Abstract

Special Capital District Jakarta province is one of the most populous cities in Indonesia. People commute every day mostly by using private vehicles to meet their needs. Somehow another alternative comes as one of the longest lengths of BRT track in the world, operationalization of the Transjakarta BRT is expected to be able to contribute to economic growth and improve people's accessibility so that it could reduce the unemployment rate. This paper aims to determine the magnitude of BRT operationalization on economic growth and the unemployment rate in Jakarta. This paper used panel data consisting of 5 cities in Jakarta during 2016-2021. 2 Stage Least Square is being used as a methodology that estimates endogenous & predetermined variables. Secondary data used consist of economic growth, the unemployment rate as the endogenous and BRT kilometer traveled private vehicle units, stock capital growth, and the number of the labor force as the predetermined ones. The findings in this study indicate that the operationalization of BRT contributes 0,01577231 to economic growth and decreases 0,00120415 the employment rate in Jakarta at the significance level of 5% ceteris paribus. It suggests that in the long-run BRT, operationalization plays an important role in the transportation economic sector in Jakarta

Abstract

Objective: This case report aims to determine the effectiveness of tandem walking interventions in the elderly with a diagnosis of fall risk in the community. Methods: This case uses a case report involving one elderly person in a community with a high risk of falling category. The tandem walking intervention was carried out for ten days at least once a day, and a Tinetti Gait and Balance test was carried out to see the fall risk category before and after the tandem walking intervention was given. Results: After being given the tandem walking nursing intervention for ten days, although there was no change in the fall risk category, there was a decrease in the Tinetti Gait and Balance score compared to before the intervention. In addition, the elderly said that after doing tandem walking, their walk was more balanced, and they did not need assistance when walking by holding the wall around it like before. Conclusion: The results of this case report only involved one elderly, but the interventions provided can reduce this bias because they can reduce the risk score of falling Thus, case report can be used as an initial study for further research related to modification of tandem roads in the context of the elderly population in a larger sample with a true experiment design.

Abstract

The elderly experience physiological decrease, especially in the musculoskeletal, neurological, and sensory systems, which have an impact on changes in body posture, decreased proprioception, and visual impairment. These physiological changes increase the risk of falling in the elderly. Falls are a major cause of severe injury and death among the elderly in the community. Intervention management through tandem walking has been widely studied to have a better impact on reducing the risk of falling than other interventions. This case report aims to determine the effectiveness of tandem walking interventions in the elderly with a diagnosis of fall risk in the community. This case uses a case report involving one elderly person in a community with a high risk of falling category. The tandem walking intervention was carried out for ten days at least once a day, and a Tinetti Gait and Balance test was carried out to see the fall risk category before and after the tandem walking intervention was given. Abstract

Abstract

Background: Appendicitis leads to post-appendectomy pain with significant physical and mental implications, necessitating non-pharmacological pain management approaches. Objective: This study aimed to determine which non-pharmacological interventions can effectively reduce postoperative pain following an appendectomy. Design: A rapid review study design was employed. Data Sources: The databases used were EBSCOhost-CINAHL and PubMed. The article search was conducted on March 14, 2022. Review Methods: The identified articles were described using PRISMA guidelines and sorted based on inclusion criteria. These criteria included patients with appendicitis aged 18-59 years who underwent appendectomy, non-pharmacological pain management interventions, studies utilizing the Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) method, full-text articles available, English language, and articles published between 2012-2022. Studies involving pediatric and elderly appendectomy patients, as well as studies with insignificant results, were excluded.  Results: Four articles were analyzed, revealing four types of interventions: Foot and Hand Reflexology (Massage), Lavender Aromatherapy and Almond oil (Aromatherapy), Inhalation aromatherapy with sweet-scented geranium essential oil, and Acupressure Le7. These interventions were then classified into two categories: aromatherapy-based interventions and neurostimulation-based interventions. All interventions were found to significantly reduce pain in appendectomy patients. Conclusions: Non-pharmacological therapies, such as lavender and almond oil aromatherapy, sweet-scented geranium aromatherapy, foot and hand reflexology, and Le7 acupressure, have demonstrated positive effects in reducing long-term pain after an appendectomy.
