Abstract

The purposes of this research are to develop the practicum of organic chemistry 1 by using the Adobe Flash application and to describe the students feasibility and response to the practicum developed. This type of research used in this research is research and development. The sample in this research is 3rd semester students of Chemistry Education Study Program in the academic year of 2018/ 2019. The instruments used in this research are validation sheets of material and media experts and response questionnaires students after testing. Based on the results of research that has been done, several stages of development ranging from problem identification, data collection, product design, design validation, design revision, and product trials have been carried out. The results of the validation of material experts obtained an average of 4,20 (very valid category) and an average media expert of 4.275 (very valid category). For the readability test of the developed guide, it was obtained 4.204 (very interesting category and student response was 3,936 (interesting category). Based on the results of expert validation and testing to students, the development of the organic chemistry 1 practicum guide was feasible to be applied in learning activities in class.

Abstract

Conversion of CPO waste into biofuel is one of the efforts to find alternative energy to overcome Indonesia's energy crisis. The resulting methyl ester was further processed into biofuel by cracking process with Ni/TiO2 and Co/TiO2 catalysts at temperature > 350oC for 2.5 hours followed by distillation. Educational research was done by doing the learning process by using biofuel module. The optimum biofuel yield was obtained from cracking methyl ester with 5% Ni/TiO2 catalyst and 3% Co/TiO2 catalyst respectively of 66,67 and 61,90%. The physical and chemical properties of cracked biofuels with Ni/TiO2 and Co/ TiO2 catalysts have complied with ASTM standards for biofuel except acid numbers. There is an increase in student learning outcomes before and after using the module.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: 1) mengetahui besarnya arus listrik pada limbah ekstrak kulit durian, 2) mengetahui besarnya Beda Potensial listrik pada limbah ekstrak kulit durian, 3) mengetahui besarnya listrik dinamis yang dihasilkan oleh limbah ekstrak kulit durian, mengetahui tingkat kualitas modul yang dirancang, 4) mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa dengan menggunakan modul pada pokok bahasan Listrik Dinamis di kelas IX SMPN 11 Kota Bengkulu, dan 5) mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelompok tinggi, sedang dan rendah. Penelitian ini adalah Penelitian ini adalah merancang modul pembelajaran menggunakan limbah kulit durian sebagai sumber energi listrik pada pembelajaran listrik dinamis untuk meningkatkan kemampuan kognitif siswa kelas IX.C SMPN 11 Kota Bengkulu. Metode yang digunakan Discovery learning dengan menerapkan pembelajaran HOTS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan: 1) Nilai rata-rata kuat arus listrik yang dihasilkan dari ekstrak kulit durian menggunakan anoda Tembaga (Cu), Aluminium (Al), dan Besi (Fe) secara berurutan sebesar 1.175,2778 µA, 5,8911 µA, dan 0,0030 µA, 2) Nilai rata-rata tegangan listrik yang dihasilkan dari ekstrak kulit durian menggunakan anoda Tembaga (Cu), Aluminium (Al), dan Besi (Fe) secara berurutan sebesar 2,2917 Volt, 1,2772 Volt, dan 0,4556 Volt, 3) Nilai rata-rata daya listrik yang dihasilkan dari ekstrak kulit durian menggunakan anoda Tembaga (Cu), Aluminium (Al), dan Besi (Fe) secara berurutan sebesar 4.770,0089 µW, 10,1324 µW, dan 0,0017 µW, 4) Nilai rata-rata energi listrik untuk anoda Tembaga (Cu), Aluminium (Al), dan Besi (Fe) secara berurutan adalah sebesar 47.700,0889 µJ, 101,3232 µJ, dan 0,0169 µJ, 5) Kualitas rancangan modul yang digunakan sebagai bahan pembelajaran listrik dinamis adalah; rata-rata validasi isi sebesar 84,50% dalam katagori valid dan rata-rata validasi grafika sebesar 85,60 dalam katagori sangat valid. Hal ini menyatakan bahwa rancangan modul dapat digunakan sebagai bahan pembelajaran, 6) Terdapat peningkatan kemampuan kognitif siswa pada pokok bahasan listrik dinamis dibuktikan dengan nilai N-gain untuk kelompok tinggi sebesar 0,75 (tinggi), kelompok sedang sebesar 0,46 (sedang), dan kelompok rendah sebesar 0,30 (sedang), dan 7) Terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada kelompok tinggi, sedang dan rendah dibuktikan Fhitung sebesar 23,05 dan Ftabel sebesar 3,34 pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Fhitung> Ftabel, sehingga Ha diterima dan H0 ditolak.

