Abstract

This study aims to help students become more confident and courageous in expressing their opinions and desires, known as assertive behavior. The intervention was conducted through group guidance services in the classroom using simulation games. This research employed a Guidance and Counseling Action Research (PTBK) method in two cycles. The sample consisted of 42 tenth-grade students from SMA Negeri 2 Kota Kediri. Assertive behavior was measured using a Likert-scale instrument consisting of 29 statements. The collected data were analyzed descriptively to observe changes in students’ assertive behavior scores. The results showed an increase in the average assertive behavior score from 80 (moderate category) in the pre-test to 86 (moderate category) in the post-test after the first cycle. Further, they improved to 91 (high category) in the post-test after the second cycle. These findings indicate that applying simulation games through classical guidance services effectively enhances students’ assertive behavior. The implication of this study serves as a foundation for developing classical guidance programs in schools that utilize simulation games as a medium to enhance students’ assertive behavior.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the application of classical guidance services through the use of the think pair and share (TPS) method in providing understanding and classifying the learning styles of each participant in class X-1 of SMA Negeri 2 Kediri. The methodology adopted in this study is called a quantitative approach, and to support the research, the author uses a research method with the use of numerical data that can be searched using classroom action research. Based on the implementation of the services provided, there is an increase in students' understanding of learning styles. Students who have an understanding of their learning styles are 79%, and 9 students with a percentage of 21% have a significant increase in scores related to students' understanding of learning styles. Qualification data shows that students have a visual learning style of 20 students with a percentage of 48%, followed by auditory covering 20 students with a percentage of 48% and the remaining 2 students or 4% have a kinesthetic learning style. Overall, this approach not only helps provide an understanding of students' learning styles, but also has a positive impact on students' personal development, communication skills, and social relations. Based on this, the TPS method can be used as an effective and innovative strategy to help students to provide understanding and classify student learning styles.

Abstract

Emotional management skills are crucial in shaping students’ social-emotional development, yet many still experience difficulties in recognizing, understanding, and regulating their emotions effectively. This study aims to improve students’ emotional management through the application of the projective drawing technique in classical guidance services. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) involving 40 tenth-grade students (16 males and 24 females) at SMA Negeri 2 Kediri. The study was conducted in two cycles, each consisting of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected using an emotional management scale, observation sheets, and student worksheets (LKPD). The findings revealed a consistent improvement in students’ emotional management skills, with average achievement increasing from 52% in the pre-cycle, to 62% in the first cycle, and 72% in the second cycle. Beyond statistical results, positive changes were also observed in classroom interactions, where students became more expressive, open, and able to regulate their emotions constructively. The study concludes that the projective drawing technique is effective in enhancing students’ emotional management and may serve as an alternative strategy for school counselors in developing innovative guidance practices.

Abstract

Guidance and Counseling is a system, which includes: problems, objectives, techniques, media and evaluation. A technique in implementing BK services cannot stand alone, therefore it needs to be accommodated by a medium. The function of guidance and counseling media is to expedite the process of implementing the guidance and counseling services. The technique chosen is the GURU Process (Ground, Understand, Revise, Use) while the media chosen is the "GURU-Career" training package. The aim of this research is to produce guidance and counseling media in the form of a "GURU-Career" Training Package that can be accepted theoretically and practically. This research uses research and development methods. The development model used is the Borg & Gall 1983 research and development model. This training package consists of 2 copies, namely 1) a training package for counselors and 2) a training package for counselors. Based on the results of the BK expert test, educational media development expert test, user test and small group test on 6 BK students (counselor candidates) it can be concluded that the "GURU-Career" training package has proven worthy of being accepted as a guidance and counseling medium to increase candidate career self-efficacy. counselor. Suggestions put forward in this research include that guidance and counseling lecturers and guidance and counseling teachers/counselors can use the "GURU-Career" training package to increase the career self-efficacy of prospective counselors, can use this training package as a means of personal development for counselors, for future researchers can use broader research subjects, changing the research design to experimental research with a control group as well as guidance and counseling action research.

