Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkapkan karakter siswa, perbedaan karakter siswa yang tinggal di pesantren dan di rumah, serta karakter siswa yang tinggal di pesantren dan di rumah pada proses pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian eksplanatif komparatif ini menggunakan metode campuran dengan strategi concurrent triangulation strategy. Populasi penelitian ini adalah 121 siswa kelas VIII SMP Diponegoro Depok, Kabupaten Sleman. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh. Teknik analisis data kuantitatif menggunakan teknik statistik beda rata-rata Independent T-test dan teknik analisis data kualitatif  bersifat induktif dengan menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yaitu data reduction, data display, dan conclusion drawing/verification. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut. (1) siswa SMP Diponegoro, baik yang tinggal di pesantren maupun di rumah, secara keseluruhan karakter disiplinnya dalam kategori rendah sedangkan karakter jujur dan mandirinya dalam kategori sedang; (2) tidak terdapat perbedaan karakter siswa yang tinggal di pesantren dan di rumah. Ada perbedaan nilai rata-rata pada setiap nilai karakter di antara kedua kelompok siswa. Nilai karakter disiplin siswa yang tinggal di pesantren sebesar 27,13 sedangkan nilai karakter siswa yang tinggal di rumah sebesar 26,31; nilai karakter jujur siswa yang tinggal di pesantren sebesar 13,70 sedangkan siswa yang tinggal di rumah sebesar 13,68; dan nilai karakter mandiri siswa yang tinggal di pesantren sebesar 17,74 sedangkan siswa yang tinggal di rumah sebesar 17,33. (3) tidak terdapat perbedaan karakter siswa yang tinggal di pesantren dan di rumah pada proses pembelajaran IPS.Kata kunci: karakter, disiplin, jujur, mandiri, pembelajaran IPS. THE CHARACTER OF THE STUDENTS LIVING IN THE BOARDING SCHOOL AND AT HOME IN THE SOCIAL SCIENCE LEARNINGAbstractThis research aims to reveal the characters of the students, the difference of characters of the students living in the boarding school and those living at home, and the characters of the students living in the boarding school and those living at home in the social science learning process. This comparative explanatory research used mix-method with the concurrent triangulation strategy. The population was 121 grade VIII students of Junior High School Diponegoro Depok. The sample was established using the saturated sampling technique. The quantitative data analysis used the statistical technique of Independent T-test and the qualitative data analysis was done inductively by using Miles and Huberman models consisting of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing/verification. The results are as follows. (1) the students of Diponegoro Junior High School, living in either boarding school or at home, have overall discipline character in the low category, however, honesty and independence characters in the medium category; (2) there is no difference in the character of the students living in the boarding school and at home. There are differences in the average value at each new character between the two groups of students. The discipline character value of the students living in the boarding school is 27.13, while those living at home is 26.31; the honesty character value of the students living in the boarding school is 13.70, while those living at home is 13.68; and the independence character value of the students living in the boarding school is 17.74, while that of those living at home is 17.33. (3) there is no difference in the character of the students living in the boarding school and that of those living at home in social science learning processes.Keywords: character, discipline, honesty, Independence, social science learning

Abstract

Revitalization of history learning for senior high schools in the 2013 Curriculum implemented in science and social classes could affect the use of learning models. Learning models had elements as learning approaches, strategies, methods, and media that had to be correctly customized and implemented. It encouraged the researcher to conduct research on comparison of history learning models in science and social classes in SMA Angkasa Indonesia. This research aimed to analyze similarities and differences between learning models used in science classes and that used in social classes under the “Indonesian History” subject study implemented in SMA Angkasa Adisutjipto Indonesia. This research was descriptive-qualitative research done by comparing history learning models and performed through interviews and observations in science and social classes. Research subjects consisted of the head of curriculum division, history teachers, and students from both science and social classes. Data were collected in forms of information from informants, field observations, and facts on documents gathered. Research findings indicated that history learning in science classes of SMA Angkasa was dominated by the use of linguistic (writing), logical-mathematical, and interpersonal (independent) intelligences. Suitable learning models for science students were problem-based learning, independent learning, exercises, tasking, causal-relationship reasoning regarding history materials, and contextual learning in history. Meanwhile, intelligence found in social classes of SMA Angkasa was dominated by linguistic, interpersonal, spatial (visual, imagination), and kinetic intelligences. Hence, suitable learning models for social students should have been in forms of cooperative learning (discussions, questions-answers); active, creative, effective, and fun learning; role-playing; and contextual and thematic learning