Abstract

Abstrak Kegiatan ilmiah mahasiswa dapat dilakukan melalui kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Kelompok Ilmiah Remaja (KIR). Anggota KIR diharuskan memiliki keterampilan berpikir kritis dalam mencari topik untuk menulis makalah ilmiah. Salah satu metode pembelajaran yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pemikiran kritis siswa KIR adalah dengan mempelajari instruksi yang dibantu oleh video-assisted. Sebuah eksperimen semu dengan desain desain one pretest-posttest dilakukan untuk mengukur tingkat berpikir kritis anggota KIR dengan memberikan pretest sebelum mempelajari probing yang mendorong tes video-aided dan post setelah belajar dorongan video-assisted probing. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji efektivitas dan uji Wilcoxon. Hasil data dengan efek pengukuran nilai efek diperoleh E> 0,8 yang berarti ada peningkatan berpikir kritis sebelum dan sesudah belajar. Uji Wilcoxon diperoleh nilai p (Z) = 0,0344. Nilai p (Z) <0,05 yang berarti kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa meningkat dari pretest ke posttest. Kata kunci: Probing prompting; berpikir kritis; kelompok ilmiah remaja

Abstract

One of Bengkulu's local culture is the utilization of medicinal plants by the people of Bengkulu, especially South Bengkulu, namely "Simbagh Utak" (Hydnophytum formicarum) for treating various diseases including Gout. However, they still use naturally, there is no scientific studied. This study was aimed to analyze the effect of “Simbagh Utak” (H. formicarum) on the reduction of serum uric acid levels in hyperuricemia male mice. This study used 25 male mice, that devided into 5 groups. The control group was given pellet feed (G1). We injected the high purine feed treatment per-oral to induce hyperuricemia (Negative control, G2) and then given H. formicarum extract 5.3mg/30gW (G3), 10.2mg/30gW (G4) and 21,2mg/30gW (G5). Uric acid measurements were performed using a digital method with easy touch /GCU. The tubers were extracted with maceration, eluent selection and isolation of the isolated components was carried out using thin layer chromatography and column chromatography. The extraction results were analyzed of functional groups using FTIR. The result showed that “simbagh utak” extract 5.3mg/30gW, 10.2mg/30gW and 21,2mg/30gW could reduced uric acid levels of hyperuricemia male mice 34.1%, 48.0% dan 53.4% respectively. On this basis, we conclude that "Simbagh Utak" extract could reduced levels of uric acid M. musculus males who have experienced a state of hyperuricemia (excess uric acid) very significantly at a dose of 21.2mg /30gW.

Abstract

Medicinal plants ant nests or simbagh utak (Hydnophytum formicarum) are found in the Bengkulu area south of Bengkulu province. Simbagh utak tubers (H. formicarum) can empirically treat headaches, bruises and aches. H. formicarum also has cytotoxic, antioxidant and antibacterial activity. The purpose of this study was to determine the antidiabetic activity of the ethanolic extract of the medicinal plant simbagh utak (H. formicarum) against alloxan-induced mice, and Phytochemical Test to determine the content of secondary metabolites contained in the extract. The extract was obtained by maceration by soaking simbagh utak powder (H. formicarum) with 96% ethanol as solvent. The solvent contained in the ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum) was evaporated using a rotary evaporator to obtain ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum). Furthermore, the ethanolic extract of simbagh utak (H. formicarum) was tested on mice that had been induced by alloxan. The results showed that after the ANOVA and T-student statistical tests were carried out, it could be stated that the tuber extract of the Simbagh Utak (H. formicarum) plant was seen to be very significant in reducing blood sugar levels of male mice (Mus musculus) that had been induced by alloxan at a dose of 0.7056 g. /kg BW, and tuber extract of H. formicarum contained flavonoid and phenolic compounds. Flavonoid and phenolic compounds can act as free radical scavengers.
