Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan: 1.) Menghasilkan media komik berbasis pendidikan karakter peduli sosial; 2.) Mengetahui tingkat kelayakan media komik berbasis pendidikan karakter peduli sosial; dan 3.) Mengetahui keefektifan komik berbasis pendidikan karakter peduli sosial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian dan pengembangan menggunakan model pengembangan ADDIE. Subyek dalam penelitian ini adalah ahli media, ahli materi, guru sekolah dasar, dan siswa kelas 5 Sekolah Dasar Islam Terpadu (SDIT) Ulul Albab 2 Purworejo. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa pedoman wawancara, angket penilaian kualitas kelayakan media komik, angket respon siswa, angket kepedulian sosial siswa, dan tes. Analisis data dilakukan dengan analisis deskriptif dan uji t-test. Hasil penelitian: 1.) Telah dihasilkan media komik berbasis pendidikan karakter peduli sosial pada pembelajaran tematik-integratif kelas 5 SD; 2.) Media komik yang dikembangkan layak berdasarkan hasil uji kelayakan oleh ahli media, ahli materi, dan guru SD untuk seluruh aspek memperoleh kategori sangat baik; dan 3.) Media komik berbasis pendidikan karakter peduli sosial efektif berdasarkan data angket respon siswa, tes, dan angket kepedulian sosial. Data angket respon siswa memperoleh kategori sangat baik. Hasil uji-t diperoleh thitung sebesar 9.543 dengan df sebesar 50 dan ttabel sebesar 2.008 pada taraf signifikan 5%, maka thitung lebih besar ttabel (th: 9.543 tt: 2.008) atau signifikansi 0.000 di bawah nilai p 0.05 sehingga dapat dinyatakan bahwa terdapat perbedaan hasil postest secara signifikan pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Hasil perhitungan angket kepedulian sosial siswa kelas eksperimen dengan media komik menunjukkan peningkatan sebesar 75% termasuk kriteria sangat tinggi.Development of comic media based on social care character education in thematic-integrative learningAbstractThis study aimed to 1.) Produce comic learning media based on social caring character education; 2.) Determine the feasibility of comic learning media based on social caring character education; and 3.) Determine the effectiveness of comic learning media based on social caring character education. The type of research is Research and Development using the ADDIE development model. The research subjects are media expert, material expert, elementary school teacher, class 5 in SDIT Ulul Albab 2 Purworejo. The instruments used were interview guides, questionnaires assessing the quality of comic media feasibility, student response questionnaires, student social care questionnaires, and tests. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis and independent samples t-test. The result showed that: 1.) Has been produced of comic learning media based on social caring character education thematic-integrative learning in grade 5 elementary school; 2.) Comic learning media that are developed are based on the results of feasibility test by media experts, material experts, and elementary school teachers, the categories were very good; and 3.) Comic learning media based on social care character education is effective based on student response questionnaire data, tests, and social care questionnaires. Student questionnaire response data obtained a very good category. The result of t-test is thitung of 9.543 with df of 50 and ttabel of 2.008 at a significant level of 5% then thitung greater then ttabel (th: 9.543 tt: 2.008) or significant 0.000 below value p 0,05 so that it can be stated that there are significant differences in posttest results in the experimental class and the control class. The results of the calculation of the social care questionnaire data of students in the experimental class given the comic media showed an increase of 75%, including very high criteria.

Abstract

The perspective of parents who support student diversity in school will open to a variety of different problems. The attitude is expected to encourage the implementation of integration and harmony among diversity. Therefore, the objective of the study was to describe the views of parents towards student diversity in inclusive education. Diversity from the perspective of parents determines the attitude of agree and disagree, as well as the right view of inclusive. The research method used a questionnaire to respondents of 99 parents from elementary schools in five regencies of the Special Region of Yogyakarta. The results showed that the majority of parents still had a narrow understanding that the concept of inclusive was the same with Student Educational Need (SEN). Here, the concept of labeling might understand as a misconception phenomenon. However, the majority of parents agreed to the SEN in regular schools, but an understanding of separate learning is the responsibility of the special supervisor or, interpreted as the inclusion officer. The implications need the education to understand the inclusion correctly and discuss the perspectives of parents to contribute to the success of learning in inclusive elementary schools.

