Abstract

Islamic banks function as financial intermediaries that mobilize public funds through Sharia-compliant contracts and channel them into financing activities. The primary source of financing comes from Third-Party Funds, while liquidity risks and financing strategies play a critical role in determining financial performance. This study aims to see the effect of Non-Performing Financing, Third Party Funds, and liquidity on the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia. Non-Performing Financing is represented by Non-Performing Financing ratio and liquidity is represented by Short-Term Mistmach ratio. Profitability is represented by the Return on Asset ratio. The method employed in this study is a quantitative research method. The data utilized consist of secondary data from Islamic Banking Statistics covering the period from the first quarter of 2015 to the fourth quarter of 2023. The results of this study show that DPK has a significant effect on the profitability of Islamic banks. While NPF and liquidity have no significant effect on the profitability of Islamic banks. The mobilization of Third-Party Funds constitutes a key strategy for enhancing the profitability of Islamic banks in Indonesia, while prudent management of non-performing financing (NPF) and liquidity is essential to sustain stability and maintain public confidence in the Islamic banking sector.

Abstract

Financial technology is very useful in facilitating financial transactions worldwide. It was created to make getting funds and managing finances easier, which can improve people’s welfare. However, it also poses a threat in the form of loans from financial technology lending companies that are not licensed and illegally operate so that customers can be bound by huge interest rates and terrorized by debt collectors. Therefore, this study aims to analyze literacy about financial technology and demographic factors that affect welfare. The analysis results show that most respondents are still ignorant or do not understand the benefits of fin-tech for improving their welfare, and the respondents’ welfare is only affected by age. Although 92% of respondents have savings, these savings do not use fin-tech. Fin-tech is still seen as something that plunges like a shark loan trap, so most respondents still avoid fin-tech for their financial management. Respondents still do not use fin-tech optimally and urgently need education and socialization related to fin-tech.

Abstract

Stock price is an important indicator to describe the potential profit of investment and also reflects the company's performance in the eyes of investors. Therefore, it is important for companies to maintain good financial performance so that stock prices remain stable or increase. Although there have been many studies discussing the factors that affect stock prices, there are still few studies conducted specifically on sharia-based companies in the Hotel, Resort, and Cruise Line sub-sector in Indonesia. In addition, there are still few studies that combine internal factors (such as profitability and capital structure) and external factors (such as the Covid-19 pandemic) in one analysis simultaneously. This study aims to examine the effect of profitability (as measured by Earning Per Share (EPS), Price to Earning Ratio (PER), and Net Profit Margin (NPM)), capital structure (as measured by Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR)), and external conditions (as represented by the Covid-19 dummy variable) on the stock prices of companies in the Hotel, Resort, and Cruise Lines sub-sector listed on the Indonesian Sharia Stock Index (ISSI). The data used are secondary data from company financial reports and publications of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 2017–2023. The population in this study consisted of 19 companies, with a sample of 14 companies selected using purposive sampling techniques. The analysis method used is multiple panel data regression. The results of the study show that EPS and PER have a positive effect on stock prices, while DAR has a negative effect on stock prices. NPM and the Covid-19 dummy have no effect on stock prices. Based on these findings, companies are advised to increase profitability and manage capital structure well in order to maintain investor confidence and support positive stock price movements

Abstract

To support the achievement of the quality of the nation's education through higher education, it should be in harmony and synergy with the activities of the Tri Dharma Lecturer. One of the program is international community service. This community service will be applied to the Indonesian worker community under the Indonesian Embassy, Malaysia. The demand for holistic education is increasingly urgent. The young generation, including Generation Alpha, must be equipped with knowledge, skills and strong values to face the increasingly complex challenges of the future. Anti-corruption education is an important aspect of the education process that is often overlooked or lacking in the formal curriculum. The Indonesian workers' community under the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia is a gathering place for Indonesian families living abroad, with a focus on education and youth development. Parents have a crucial role in shaping their children's education. However, they often need the right guidance and resources to support their children's development in these aspects. Given these conditions, there is a need to maximize the role of parents in anti-corruption education for the Alpha Generation within the Indonesian working community under the Indonesian Embassy in Malaysia. By involving parents in the education process, we can create an environment that supports the full development of children's potential and help them become citizens of the country that have good responsibility and integrity.

