Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the technical efficiency of Stunting interventions in Indonesia, both in terms of technical costs and technical systems, and the relative efficiency between provinces. The data used in this study are 33 provinces data during the period 2015-2019. The research method used Two-Stage Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) with DEAP. Government Integrated Special Allocation Fund (Intervention) as input variable. Health facilities and services, which are indicators of nutrition intervention, become intermediate output variables, and the percentage of normal nutritional status (Height/Age) for children under five as output variables. The results show that there are only two provinces (6.06%) that have achieved 100% technical efficiency in terms of costs. Meanwhile, technically in the system, only six provinces (18.18%) have achieved efficient conditions. Regions that were always relatively efficient compared to other provinces during the research year were only D.I.Y and Bali. This means that it is necessary to improve health facilities and services to reduce Stunting rates in children under five and maximize the budget. This study recommends not reducing the integrated funds, but optimizing output by increasing health facilities and services to the public.

Abstract

This study investigates the impact of macroeconomic variables, namely inflation, gross domestic product (GDP), and the Bank Indonesia interest rate (BI-rate), alongside microeconomic indicators such as non-performing loans (NPL), loan-to-deposit ratio (LDR), non-performing financing (NPF), financing-to-deposit ratio (FDR), and operating expenses to operating income (OEOI) on the profitability of both conventional and Islamic banks in Indonesia over the period 2017–2023. Employing a purposive sampling technique, 7 Islamic banks and 7 conventional banks were selected from a population of 13 Islamic and 92 conventional banks, based on the criteria of complete financial disclosures and consistent financial performance. Panel data regression analysis reveals that, for conventional banks, inflation exerts a statistically significant negative influence on return on assets (ROA), whereas GDP, the BI-rate, and LDR exhibit significant positive effects. Conversely, NPL and OEOI negatively affect profitability. In the case of Islamic banks, inflation, NPF, and FDR demonstrate significant adverse impacts on ROA, while GDP, the BI-rate, and OEOI contribute positively. These findings emphasize the divergent financial structures and sensitivities of conventional and Islamic banks in response to macroeconomic and microeconomic dynamics. The study offers strategic insights for bank management and regulatory authorities to enhance policy frameworks, with particular emphasis on risk mitigation and digital adaptation, thereby fostering sustained profitability and competitiveness in Indonesia’s banking sector.

Abstract

Economic growth continues to be enhanced with the aim of improving the welfare of its society. In implementing economic growth, it requires components that are not only human resources but also natural resources. Economic growth is positively correlated with energy use, and this can raise per capita income. This study aims to investigate how energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and foreign direct investment (FDI) affect economic growth in 5 ASEAN nations. This study uses 5 ASEAN countries that have the highest economic growth and high Carbon Emissions. This research uses the Ordinary Least Square method. (OLS). Energy use has a negative and negligible impact on GDP per capita, according to the findings of the research. GDP per capita is significantly and favorably impacted by foreign direct investment, or FDI. The impact of CO2 emissions on GDP per capita is negligible and negative. The conclusion of this research is that the variables of Carbon Emissions and Energy Consumption do not have a significant effect on GDP per capita, whereas the variable of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) has a significant effect on GDP per capita. It is hoped that this research can serve as a basis for evaluation for future studies using more advanced methods, and of course, be useful for policymakers.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of monetary factors on the exchange rate of the Rupiah against the US Dollar using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach. The variables used include interest rates, inflation, and foreign exchange reserves as independent variables, and exchange rates. The data used is annual data from 1988 to 2023 obtained from official sources such as Bank Indonesia, BPS, and World Bank. The stationarity test results show that all variables are (1). The cointegration test shows that there is a long-term relationship between variables. Model estimation shows that interest rates and inflation have a significant effect on the exchange rate in the short term, while foreign exchange reserves play a role in the long term. The impulse response and variance decomposition results corroborate that exchange rate fluctuations are mostly influenced by shocks to interest rates and inflation. This study emphasizes the importance of monetary management in maintaining exchange rate stability.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of inflation, exchange rate, and population on Indonesia’s economic growth from 1993 to 2023 using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) approach. The research utilizes secondary data obtained from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) and the World Bank. The stationarity test shows that most variables become stationary at the first difference. Johansen cointegration test results indicate a long-term equilibrium relationship among the variables. In the short run, VECM estimation results show that only the population variable is significantly affected by changes in other variables, while inflation and exchange rate do not show significant short-term impacts. The Impulse Response Function (IRF) and Variance Decomposition analysis confirm that population has a more dominant and persistent effect on economic growth compared to inflation and exchange rate, both of which exhibit relatively weak influence. These findings highlight the strategic role of demographic dynamics in shaping macroeconomic performance. Therefore, improving population quality and managing demographic trends should be prioritized in national development planning to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth in Indonesia.
