Abstract

COVID-19 caused a pandemic around the world, including in Indonesia. This greatly affected the informal business sector, such as online taxibike drivers. The success of this program to control the spread of COVID-19 is greatly influenced by knowledge, attitudes, and actions in the community. The purpose of this study was to identify behavioral factors during the pandemic. An online survey was conducted with 100 online taxibike drivers using a structured questionnaire and Google Forms. Data were analyzed using the Spearman rank test with CI of 95%. Although most online taxibike drivers have sufficient knowledge about COVID-19, some drivers had important misconceptions about COVID-19, namely that COVID-19 is not contagious, weak immune resistance may cause them to contract COVID-19, and it is highly unlikely that they will contract COVID-19 when leaving the house without wearing a mask, and believing that handwashing with soap and using hand sanitizer will not prevent COVID-19. To address these misconceptions, interventions should be targeted to online taxibike drivers to increase their health education and literacy regarding the urgency of preventing COVID-19. It is also important to consider incorporating both interpersonal approaches and conventional and digital-based groups when encouraging changes in their attitudes and practices towards COVID-19.

Abstract

The maternal health condition in Indonesia still requires special attention in terms of prevention and management of mental-emotional disorders. Meanwhile, the Indonesia Basic Health Research in 2013 results show that the prevalence of mental-emotional disorder was approximately 6% in each of the different provinces. This study aims to detect the prevalence of mental-emotional disorders symptoms in pregnant women and examine the relations with age, education, occupation, number of children ownership, MUAC (Mid-Upper Arm Circumference), and blood pressure. This is an analytical observational study conducted using a cross-sectional design on pregnant women that participated in antenatal examination visits to health facilities. The location was 60 Private Delivery Centers, 244 Public Health Centers, and 259 Hospitals. The sampling site was carried out in three different places, which focused on three areas of South Sulawesi in Makassar, Maros, and Pangkep. The pregnant woman within the age range of 20-35 years shows 71,3% with a p-value=0,080 having mental-emotional disorder symptoms and 71,5% of mothers with less than two children predominantly experienced mental-emotional disorders symptoms with a p-value=0,078. Hence, it is important to address this issue because the mental and emotional problems in pregnant women can potentially lead to adverse effects, both for the women and the baby.

Abstract

Abstract

Several risk groups, one of which is pregnant women are susceptible COVID-19. Pregnancy is known as a susceptible condition to COVID-19 infection because it could cause immunity decrease. Therefore, it is necessary to comply with COVID-19 preventive behavior. This study aims to analyze the relationship between perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived obstacle, perceived benefit and self-efficacy with COVID-19 preventive behavior among pregnant women in the work area of Sempaja Community Health Center. This was an observational study with cross sectional design. Samples were selected using purposive sampling technique based on inclusion criteria of pregnant women who lived and registered in the determined work area and had gestational age of more than 12 weeks. There were 194 pregnant women involved as the study samples. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank Test. The bivariate analysis revealed that there was relationship between self-efficacy (p value of 0.000), perceived barrier (p value of 0.025), perceived benefit (p value of 0.000), and perceived severity (p value of 0.000) with compliance with COVID-19 preventive behavior. However, there was no relationship between perceived susceptibility and compliance with COVID-19 preventive behavior (p value of 0.287). It can be concluded that the better perception of pregnant women, the better compliance with COVID-19 preventive behavior. It is recommended to increase health promotion in order to keep compliance with COVID-19 preventive behavior.