Abstract

Inflation is one of the economy's most important indicators and an economic challenge that is a concern for developing countries such as Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the influence of several variables that are suspected of having an influence on inflation in Indonesia. The independent variables include the money supply, BI rate, exchange rate, Gross Domestic Product, and imports. Data were obtained from the Bank Indonesia and Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) from 2010 to 2020. This study uses the Error Correction Model (ECM) to determine the effect of the independent variables in the short and long term. The study concluded that the money supply had a positive but not significant effect in the short term, but in the long term had a significant effect on inflation. The BI and exchange rates have a significant and positive effect on long-term and short-term inflation. Gross Domestic Product does not have a significant positive effect on inflation in both the long and short term. Imports show a positive but not significant with inflation in the long and short term.

Abstract

Fossil fuels are the major source of global emissions, with the Asia-Pacific region being the climate biggest polluter. Despite the global efforts to shift to cleaner energy, fossil fuels still dominate the energy mix. Therefore, renewable energy adoption needs to be encouraged more to improve economic sustainability. The Glasgow Climate Pact emphasises the importance of helping developing countries in addressing the climate change issue through financial support, capacity building, and technology transfer. Hence, this study examines the influence of green finance, open trade, and fossil fuel subsidies on renewable energy adoption in 38 countries from 2017 to 2023. By using dummy variables, this study makes a unique contribution by highlighting regional disparities, particularly in the Asia-Pacific region. To address heteroskedasticity, autocorrelation, and cross-sectional dependence in the model, this study used PCSE (Panel-Corrected Standard Errors) and FGLS (Feasible Generalised Least Squares). Four main findings emerged from this study: (1) Green finance significantly drives the adoption of renewable energy, indicating its potential as an important element in the transition effort towards cleaner energy sources. (2) Trade openness, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and government effectiveness have different effects on renewable energy utilisation, indicating their impact depends on the regional context. (3) Fossil fuel subsidies hinder the adoption of renewable energy, underscoring the importance of reforming these subsidies to accelerate the transition to renewable energy. (4) The Asia-Pacific region lags behind other regions in renewable energy utilisation, showing the unique structural and policy challenges to the region. These findings suggest the need for more green finance instruments, cross-border cooperation, and reduced fossil fuel subsidies, especially in developing countries and the Asia-Pacific region, to achieve global climate goals. This research emphasises the importance of technology transfer and capacity building to facilitate the transition to renewable energy. However, the short panel period in this study may obscure long-term trends. Thus, future research could extend the period and add more variables such as the role of energy storage, ESG framework, and environmental innovation in facilitating the transition to renewable energy.

Abstract

Many studies have identified the relationship between corruption and the socio-economic life of society. Generally, the results of research indicate that corruption is detrimental to the economy and society. Corruption can create burdens for society, companies, and the government. Therefore, the impact of corruption is calculated as a state loss. Corruption in the form of embezzlement occurs frequently in both the public and private sectors. Bribery and extortion are common in the public sector. Several studies related to corruption have identified the effects of corruption on social and economic life. Other studies have identified the implementation of corruption in the public and private sectors. This study will discuss the law enforcement of corruption. It identified decisions of law enforcement at the Supreme Court, specifically regarding corruption in the forestry sector. This study used content analysis to identify Supreme Court decision documents. The results indicate that a significant amount of corruption results from illegal land transfer and forest land ownership. The content analysis indicated that the Supreme Court's judicial system, particularly regarding corruption in the forestry sector, is quite fair. However, further analysis is needed regarding the sentences given to the defendants to decrease corruption.