Abstract

Nowadays a lot of counselor labeling their counselee which caused counselor’s lack of multicultural insights. Labeling may have a poor impact on the counselor’s decision in selecting counseling intervention strategies. The multicultural insights of counselors must be enhanced by building an ideal character in themselves. This ideal character is concerned with the understanding and behavior of counselors to respond the condition of heterogeneous counselees and how high the curiosity, interest and motivation of counselors to constantly add multicultural insights that they have. The noble values contained within Semar can be attributed to how the ideal character of multicultural counselors. This study aims to explain the ideal character of multicultural counselor taken from the noble value of Semar as well as linking the character with multicultural competence of counselor. This research uses qualitative approach of library research type. The ideal characteristics of multicultural counselors that can be formulated include: (1) religious; (2) neutral; (3) tolerance; (4) sincere; (5) discipline; (6) social care; (7) friendly; (8) fair; (9) honest; (10) supple; (11) democratic; and (12) curiosity.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Roda Pelangi game to improve elementary school students’ fairness character. The research method was an experiment with a nonequivalent control group design type. The research instruments were: interview guidelines; observation guidelines; and Fairness Character Measurement Scale. The sample were twelve fourth grade students of Permata Ummat Trenggalek Integrated Islamic Elementary School that was chosen through purposive sampling. The significance score obtained based on data analysis using independent sample t-test was 0.047<0.05. The result showed Roda Pelangi game can improve elementary school students’ fairness character. Based on these results, it recommended: school counselor can use Roda Pelangi game in the guidance and counseling service process, especially to improve elementary school students’ fairness character; further researchers can use Roda Pelangi game to examine other variables and at other school levels using other research designs such as true experiment or guidance and counseling action research.

Abstract

Needs assessment is the main thing performed by school counselors as a basis for developing a guidance and counseling service program. In conducting needs assessment, problems that frequently occur are related to ratios, feasibility and practicality of instruments, as well as needs assessment procedures. One solution that can be used to overcome these problems is the use of application analysis needs of students based on text communication media. This research aims to determine the efficiency of students’ needs analysis application based on text communication media on vocational high school students. The research method used was experiment with the one-group pretest-posttest design technique. The research population was 45 vocational high school counselors in Kediri city. The percentage of random sampling was 25% of the total population, so the number of subjects was 11 people. The research instrument was the Students’ Needs Efficiency Assessment Questionnaire by the school counselor and interviews. The research data were analyzed in descriptively and comparative tests. Based on the analysis results, the needs assessment of text-based media communication is to improve the efficiency of students’ assessment declared efficient.

