Abstract

This study plans to decide the impact of relational correspondence, authoritative culture, and accomplishment inspiration on hierarchical responsibility. This research uses a quantitative approach through strategic studies. The number of inhabitants in this review was generally educators coming from state secondary schools in Madura island. In the interim, the example was those one hundred and seventy-five educators taken by the complete testing method. The exploration instrument utilizing poll and the information was handled and investigated by way examination, beginning with the several prerequisites examination test. Abstract

Local culture everywhere presents meaning space as a guideline for people’s lives, even the presence of tradition can be a medium of social transformation. The tandhe’ as one of the local cultural treasures in Sumenep Madura, emerged as an appreciation of past civilizations that believe that tandhe’ is not a mere spectacle but also as a communication medium that contains the values of goodness. Signs implicitly or explicitly important to learn because it often contains the essence of da’wah which calls on humans to remember God. Tandhe’ as a manifestation of local wisdom will be an effective communication medium for building communities when properly packaged, because cultural anomalies can occur at any time. The researcher uses a qualitative approach in the form of field research so that researchers can directly make observations and even participate in contributing ideas as feedback from informants ideas. The presence of tandhe’ has until now experienced a shift in the function and purpose of tandh’ itself. The ancient kings tandhe’ functioned as the media for the propaganda used by Walisongo in order to spread the teachings of Islam. The religious value of the tandhe’ began to fade because the lovers of the tandhe’ began to abandon the teachings taught by the Walisongo. Tandhe’ at the moment is more dominant in the nature of entertainment which aims only for worldly purposes only. Tandhe’ essentially has a symbolic communication used by Walisongo in preaching Islam to the community which is also a symbol of tirakat by human.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the shape and meaning of the architectural design of the Buton house both from an emic and ethical perspective. The focus of the problem was: (1). What was the shape and pattern of the house layout of the Butonese people? (2). What was the meaning of the traditional house architecture of the Butonese people? The data were obtained through a series of interviews, non-participant observation, and document review. All data were analyzed through some stages: formulation of questions, making descriptive narratives, data reduction, application, and interpretation, then concluding. Based on an analysis of the research problem, the following conclusions were obtained: (1). The shape of the Buton house had an aesthetic meaning related to belief or the dimension of religiosity, in this case, Islam; (2). The patron or pattern of the Butonese house building had become part of their system of thinking, so that eventually it became something standards, such as the standard of spatial structure, shape, structure, and ornamentation. In subsequent developments, there appeared to be an internal effort by the Butonese to provide a new perspective on the meaning of the Buton house, leading to interpretations oriented to Islamic values. The form of houses on stilts as depicted in malige and kamali by the local community was interpreted as a replica of a Muslim performing the prayer ritual. The model of a tiled roof was analogous to the composition or position when he was praying, where the place of the right hand was above the left hand. Whereas in the perspective of political power, the tiled roof was a symbol of political and religious unity. Pineapple ornaments played a role as a symbol of monotheism. This symbol also is a manifestation of the religious ethics Butonese, who always direct their life to the values ​​of monotheism.

Abstract

There are two problems in the result of research that will be discussed in this article. They are (1) how are the steps of the implementation of suggestopedia method in learning speaking English at the second semester students of E class TBI STAIN Pamekasan and (2) How are the increasing of speaking English skill for the second semester students of E class TBI STAIN Pamekasan in learning speaking English by using the suggestopedia method. The research method is classroom action research by using research strategy of Kemmis and Mc Taggert Model which consist of four (4) steps, namely planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. The result of research provided that classically for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd cycle indicated the increasing of students learning completeness scores, each of them are 38.23%, 67.54%, and 82.35%. While the students performance for each aspects are increasing from the 1st cycle up to 3rd cycle. The students performance of speaking English activities in the classroom from each aspects that more appear was grammar with score 85.2%. for the 2nd cycle was comprehensibility with score 88.2% and vocabulary with score 88.2%, and for the 3rd  cycle that more appear was fluency with score 91.2%.  Besides, for the frequency percentage of students performance from each cycles are more increasing, by the 1st  cycle 55% (enough), the 2nd cycle 70% (good), and the 3rd cycle 85% (very good). Finally, the suggestopedia method in learning speaking English can increase the result of students learning. In fact, the students look like be enthusiastic in learning speaking English. The students were active to joint with this subject from each cycle. By the good atmosphere, conducive situation of the classroom, and soft music made the students to be relax in learning the subject. It also was increase imagination, concentration, and liveliness for the students.

