Abstract

This study examines the partnership between SDN Pelambuan 4 Banjarmasin and PT Trakindo Utama in supporting educational planning at the elementary school level. School–industry partnerships are increasingly recognized as an important strategy to strengthen educational quality through collaboration with external stakeholders. This research employed a qualitative approach with data collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. The research subjects consisted of the principal, teachers, and related parties involved in the partnership program at SDN Pelambuan 4 Banjarmasin. The findings indicate that the partnership with PT Trakindo Utama has contributed significantly to educational planning through several activities, including teacher training, facilitation of school program development, and provision of infrastructure support through Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs. The partnership also involves facilitators and external partners who assist schools in developing innovative programs, such as literacy programs, project-based learning, child-friendly school initiatives, and mental health awareness programs. In addition, the collaboration encourages participatory planning processes involving school stakeholders through workshops, brainstorming sessions, and program evaluations. Overall, the partnership has strengthened school programs, improved teachers’ professional capacity, supported educational facilities, and stimulated innovative programs within the school. Abstract

This study was motivated by the low level of learning responsibility among students of class VII G at SMP Negeri 8 Banjarmasin. This condition was reflected in several behaviors, including the need for frequent reminders to complete assignments, inability to explain the reasons behind their learning activities, a tendency to blame others for learning difficulties, lack of enthusiasm in completing tasks independently, weak interest in learning, and difficulty maintaining concentration during learning activities. The pre-test results showed an average learning responsibility score of 25.50, with five students categorized as low and three students categorized as moderate. This study aimed to describe the implementation of group counseling services using the Self Journey Chest media to improve learning responsibility and to examine the effectiveness of the service in enhancing students’ learning responsibility. This research employed Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK), conducted in three cycles by adapting the Kemmis and McTaggart model. The research subjects consisted of eight students from class VII G who were identified as having low learning responsibility based on the needs assessment results. Data were collected through a learning responsibility questionnaire, observation sheets, and student worksheets. The data were analyzed using quantitative and qualitative comparative descriptive approaches. The findings indicated a significant improvement in students’ learning responsibility across each cycle. The average score increased from 25.50 in the pre-cycle stage (low category) to 29.00 in Cycle I (moderate category), 40.50 in Cycle II (high category), and 53.38 in Cycle III (very high category). By the end of Cycle III, all students (100%) achieved high or very high levels of learning responsibility, exceeding the predetermined success indicator of 75%. Therefore, group counseling services utilizing the Self Journey Chest media were proven effective in improving the learning responsibility of class VII G students at SMP Negeri 8 Banjarmasin.

Abstract

Career indecision is a condition in which students experience difficulties and uncertainty when determining their future educational pathways. This condition may arise due to inadequate self-understanding, limited information about further education, difficulties in decision-making, and low confidence in educational choices. This study aimed to reduce career indecision among students of class XI through group guidance services. The study employed the Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) method conducted in three cycles consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The participants were eight students identified as experiencing uncertainty in determining further study choices. The findings indicated that group guidance services helped students improve self-understanding, gain broader information about further education, enhance decision-making skills, and strengthen confidence in their educational choices. These improvements were reflected in the observation and process evaluation results, which increased from the fair category in Cycle I to the very good category in Cycle III. Therefore, group guidance services are effective in reducing career indecision among students of class XI.
