requirements, which leads to similar body compositions.