Abstract

This article reviews the thoughts of KH. Hasyim Ash'ari concerning Islam and nationality. The method in this research is the library research method with a descriptive analysis study. The analytical study uses content analysis and descriptive analysis related to Islamic thought and nationality KH. Hasyim Ash'ari. The results showed that the problem that was found today was that a phenomenon had happened to the life of the Indonesian nation, with the re-emergence of groups that opposed Islam and nationality (Indonesian-ness). So, it is necessary to tune in KH. Hasyim Ash’ari about Islam and nationality, KH. Hasyim Asy'ari himself has proven that the two do not need to be contested because they are the realm of one concept of struggle. Islamic thought KH. Hasyim Ash'ari has a traditional Islamic style that focuses on the fields of Sufism, theology (ahlussunah wal jama'ah), and fiqh. Meanwhile, his national thinking about political ideas was used as a struggle to unite the people and confront confrontation with the Colonial as well as efforts to fight for Indonesian independence.Artikel ini menalaah kembali tentang pemikiran KH. Hasyim Asy’ari mengenai keislaman dan kebangsaan. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kepustakaan (library research) dengan studi analisis deskriptif. Studi analisis menggunakan analisis conten dan deskriptif terkait pemikiran keislaman dan kebangsaan KH. Hasyim Asy’ari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan, bahwa permasalahan yang didapatkan deawasa ini adalah terjadi fenomena yang menimpa  kehidupan bangsa Indonesia, dengan kembali munculnya golongan-golongan yang mempertentangkan keislaman dan kebangsaan (keindonesiaan). Maka, perlu menalaah pemikiran KH. Hasyim Asy’ari tentang keislaman dan kebangsaan, KH. Hasyim Asy’ari sendiri telah membuktikan bahwa keduanya tidak perlu dipertentangkan, karena keduanya adalah ranah dalam satu konsep perjuangan. Pemikiran keislaman KH. Hasyim Asy’ari bercorak Islam tradisional yang berfokus pada bidang tasawuf, teologi (ahlussunah wal jama’ah) dan fiqh. Sedangkan, pemikiran kebangsaannya mengenai ide-ide politik yang digunakan sebagai perjuangan untuk mempersatukan umat dan melakukan konfrontasi terhadap Kolonial serta usaha dalam memperjuangkan kemerdekaan Indonesia

Abstract

This research aims at investigating the needs for image media of "be a scientist" developed using Adobe Flash CS3 program containing the materials of the influence of religion and Islamic culture in Indonesia for learning History of grade X Vocational School and examining the feasibility of "be a Scientist" media developed using Adobe Flash CS3 program containing the materials of the influence of religion and Islamic culture in Indonesia which was developed to be used in the process of learning the history for grade X of Vocational school. This research employed Research and Development (R D) method. The product developed is in the form of "be a scientist" image media using Adobe Flash CS3 program that is appropriate for a learning resource in History subjects. The stages of research include: (1) the preliminary stage, (2) the planning stage of the model as the development of the initial product form, (3) the testing, evaluation and revision stages, and (4) the implementation stage or effectiveness test. Data were colected using FGD (Focus Group Discussion), questionnaires, interviews, observations, and documentation techniques. The validity of the instrument is achieved through expert judgement, while the validity of qualitative data is carried out using source triangulation techniques, theories and methods. Quantitative data analysis was performed using descriptive analysis techniques and qualitative data was carried out using an interactive models. The results show that: Adobe Flash CS 3 media images were needed in vocational schools for the development of history learning. The results of the assessment performed by the experts on material and media indicate that  "be a scientist" image media using Adobe Flash CS3 program for history learning in Vocational High Schools has a good level of feasibility. This shows that the  "be a Scientist" media using the Adobe Flash CS3 program contaiing the material of religious influence and Islamic culture in Indonesia is suitable for history learning in Vocational High Schools grade X.

Abstract

This research aims at analyzing the importance of deliberation values in developing democracy education in Indonesia. This research is a qualitative-historical research, i.e. reconstructing the expression and role of Soedirman struggle and his figure values, especially the value of deliberation. The values were then explored thoroughly using a sociological approach and some of the religious dimensions to get an idea of a more fundamental deliberation value as the principles of democratic development.The results show that Soedirman was successful becoming a leader both within the civil and military community and capable of upholding the values of the deliberation in performing his figure tasks. However, the deliberation values tend to be fading in this reformation era. Also, democracy is liberal and tends to be overly practiced. This should be improved by developing democracy education through the revitalization of deliberation values. The revitalization can be realized by performing dialogues and following deliberation traditions practiced by Soedirmanin order to strenghtenthe implementation of Pancasila-based democracy (Pancasila Democracy).Keywords: Figure values, deliberation, democracy.