Abstract

The discriminative behavior upon individual personalities that multicultural counselors have frequently operated causes low neutrality in encountering an issue and individual labeling. That behavior indicates the counselors lack impartial character. Thus, this study aims to develop a guidance and counseling media of Badranaya (multicultural counseling board game) that promote unbiased character, referring to Semar’s great characters. It used modified Borg and Gall development procedures, while its data were obtained through valid and reliable experts assessment questionnaire and impartial character scale. The numerical data analysis results from guidance and counseling experts, as well as educational media development experts, signify that this media is highly feasible to be used. Meanwhile, the qualitative data from experts in the related fields also confirms the media’s feasibility to be adopted as a new educational media breaktrough, primarily in prospective counselors’ education. Additionally, the paired sample test results also show an increase in the multicultural counselors’ impartial character after they play Badranaya.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The "GURU-Karier" training package is a visual medium through its printing process which consists of a series of material presentations and operational steps to be delivered to the target subject and in its operational process using the stages of the TEACHER process (Ground, Understand, Revise and Use). This training package is used as a medium in the process of delivering the message of guidance as in the training process to improve self-efficacy career prospective counselor. The purpose of this study is to determine the success of the training package "GURU-Career" in improving self-efficacy career S1 undergraduate students UN PGRI Kediri. The research approach used is quantitative with experimental technique and the selected type is one group pretest-posttest design. The research instrument used is the observation guidance and the scale of self-efficacy career measurement. Research subjects were chosen purposively by criteria: 1) 7th semester student of BK UN PGRI Kediri academic year 2016-2017 having low and very low career self efficacy level; 2) the student has implemented PPL 2. This research proves that the self efficacy of the counselor candidate increases after training using "TEACHER-Career" Training Package. This is evidenced by the significance score of paired sample t test of 0.000, where this score is less than 0.05. Based on these results, it is suggested to BK Teachers /counselors and BK lecturers to use the training package "GURU-Karier" as a medium in the implementation of group guidance, especially in the process of self-efficacy improvement of career. In addition, researchers interested in using the "GURU-Karier" training package may use broader research subjects such as in the context of classroom guidance and use experimental research designs with control groups as well as the design of Counseling Action Research and Counseling (PTBK). Key words: The "GURU-Karier" training package, Self-efficacy careers; Prospective counselor Paket pelatihan “GURU-Karier” merupakan media visual yang pembuatannya melalui proses pencetakan dimana di dalamnya terdiri dari serangkaian sajian materi serta langkah-langkah operasional yang akan diberikan kepada subjek sasaran dan dalam proses operasionalnya tersebut menggunakan tahapan dari proses GURU (Ground, Understand, Revise dan Use). Paket pelatihan ini digunakan sebagai media dalam proses penyampaian pesan bimbingan seperti dalam proses pelatihan untuk meningkatkan efikasi diri karier calon konselor. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui keberhasilan paket pelatihan “GURU-Karier” dalam meningkatkan efikasi diri karier mahasiswa S1 BK UN PGRI Kediri. Pendekatan penelitian yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan teknik eksperimental dan jenis yang dipilih adalah one group pretest-posttest design. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan adalah pedoman observasi dan skala pengukuran efikasi diri karier. Subjek penelitian dipilih secara purposive yaitu dengan kriteria: 1) mahasiswa semester 7 S1 BK UN PGRI Kediri tahun ajaran 2016-2017 yang memiliki tingkat efikasi diri karier rendah dan sangat rendah; 2) mahasiswa tersebut telah melaksanakan PPL 2. Penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa efikasi diri calon konselor meningkat setelah dilakukan pelatihan dengan menggunakan Paket Pelatihan “GURU-Karier”. Hal ini dibuktikan dengan skor signifikasi dari hasil paired sample t test sebesar 0,000, dimana skor ini kurang dari 0,05. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut disarankan kepada Guru BK/konselor dan para dosen BK agar menggunakan paket pelatihan “GURU-Karier” sebagai media dalam pelaksanaan bimbingan kelompok khususnya dalam proses peningkatan efikasi diri karier. Selain itu bagi peneliti yang berminat untuk menggunakan paket pelatihan “GURU-Karier” dapat menggunakan subjek penelitian yang lebih luas misalnya dalam konteks bimbingan klasiskal dan menggunakan rancangan penelitian eksperimental dengan kelompok kontrol serta rancangan Penelitian Tindakan Bimbingan dan Konseling (PTBK). Abstract

Penelitian ini berdasarkan dari hasil praktek kerja lapangan peneliti, bahwa kemampuan komunikasi peserta didik kelas XI IPS di SMAN 7 Kota Kediri rendah. Rumusan masalah yang diambil adalah “Adakah pengaruh pemberian bimbingan teman sebaya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal peserta didik kelas XI IPS di SMAN 7 kota kediri tahun ajaran 2018/2019?”. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan metode pre experimental design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas XI IPS SMAN 7 Kota Kediri sebanyak 134 peserta didik, dengan sampel penelitian kelas XI IPS 1 sebanyak 5 peserta didik, kelas XI IPS 2 sebanyak 3 peserta didik kelas XI IPS 3 sebanyak 4 peserta didik, kelas XI IPS 4 sebanyak 7 peserta didik dan kelas XI IPS 5 sebanyak 3 peserta didik. Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah skala kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal. Hasil uji reliabilitas menggunakan Alpha Cronbach yakni sebesar 0,788. Penelitian ini menggunakan independent sample t-test untuk mengetahui pengaruh bimbingan teman sebaya terhadap kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal peserta didik. Berdasarkan hasil uji independent sample t-test diperoleh t hitung lebih besar dari t tabel yaitu 34,799> 2,080 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Maka H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima, artinya bahwa bimbingan teman sebaya berpengaruh untuk meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi interpersonal peserta didik kelas XI IPS di SMAN 7 Kota Kediri.