Abstract

This study is about multicultural education and religious tolerance in the midst of increasing religious intolerance in the educational environment. This study  analyses elementary school teachers’ understanding of multicultural education and its implementation. The research method is a case study in the city of Yogyakarta, chosen because it is both know as a city of education and because this city has declared it a tolerant city. The results showed that the understanding of elementary school teachers’ multicultural education is generally essentialist, but some were constructivist or anti-essentialist.  The attitudes and actions of elementary school teachers, both consciously and unconsciously, may also include religious intolerance. One of the factors that distinguishes the content of religious tolerance and intolerance among elementary school teachers is their attitudes and actions towards local cultural principles. The higher the appreciation of local culture, the greater amount of religious tolerance. Further, when appreciation of local cultural traditions is low, it is more likely that a teacher is intolerant of other religions.  [Tulisan ini membahas pendidikan multikultural dan toleransi beragama ditengah meningkatnya intoleransi di lingkungan pendidikan. Fokus tulisan ini adalah pemahaman guru sekolah dasar mengenai pendidikan multikultural dan implementasinya dengan studi kasus di kota Yogyakarta, karena kota ini adalah kota pendidikan dan mendeklarasikan sebagai kota toleran. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa pemahaman guru sekolah dasar mengenai pendidikan multikultur cenderung esensialis, tapi beberapa yang lain anti esensialis atau konstruktif. Sikap dan perilaku mereka baik sadar atau tidak sadar, mengandung kecenderungan intoleransi. Salah satu faktor yang membedakan muatan toleransi dan intoleransi diantara guru tersebut adalah sikap dan perilaku pada prinsip budaya lokal. Apresiasi tinggi pada budaya lokal adalah terbesar dalam toleransi beragama. Lebih lanjut, jika apresiasi pada tradisi lokal rendah, ini berarti guru tersebut cenderung intoleran pada agama lain.]

Abstract

Implementasi blended learning by the constructive approach (BLCA) dalam pembelajaran interaksi manusia dan komputer bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kemandirian belajar dalam pembelajaran interaksi manusia dan komputer (IMK). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan yang terdiri dari tiga siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari tiga tahap yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan pengamatan, serta refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 50 orang mahasiswa Prodi TP FIP UNY. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, tes, angket, dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa,pemahaman konsep dalam pembelajaran IMK meningkat melalui implementasi BLCA dengan rerata nilai tes pada siklus I yaitu 67,56; siklus II menjadi 73,2, dan siklus III menjadi 80,9. Kemandirian belajar dalam pembelajaran IMK meningkat melalui implementasi BLCA, dengan rerata skor angket siklus I yaitu 61,52; siklus II menjadi 64,98; dan siklus III menjadi 68,46. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah bahwa implementasi BLCAdapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep dan kemandirian belajar dalam pembelajaran IMK. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan perolehan kosakata dalam pemahaman membaca bahasa Inggris menggunakan Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy (VSS) siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK), yang terdiri dari dua siklus. Tiap siklus terdiri dari empat tahap, yaitu perencanaan, pelaksanaan, pengamatan, dan refleksi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah 32 siswa kelas VII B SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan tahun ajaran 2013/2014. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu observasi, tes, dan wawancara. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu deskriptif kuantitatif dan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa penerapan strategi VSS dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan perolehan kosakata dalam pemahaman membaca bahasa Inggris. Peningkatan hasil belajar siswa ditunjukkan dengan meningkatnya jumlah siswa yang lulus standar KKM pada siklus I dan II. Nilai rata-rata tes pada siklus I adalah 77,2. Nilai rata-rata tes pada siklus II adalah 82,4. Kesimpulan pada penelitian ini adalah bahwa penerapan strategi VSS dapat meningkatkan perolehan kosakata bahasa Inggris dalam pemahaman membaca siswa kelas VII SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan. THE EFFORT TO IMPROVE VOCABULARY ACQUISITION IN ENGLISH READING COMPREHENSION USING VSS ON THE STUDENTS OF SMP Abstract This study aims to improve vocabulary acquisition in English reading comprehension using Vocabulary Self-Collection Strategy (VSS) on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan. This was an action reserch study consisting of two cycles. Each cycle consisted of four steps, namely planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research subjects were 32 seventh grade students of SMP 3 Kalasan in the academic year of 2013/2014. The data were collected through observation, tests, and interviews and analyzed by means of quantitative and qualitative descriptive techniques.The result shows that VSS could be used to improve vocabulary acquisition in English reading comprehension. The increase of students` learning achievement was shown through the increasing number of students who passed the KKM in cycle I and II. The avarage test score in cycle I was 77.2. The average test scores in cycle II was 82.4. The conclusion of this research is that the implementation of VSS could improve the vocabulary acquisition in English reading comprehension on the seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 3 Kalasan. Abstract