Abstract

At reformation era the identity crisis amongst the members of Al-Irsyad became manifest which directed to split in 20027. This article aims to analyze the Hadrami, the community of Arab descendent, at dealing the issues of Islam and the state at the period of 1990s – 2007. This research find out that at Reformation era, some members of Al-Irsyad suffered from disorientation manifested in the form of internal conflict, contestation, and then split in 2007. It started from the infiltration of the contemporary Salafi which causes its members diverted from the early goals of Al-Irsyad. These disorientated members, based on the Salafi ideology, made movement claimed as a kind of khittah, that is to restore the organization in line with the early goals of Al-Irsyad. This movement, then, created conflict and contestation within Al-Irsyad which 1n 2007 resulted in the split of organization into Al-Irsyad al-Islamiyah and Perhimpunan Al-Irsyad.Key words: Al-Irsyad, Hadrami community, identity crisis, Split, Salafi.

Abstract

H. O. S. Tjokroaminoto merupakan tokoh pergerakan yang sangat berpengaruh di Indonesia, terutama pemikiran-pemikirannya terkait Sosialisme Islam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui: (1) dasar pemikiran sosialisme; (2) sosialisme Barat dan sosialisme Islam; (3) pemikiran sosialisme Islam Tjokroaminoto. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode penelitian sejarah oleh Kuntowijoyo yang terdiri dari lima tahap. Tahap yang pertama adalah pemilihan topik. Tahap kedua adalah pengumpulan sumber baik sumber primer maupun sekunder. Tahap ketiga adalah verifikasi atau kritik sumber. Tahap keempat adalah interpretasi untuk menafsirkan fakta-fakta sejarah yang ditemukan. Tahap kelima adalah historiografi atau penulisan sejarah. Hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) Sosialisme Barat lahir dari masyarakat industri Eropa pada abad ke-19 dimana terjadi ketimpangan kondisi sosial, ekonomi, dan politik. Sosialisme Barat tidak terkait dengan kondisi agama. (2) Prinsip keadilan, kesetaraan, dan persaudaraan merupakan prinsip yang dipegang teguh baik oleh sosialisme Islam maupun sosialisme Barat. Sosialisme Islam dibangun atas dasar ketentuan atau aturan-aturan berdasarkan firman Allah dan hadist Rasulullah. Sosialisme Islam juga dibangun atas dasar keyakinan terhadap keberadaan Allah sebagai zat yang Maha Kuasa. (3) Pemikiran politik H.O.S. Tjokroaminoto tentang sosialisme Islam memberikan gambaran tentang paham sosialisme yang dibangun atas dasar ajaran agama Islam, yang bersumber dari Al-Quran dan As-Sunnah. Sosialisme Islam yang dikemukakan oleh Tjokroaminoto merupakan sosialisme yang telah berjalan sejak masa kepemimpinan Rasulullah S.A.W dan para sahabatnya. Dengan demikian sosialisme Islam tidaklah dipengaruhi oleh paham sosialisme yang berasal dari Barat yang baru berkembang pada abad ke-19.

