Abstract

Leadership character is an important thing that should exist in an individual because in determining the success of a group or organization requires a leader who has a leadership spirit in order to achieve a goal properly. The formation of this character should be done as early as possible, especially for children at school. One way to improve leadership character is through outbound activities which are often carried out in schools and can function as a medium for complex life simulations. In accordance with this statement, this review article aims to determine the relationship and influence between outbound activities and the formation of leadership character for elementary, junior high and high school students. To achieve this goal, a research method was carried out in the form of a review article using five literatures originating from an online database with a range from 20017 to 2023. The results of these articles reviewed show that outbound games are suitable and effective in improving children’s leadership characteristics at various levels of education such as increasing self confidence, courage to socialize and communicate in front of many people.

Abstract

Education about interprofessional education is needed by every student, especially for students in the health sector. Collaborative skills can be done by using the outbound method. Doing outbound in nature, for example, is able to improve collaborative abilities in students without leaving their interprofessional nature as a student. Writing this article aims to analyze honesty as an interprofessional factor with outbound games in the form of ball games and trust walks. The writing of this article uses the literature review method with literature searches carried out through esources such as Google Scholar and ResearchGate. The articles obtained were analyzed using a simplified approach, namely by compiling the various articles obtained and simplifying each finding. The results of the literature review show that doing outbound in nature can improve students' collaborative abilities without leaving interprofessional traits. Through outbound activities, character building can also be carried out, one of which is honesty. Focusing on the application of honesty by playing ball games and trust walks in outbound activities can improve student honesty and collaborative skills.

Abstract

The aviation sector is one of the work areas that requires the implementation of Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). Work in the aviation sector also presents various risks, one of which can occur in work accidents caused by fatigue. Based on preliminary studies conducted on Aviation Security Officers (AVSEC), there are symptoms of work fatigue. The study aims to determine the relationship of repetitive motion, workload, work shifts, and sleep quality with job fatigue in AVSEC officers. The research used a quantitative observational study with an analytic design through a cross-sectional approach with a total of 76 AVSEC officers. The instruments are stopwatch to measure repetitive motion, NASA-TLX questionnaire to measure the level mental workload, pulse oximeter to determine physical workload, PSQI questionnaire to determine sleep quality, and IFRC questionnaire to determine work fatigue. Data analyzed using Spearman's rank test and ordinal logistic regression test. The results show a significant relationship between all independent variables, namely repetitive motion (p-value <0.001), mental workload (p value <0.001), physical workload (p value = 0.041), work shift (p value = 0.002), and sleep quality (p value <0.001) with job fatigue. The most related variable in this study with work fatigue variable is mental workload variable (p-value = 0.002).

Abstract

Metabolic syndrome is an increasingly common cluster of cardiometabolic risks among the productive-age population. This Systematic Literature Review (PRISMA) identified holistic, health promotion–based strategies for its management. From 511 articles screened, 26 met the inclusion criteria. The findings show that combined interventions—physical activity, healthy diets, continuous education, behavioral modification, and supportive environments and policies—significantly improve metabolic syndrome indicators, including blood pressure, lipid profile, and insulin sensitivity. The review emphasizes integrating multiple components and leveraging technology to strengthen adherence. Overall, a holistic health promotion approach is effective for preventing and reducing metabolic syndrome in productive-age adults and provides valuable guidance for policymakers and public health practitioners.

Abstract

Based on data from the Indonesian National Police, there were 5,336 fire cases from May 2018 to July 2023. In October 2021 Hospital X experienced a fire in the Pharmacy Building. The easiest fire protection tool to use is light fire extinguisher. In order for workers to understand the use of light fire extinguisher, it is necessary to carry out training. Light fire extinguisher training can be carried out by providing digital flipbooks via WhatsApp. This study aims to determine the effect of digital flipbooks on fire extinguisher use behavior in X Hospital workers. The research method is True Experiment Design. The sample in this study were 44 workers and used total sampling. Data analysis in this study using the independent T test and Mann Whitney Test which obtained a Sig value. 0.000 less than 0.05 which means that there is an influence of digital flipbooks on knowledge, attitudes, and skills in the use of fire extinguishers. It is hoped that light fire extinguisher training will be carried out evenly to every worker in the hospital, if a fire occurs workers can extinguish the fire using light fire extinguisher.

Abstract

The most significant football stadium riot tragedy occurred at the National Stadium (Estadio Nacional) in Lima, Peru, resulting in 362 fatalities. The second largest tragedy transpired at the Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang Regency, Indonesia, leading to 135 deaths. This research aims to evaluate the conformity of evacuation routes and fire protection systems at the one of Football Stadium in Greater Malang, in accordance with the standards and regulations applicable in Indonesia. This analytical descriptive study employs a quantitative research design. The research process involved examining the factual conditions on the ground and subsequently comparing the suitability of evacuation routes and fire protection systems against the standard benchmarks and regulations in place in Indonesia. The results of this study indicate that the conformity level of the evacuation routes, comprising emergency stairs, evacuation routes, safety signs, assembly points, and emergency exits, is at 61.9 percent, denoting adequate compliance. Conversely, the active fire protection systems, encompassing portable fire extinguishers (APAR), hydrants, fire alarms, fire detectors, and sprinklers, show 0 percent compliance, meaning no conformity exists. This study is anticipated to serve as a reference for enhancing evacuation routes and fire protection systems at Football Stadium X: stadium in Greater Malang.

Abstract

A sedentary lifestyle among adolescents represents a major risk factor for the development of prediabetes and metabolic syndrome, which may affect long-term health outcomes. This condition highlights the importance of comprehensive and sustainable health promotion strategies. This study aims to systematically review health promotion strategies for preventing prediabetes associated with sedentary behavior among adolescents. This study employed a literature review method by analyzing ten selected primary research articles. The articles were screened based on topic relevance, study design, and their focus on health promotion and metabolic syndrome prevention. Data were analyzed using descriptive and thematic approaches to identify key intervention characteristics and outcomes. The findings indicate that multilevel interventions based on socio-ecological models are more effective than passive educational approaches. School-based, community-based, and digital health interventions were shown to increase physical activity levels and improve metabolic indicators. Moreover, habit-based interventions and targeted programs for high-risk groups demonstrated greater sustainability of health outcomes. In conclusion, integrative, adaptive, and multisectoral health promotion strategies are effective approaches for preventing prediabetes among adolescents with sedentary lifestyles.

Abstract

Indonesia is undergoing a demographic shift marked by a rising proportion of elderly individuals, a trend that is also evident in Malang Regency. A needs assessment conducted among elderly residents of PKK Perum Sengkaling Indah 1 RW 08 identified various physical and psychological health declines that adversely affect their psychological well-being. Mindfulness Yoga was introduced as a strategic intervention aimed at optimizing both physical and psychological health among the elderly. The program was implemented using a structured and systematic approach, comprising three phases: (1) initial preparation, (2) intervention delivery, and (3) final evaluation. Effectiveness of the intervention was assessed through pre-test and post-test measurements. Results indicated a statistically significant improvement in participants’ psychological well-being following two intensive sessions of Mindfulness Yoga (Wilcoxon W = 0.00; p = 0.002). These findings support the feasibility of implementing the program within elderly community settings and highlight its potential for replication in other regions.