The goal of this research is to investigate models relating to psychological aspects of mathematics learning, such as math anxiety, scaffolding, math attitude, and working memory. This study included 548 junior high school students from public schools and Islamic boarding schools. The analytical method utilizes analysis of variance, bivariate product moment supported by SPSS, and Smart PLS 3 for path analysis. Model fit criteria (SMSR < .05; RMS Theta < .102; NFI > .9). The model fits based on the SRMR value .000 < .10 dan NFI 1 > .90. The findings show that students from public schools and Islamic boarding schools are different in terms of math anxiety, scaffolding and math attitude. Path analysis shows that math attitude mediates the interaction between math anxiety and scaffolding on working memory. Furthermore, scaffolding has a direct impact on working memory. The implications of the study's findings have been discussed in this article.

Abstract

In this study, we focus on self-disclosure, communicating mathematics, and infrastructure support in determining the ease of online learning for students of mathematics education study programs. The sample in this study were students (n=465) who were asked voluntarily to fill out an online questionnaire. Participants consisted of 335 female students (72%) and 130 male students (28%) from various universities in Indonesia. The data were analyzed quantitatively using structural equation modeling. The results of the path analysis show that the ease of online learning is influenced by self-disclosure, communicating mathematics, and infrastructure support. The R square results show that these factors influence 47%. Each path analysis shows that self-disclosure (r = 0.556 p= 0.000) and infrastructure support (r = 0.243 p = 0.000) have a significant positive relationship with the ease of online learning. Meanwhile, communicating mathematics (r = -0.025 p =0.507) has an insignificant negative relationship to the ease of online learning. Further research is needed to see how the impact of mathematical application support communicating mathematics in online learning.

This study aims to determine the effect of the PBL model on students' critical thinking skills and self-confidence at State Senior High School 1 Amanuban Tengah, East Nusa Tenggara Province. This research was experimental research and the quasi-experimental design used in this research is a pretest-posttest control group design. The research results showed that the pretest average of critical thinking skills in the experimental class was 37.21, while in the control class, it was 37.14. The average prescale self-confidence score of students in the experimental class was 48.66, while in the control class, it was 48.60. Furthermore, the posttest average of critical thinking skills in the experimental class was 65.71, and in the control class was 45.71. The data analysis used the independent samples test method on students' critical thinking skills variable obtained a significance value (sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05 and also on the students' self-confidence variable obtained a significance value (sig. 2-tailed) = 0.000 <0.05, which means H0 rejected and Ha accepted. Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that the PBL model has a positive effect on the student's critical thinking skills and self-confidence in senior high school.

Abstract

Service quality and Educational Information Communication (IEC) can affect the continuity ofcontraceptive use. The purpose of this study is how the effectiveness of multimedia-assisted KIEFamily Planning (KB) by midwives in assisting the selection of contraceptives for pregnant women.The pre-experimental research design was in the form of a one group pretest-posttest design, namelylooking at the knowledge of pregnant women about family planning before and after IEC and knowingthe selection of contraceptives before and after IEC which was carried out at the Larashati SewonClinic. The sample of this study was 41 pregnant women in the third trimester of pregnancy with thetechnique of taking acidental sampling. The instrument used was a questionnaire. Data analysis usingnonparametric test two samples related test with Wilcoxon. There was a difference in the choice ofcontraceptive before and after being given IEC. There is a difference in the knowledge of pregnantwomen before and after being given IEC. IEC services for family planning by midwives for patientsusing multimedia can increase knowledge, so that it can help pregnant women to choosecontraceptives after childbirth.Keywords: Educational information communication, family planning, contraceptive selection