Abstract

K-pop (Korean Pop) culture, is currently a trend among female students in Islamic boarding schools. K-pop who are born not from Islamic circles certainly have a culture that is different from the teachings of Islam which have been taught in Islamic boarding schools, which maintain and teach traditional Islam. The study aims to reveal about the impact of K-pop modernity for students lifestyles in MTs Ali Maksum Pondok Pesantren Krapyak, Yogyakarta and the impact of K-pop on character education in social science learning. This study used the qualitative descriptive method with phenomenological approach. The data collecting technique was through observation, interviews, and documentation, with data analysis technique Miles and Huberman model. The results of this study indicate that Individual lifestyle can be observed by three dimensions which are activity, interest, and opinion. On activity, the majority of free time for K-popers students is used for things related to K-pop and spending on products related to K-pop. Whereas in the dimension of interest, K-popers students, love and prioritize things related to K-pop. In the opinion, K-popers students argue that K-pop has a positive and negative impact. The high consumption intensity of K-pop also has an impact on the reduced concentration of students during social studies learning, so character education in social studies learning is not well conveyed.Budaya K-pop (Korean Pop), saat ini menjadi tren di kalangan siswi di pesantren. K-pop yang lahir bukan dari kalangan agama Islam tentu memiliki budaya yang berbeda dengan ajaran Islam yang selama ini diajarkan di pesantren, yang menjaga serta mengajarkan ketradisionalan Islam. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak modernitas yang dibawa oleh K-pop terhadap gaya hidup siswi MTs Ali Maksum Pondok Pesantren Krapyak Yogyakarta serta dampaknya terhadap pendidikan karakter pada pembelajaran IPS. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi dengan teknik analisis data model Miles dan Huberman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Gaya hidup individu dapat diukur melalui tiga dimensi yaitu aktivitas, minat, dan opini. Pada aktivitas, mayoritas waktu luang siswi K-popers digunakan untuk hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan K-pop dan pembelanjaan produk yang terkait dengan K-pop. Pada minat, siswi K-popers hanya menyukai dan memprioritaskan hal-hal yang berkaitan dengan K-pop. Pada opini, siswi K-popers berpendapat bahawa K-pop memberikan dampak positif dan negatif. Intensitas konsumsi yang tinggi terhadap K-pop juga berdampak pada berkurangnya konsentrasi siswi pada saat pembelajaran IPS, sehingga pendidikan karakter pada pembelajaran IPS tidak tersampaikan dengan baik

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji nilai-nilai yang terkandung dalam kearifan lokal kalosara dan akan diintegrasikan kedalam pembelajaran sejarah guna membangun karakter peserta didik. Fokus penelitian ini adalah proses pewarisan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal kalosara terhadap peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan etnografi. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: nilai-nilai kearifan lokal kalosara yang dapat diaktualisasikan dan diinternalisasikan dalam pembelajaran sejarah antara lain: pertama, nilai kepemimpinan yang berintikan persatuan dan kesatuan (medulu mepoko’aso), keserasian dan keharmonisan, kesucian dan keadilan (ate pute penao moroha), nilai keamanan, kedamaian, keadilan dan kesejahteraan (morini mbu’umbundi monapa mbu’undawaro), kedua, budaya malu (kohanu), ketiga, budaya gotong royong (samaturu), dan keempat, budaya sopan santun (meiro’u) yang meliputi saling hormat-menghormati (mombekapona-pona’ako), dan saling kasih-mengasihi (mombekamei-meiri’ako). Pewarisan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal kalosara sangat penting, selain menjadikan pembelajaran sejarah semakin menarik dan bermakna, juga dapat berfungsi sebagai alat bagi penguatan karakter anak didik untuk mempersiapkan diri dalam menghadapi tantangan masa kini dan masa yang akan datang, sehingga peserta didik memiliki pengetahuan moral, perasaan moral, dan tindakan moral dalam memahami nilai-nilai luhur yang terdapat dalam kebudayaannya. Pewarisan nilai-nilai kearifan lokal kalosara dapat tercapai dengan efektif apabila ada kerjasama antara lingkungan keluarga, masyarakat, dan Sekolah dalam menginternalisasikan nilai budaya tersebut sebagai bagian sumber belajar bagi pembelajaran sejarah di Sekolah.   Kata Kunci: Pewarisan Nilai, Kalosara, Pembelajaran Sejarah

Abstract

Momen penyelamatan penting Natsir untuk mencegah disintegrasi bangsa adalah Mosi Integral Natsir. Tujuan artikel ini adalah menganalisis hubungan antara negara dan Islam dalam Mosi Integral Natsir. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode sejarah Kuntowijoyo dengan langkah-langkah pemilihan topik, heuristik, kritik sumber, interpretasi dan historiografi. Mosi Integral Natsir dalam konsepsi Islam dan negara bisa dilihat dalam dua konteks kesejahteraan dan persatuan. Indonesia menurut beliau secara de facto dalam persoalan kenegaraan tidak bisa dipisahkan dari agama sehingga Republik Indonesi Serikat perlu dilebur kembali ke Republik Indonesia negara yang ideal menurut Islam. Negara bertujuan untuk mencukupi kebutuhan masyarakat dalam jasmani maupun rohani dimana hak dan kewajiban yang menurut Islam perlu dipenuhi negara tidak mencukupi.