Abstract

This article is a summary of a group research describing the implementation of scientific approach in teaching English of Curriculum 2013 at SMPN 1 Pamekasan. Scientific approach is an approach focusing on investigation techniques on  phenomena, getting new knowledge, or correcting and relating the previous knowledge. Scientific approach is a new approach in teaching English. This research has three study focuses that is: 1) How the English teachers  of the seventh grade plan English learning process by using scientific approach 2) How the implemntation of scientific approach in teaching English of Curriculum 2013 at SMPN 1 Pamekasan 3) What problems or difficulties faced by the English teachers in implementing the scientific approach. The Research result shows  the first,  English teachers of the seventh grade at SMPN 1 Pamekasan plan their English learning process by writing the lesson plan first. Second, the implementation of scientific approach in teaching English of Curriculum 2013 at SMPN 1 Pamekasan on the first year does not run well. Third, most of English teachers of the seventh grade at SMPN 1 Pamekasan get difficulties in facilitating the students to ask and answer the   questions to their friends or teacher. It means that the teachers still get difficulties in questioning step of scientific approach.

Abstract

Keterampilan mendengarkan bahasa inggris yang diucapkan secara verbal (Spoken English) merupakan salah satu keterampilan yang ada dalam English Language Skills. Memahami kata atau kalimat bahasa Inggris yang diucapkan oleh penutur asli (Native Speaker) merupakan suatu persoalan yang sangat komplek yang dihadapi oleh yang belajar bahasa kedua khususnya mahasiswa semester III TBI STAIN Pamekasan. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu pertama, mendeskripsikan tekhnik yang digunakan dosen dalam mengajar Listening Comprehension. Kedua, merumuskan problematika yang dihadapi mahasiswa semester III TBI STAIN Pamekasan dalam belajar Listening Comprehension. Ketiga, merumuskan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kesulitan dalam belajar Listening Comprehension. Keempat, merumuskan cara mengatasi masalah-masalah tersebut. Hasil Penelitian ini membahas tentang problematika pembelajaran Listening Comprehension pada mahasiswa semester III TBI STAIN Pamekasan karena pada kenyataannya hasil belajar mereka masih jauh dari standart. Oleh karena itu, problemsolving dalam pembelajaran Listening Comprehension ini diharapkan akan meminimalisir masalah yang dihadapi mahasiswa dalam proses belajarnya sehingga mendapat hasil belajar yang memuaskan.

Abstract

Berdasarkan realitas yang sering dijumpai bahwa kehidupan masyarakat Barurambat di kabupaten Pamekasan, tentang partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemeliharaan atau pelestarian lingkungan masih tergolong rendah, tidak peduli dengan lingkungan sekitarnya dan lokasi tertentu yang terlihat kotor dan kumuh. Tujuan penelitiannya yaitu untuk mengetahui: (1) hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang lingkungan hidup dengan partisipasi masyarakat Barurambat kabupaten Pamekasan dalam pelestarian lingkungan; (2) hubungan antara etika lingkungan hidup dengan partisipasi anggota masyarakat Barurambat dalam pelestarian lingkungan hidup; dan (3) hubungan antara pengetahuan tentang lingkungan dan etika lingkungan secara bersama-sama dengan partisipasinya dalam pelestarian lingkungan hidup di Barurambat kabupaten Pamekasan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian korelasional yang bertujuan untuk mencari hubungan variabel bebas terhadap variabel terikat. Sampel populasi penelitian ini adalah anggota masyarakat khususnya di wilayah Barurambat Pamekasan yang berjumlah 441 orang, dengan menggunakan teknik random sampling. Data penelitian dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner. Data penelitian dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis regresi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) ada hubungan positif antara pengetahuan tentang lingkungan dengan parisipasi dalam pelestarian lingkungan dalam masyarakat Barurambat kota Pamekasan yang ditunjukkan dengan besaran korelasi antara X1 dan Y yaitu dilihat dari koefisien Beta (β), menunjukkan bahwa H1 diterima, sehingga  terdapat hubungan yang positif antara variabel pengetahuan (X1 ) dengan partisipasi (Y) secara sangat signifikan; (2) pengaruh variabel etika lingkungan di samping sangat signifikan, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat hubungan yang positif antara variable etika lingkungan (X2 ) dengan partisipasi (Y); (3) setiap kenaikan satu unit rata-rata pengetahuan dan etika lingkungan secara bersama-sama, akan diikuti kenaikan partisipasi sebesar 2.77, sehingga memiliki relevansi yang sangat signifikan.

