Abstract

This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the PADC (Plan, Do, Check, Act) cycle, adapted from the Kemmis & McTaggart model, in improving the numeracy skills of fourth-grade students at Tumih Elementary School. The background of the problem indicates the low numeracy skills of students in the class and the urgency to find innovative learning approaches. The method used is Classroom Action Research (CAR), involving a series of interventions, observations, and interviews to identify positive shifts. The research findings significantly indicate a substantial improvement in students' numeracy skills. Concrete data shows that the average pre-test score of students was only 30, which then after repeated implementation of the PADC cycle, increased sharply to 70. This 40-point increase demonstrates the effectiveness of the PADC cycle in improving academic performance. Furthermore, the post-intervention condition also showed better material retention and increased student confidence. The conclusion of this study is that the PADC cycle has proven to be a highly effective framework for continuous learning improvement, not only significantly improving numeracy skills in fourth-grade students at Tumih Elementary School but also empowering teachers as adaptive change agents. This approach plays a crucial role in creating a more responsive and effective learning environment tailored to students' needs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze needs assessment-based educational planning in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum at SMK Negeri 1 Simpang Empat. A qualitative approach with a case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, limited participatory observations, and document analysis of the School Operational Curriculum (KOSP), School Work Plan (RKS), School Activity and Budget Plan (RKAS), and industry partnership documents. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing and verification. The findings reveal that educational planning has been conducted in a participatory and data-driven manner through school self-evaluation, tracer studies, and feedback from industry partners. The integration of needs assessment results into planning documents demonstrates vertical alignment between vision, programs, and budgeting. However, long-term labor market projections and outcome-based performance indicators require further strengthening. This study contributes to the development of adaptive and reflective vocational education planning models oriented toward graduate relevance and employability.

Abstract

The determination of performance goals and indicators in schools plays an important role in improving the quality of education management and learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the process of determining performance goals and indicators implemented at SMP Negeri 3 Cintapuri Darussalam, Cintapuri Darussalam District. This research used a qualitative approach with interview techniques as the main data collection method. The informants consisted of the principal and a fifth- teacher. The results show that the determination of school performance goals begins with the evaluation of the previous year's program and is aligned with the school’s vision and mission. The formulation of goals is carried out collaboratively through meetings involving teachers and education staff. The indicators used to measure performance include classroom orderliness, the implementation of positive discipline, constructive feedback to students, and improvement of student learning outcomes. The use of the Ruang GTK platform also supports the monitoring and evaluation of teacher performance. The study concludes that clear performance goals and indicators contribute to improving the effectiveness of school management and learning quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Rational–Comprehensive Model in school-based planning at SMK Negeri 1 Kuala Kapuas, particularly in the preparation of the School Work Plan (RKS) and the School Activity and Budget Plan (RKAS), as well as its impact on the effectiveness and efficiency of vocational education programs. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The research participants included the principal, vice principals, teachers, administrative staff, and representatives from industry partners. The findings indicate that the Rational–Comprehensive Model has been implemented through systematic stages, including needs assessment based on school quality reports and performance data, analysis of alternative programs, priority setting, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation. The planning process has become more evidence-based, participatory, and aligned with industry demands. Key priority programs include student internships (PKL), competency certification, vocational competency examinations, teacher professional development, and the procurement of practical training equipment. Despite challenges such as limited financial resources, time constraints for teachers, and performance-based evaluation limitations, the application of this model has improved program effectiveness by ensuring that activities are goal-oriented and needs-based. It has also enhanced budget efficiency through clear prioritization. Overall, the Rational–Comprehensive Model serves as a strategic approach to strengthening accountability, improving educational quality, and increasing the relevance of vocational education to labor market demands.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of needs assessment in the preparation of the School Work Plan (RKS) at SMP Negeri 3 Martapura. Needs assessment serves as a fundamental basis for data-driven planning and school quality improvement. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis of the School Work Plan (RKS), School Budget Plan (RKAS), School Self-Evaluation, and Education Report data. Informants included the principal, vice principal, RKS drafting team, teachers, and the school committee. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña involving data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing simultaneously. The findings reveal that needs assessment was conducted systematically through the collection of actual school data, gap analysis between current and expected conditions, and priority setting based on urgency, impact on learning quality, alignment with school vision and mission, and budget availability. The process was participatory, involving teachers, the school committee, and student representatives. The results of the needs assessment were integrated into the RKS in the form of priority programs, performance indicators, achievement targets, and resource allocation. This study proposes a conceptual model of needs assessment characterized by data-based, participatory, and strategic-rational dimensions.

