Abstract

Research aims: This study examines the mediating role of job satisfaction among employees of a Power Generation Company in Indonesia and its relationship with compensation, training, career development, and turnover intention.Design/Methodology/Approach: This research utilized a cross-sectional survey involving 263 respondents representing all employees. The Partial Least Square Structural Equation Model (PLS-SEM) approach was employed to analyze the data, and SmartPLS was used to process multiple independent variables and test quantitative data.Research findings: The research findings indicate that compensation and career development do not have a significant direct effect on turnover intention. However, training and job satisfaction have a significant direct impact on turnover intention. The indirect relationship reveals that career development, through the mediating variable of job satisfaction, has no significant relationship with turnover intention. However, compensation and training, through the mediating variable of job satisfaction, have a significant relationship with turnover intention.Theoretical Contribution/Originality: The current study aims to expand on the existing literature by examining job satisfaction as a mediating variable between HRM practices (compensation, training, and career development) and employees' intention to leave (turnover intention).Practitioners/Policy Implications: Companies must provide satisfactory employee job satisfaction, as job satisfaction is a key mediating factor in the relationship between compensation and training that can influence turnover intention.Research Limitations/Implications: The practical implications of this study suggest that companies should strive to retain their employees by ensuring their well-being. The research findings indicate that providing employees with more training and certifications may increase their likelihood to seek opportunities at other companies. This outcome aligns with the human capital theory, as the knowledge, competence, and skills acquired by employees become inherent qualities associated with the employees themselves.

Abstract

The quality of teacher performance is very important today because it directly impacts student learning outcomes and the success of overall educational goals. Ensuring teachers receive support and continuous development is key to maintaining high educational standards. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the influence of workload and perceived organizational support (POS) on teacher performance mediated by work-life balance (WLB). To gather data for this study, which employs an explanatory quantitative methodology, 185 elementary and high school teachers in Malang City were given an online questionnaire. Data analysis was processed using the Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) technique with SmartPLS software. The findings revealed that workload did not affect WLB and teacher performance. POS affected WLB and teacher performance, and WLB influenced teacher performance. Meanwhile, workload does not affect teacher performance through WLB, but WLB can mediate the influence of POS on teacher performance. These findings show that to improve teacher performance, schools must focus more on increasing perceived organizational support rather than workload. Perceived organizational support can improve work-life balance and overall performance. Workload should be managed through policies that ensure balanced distribution and institutional support. Schools and policymakers must provide flexible work arrangements and professional development to enhance work-life balance and teacher performance.

Abstract

Remote workers from Generation Z and Millennial increasingly seek new job opportunities when required to return to entirely on-site work. This trend highlights the critical importance of work-life balance and work flexibility policies for these demographics. As such, flexibility and balance are essential priorities that companies must incorporate into their workplace strategies. This study examines the moderating role of resilience in the relationship between work flexibility and work-life balance. The inclusion of resilience as a moderator seeks to address the inconsistent findings observed in prior studies concerning the impact of work flexibility on work-life balance. The research involved a purposive sample of 132 Generation Z and Millennial employees working in startup companies across Indonesia. Data analyzed using Smart Partial Least Square version 4.0. The results revealed that both work flexibility and resilience significantly influence work-life balance. However, resilience did not significantly moderate the relationship between work flexibility and work-life balance. These findings imply that while resilient individuals experience better work-life balance, resilience alone does not enhance the benefits of flexible work arrangements. For startup companies, offering flexibility remains a key strategy for supporting work-life balance. At the same time, organizations can further support their employees by fostering personal development and well-being through programs that build resilience. Combining both approaches may lead to a healthier, more motivated, and more productive workforce.

Abstract

Entrepreneurial activities are a manifestation of alternative activities that can be carried out by the community in providing jobs, as well as increasing the main income. Marketing is one of the most important concepts that entrepreneurs need to do. MSME business actors need to do the right branding and package products properly to increase product competitiveness. One of the MSME actors, namely the Bumbu Pecel MSME, Bu Yuni, has not done branding and packaging on the products sold, so it is felt that it is necessary to carry out a branding and packaging assistance program for these MSMEs. The methods of activities carried out are knowledge sharing, discussion, assistance in making branding and packaging, and evaluation. The benefits obtained from service activities are that MSMEs as partners gain knowledge and attractive branding and packaging concepts that can be used to increase sales which will drive economic value for MSMEs.