Abstract

Tradisi oto’-oto’ merupakan tradisi khas etnis Madura yang berjalan secara turun menurun, semakin lama semakin banyak pengikutnya dan semakin luas jangkauan wilayahnya hingga di kota Surabaya. Tradisi ini dilaksanakan oleh masyarakat yang berhimpun dalam kelompok organisasi informal. Prinsip dasar oto’-oto’ adalah setiap anggota menyerahkan sejumlah uang kepada yang lungguh (penyelenggara). Jumlah uang yang diserahkan tidak ditentukan besarannya dan uang yang telah diserahkan adalah “simpanan” dan baru bisa dinikmati ketika kelak dia lungguh.  Penelitian difokuskan pada tiga hal, yaitu; Bagaimana pemahaman masyarakat urban Madura terhadap tradisi oto’-oto’; Bagaimana Sistem penyelenggaraannya di tengah-tengah masyarakat urban kota Surabaya yang sangat kompleks; dan bagaimana integrasi sosial masyarakat urban asal Madura melalui tradisi oto’-oto’ tersebut. Melalui tradisi ini masyarakat etnis Madura di Surabaya dapat mengekspresikan eksistensi dirinya dalam masyarakat majemuk. Mereka dapat membangun solidaritas sosial, mengembangkan kerjasama bisnis, serta mampu menjalin integrasi sosial antar etnis Madura maupun dengan etnis lainnya yang ada di kota Surabaya.

Abstract

Seaweed is one of the marine resources as capital for livelihood development in addition to the fishermen catch fish. Seaweed cultivation can support the survival of fishermen especially in Bluto Sumenep. Seaweed also can produce a wide variety of products that can provide benefits to the villagers. Seaweed farming activities is not only performed only by men, but women (or wives) can do as well. The purpose of this study is try to describe the characteristics of fishing seaweed; describe the division of labor between husband and wife fishing seaweed; analyze differences in access to and control over production resources between husband and wife; and the contribution of women to the household incomes of seaweed fishermen. The methods used quantitative method that is supported by qualitative method. The role and contribution of the wife can be seen from the amount of time devoted to each activity carried out both on productive activity, reproductive, and social activities. Wifes involvement in productive activities also contribute income to their household income. Wife revenues can contribute the household expenses when their husbands are still missing. Husband tends to play a role in productive activity, whereas the wife role in reproductive and social activities.

Abstract

This article discusses gender, especially in women’s job qualifications, and provides opportunities for women in society. Gender issues are expected to be addressed, but what about the people of Wakan village who still use patriarchal culture daily? It causes women to be unable to work according to their talents. This study refers to Foucault's theory of knowledge and power regime. In contrast, the research method uses descriptive qualitative research, so the data collection technique uses a depiction of people’s lives that are happening now. The results show that women in Wakan Village still experience discrimination by men, especially in society, both in public and other spaces. It started from the community’s belief in seeing these women so that the role of women was still minimal in any case. Even though both men and society provide opportunities for women, every opportunity is still supervised by men, so all opportunities and roles of women cannot equal the roles of men, which causes women to be subordinated.