Abstract

Parental participation plays an important role in supporting the implementation of education in schools. Parents’ involvement does not only support students’ learning processes but also contributes to the development of school educational programs. This study aims to examine parental participation in educational planning at SMKN 1 Sungai Tabuk and to identify the strategic role of parents in supporting students’ career development. This research employed a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews with the principal, the vice principal for curriculum, and the vice principal for public relations. The results indicate that parental participation occurs in several school activities such as new student admissions, report card distribution, preparation for industrial work practice (PKL), and graduation activities. Communication between schools and parents is conducted through the school committee, direct meetings, and digital communication media such as WhatsApp groups. In the context of vocational education, parents also play a strategic role in supporting students’ career development through their social networks which can help provide internship placements and job opportunity information for graduates. However, parental involvement is sometimes constrained by parents’ work commitments. Therefore, strengthening communication and cooperation between schools and parents is necessary to enhance parental participation in educational planning.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of a systems approach in educational planning at Sungai Miai 11 Public Elementary School. The systems approach views educational planning as a process involving various interrelated components, such as students, educators, curriculum, facilities and infrastructure, and the school environment. This study uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, and documentation with the principal, teachers, and parties involved in the preparation of educational planning. Data were analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of the study indicate that the application of a systems approach in educational planning at Sungai Miai 11 Public Elementary School has helped the school integrate input, process, and output aspects in a more structured manner. This has an impact on planning that is more focused and effective and supports the continuous improvement of educational quality.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the integration of pesantren values in madrasah development planning through a needs assessment approach at MA Ubudiyah. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design to examine how pesantren values are identified and incorporated into institutional planning. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis involving the head of the madrasah, teachers, and coordinators of religious activities. Data analysis used the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that pesantren values such as sincerity (ikhlas), discipline, simplicity, and collective responsibility are integrated into the madrasah development planning process through three stages: identification of institutional needs, formulation of value-based development programs, and internalization of pesantren culture in educational and organizational practices. This integration strengthens the religious culture of the madrasah and supports the development of institutional identity and character-based education.

Abstract

This study examines the implementation of the manpower approach in school program planning as a strategy to strengthen governance at SMK Negeri 2 Banjarmasin. The main issues addresses is the misalignment between teacher distribution, competency suitability, and vocational program development, which affects school governance effectiveness. The study aims to analyze how the manpower approach is applied in planning teacher needs and how it contributes to strategic school management. A qualitative case study design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, document analysis of school planning documents, and direct observation of planning processes. The findings reveal that the manpower approach improves proportional teacher workload distribution, competency alignment with vocational expertise programs, resource efficiency, and accountability in school govermance. However, challenges remain in terms of competency mismatch and limited synchronization with regional education policies. The study concludes that integrating manpower-based planning into strategic educational management enchaces data-driven decision- making into strengthens governance practces in vocational schools.

Abstract

Summative evaluation of educational programs is an essential instrument to ensure school quality and accountability. This study was conducted at UPTD SD Negeri 2 Pandan Sari with the aim of analyzing the effectiveness of its educational program through the lens of the CIPP model (Context, Input, Process, Product). The research employed a qualitative approach, utilizing interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The participants included the principal, teachers, and educational staff. The findings indicate that: (1) in terms of context, the program was designed in alignment with the school’s vision and mission; (2) in terms of input, human resources, facilities, and infrastructure adequately supported program implementation; (3) in terms of process, activities were carried out consistently, although documentation practices require improvement; and (4) in terms of product, the program had a positive impact on students’ literacy development, character formation, social skills, and academic achievement. The study concludes that the CIPP model provides a comprehensive evaluation framework and offers a holistic overview of program effectiveness. These findings serve as a foundation for schools to formulate continuous improvement strategies aimed at enhancing educational quality.
