Abstract

The problematic issue of water shortages is always happens in dry season because of rainwater absorption in the peat soil which dominates most of the Borneo region especially Rantau Panjang subdistrict. The river water around peatlands area has typical smell, colour, and taste. Peat water has to be processed rightly before it is used to fulfill domestic needs. Therefore, there should be an effort to process the peat water appropriately through counseling and training in producing simple water purifier which is easy to operate. This dedication on the training in producing water purifier was conducted at Sebawi district in Sambas regency. There were 24 residents of Rantau Panjang subdistricts attended this training. The training began with the counseling in how to produce water purifier. The counseling aimed at transferring knowledge of the importance of clean water for the residents of Rantau Panjang subdistrict. The next activity was the training in producing water purifiers from simply and locally available materials. In this activity, the participants were given opportunity to practice producing water purifier. The participants were so enthusiastic in this training. Keywords: training, producing, water purifier equipment.

Abstract

ABSTRAKThe importance of improving the quality of teaching is creating new innovations in designing new learning system so that students become more enthusiastic and motivated to achieve the expected learning outcomes. One way to measure the extent of improvement of the quality of learning is to develop assessment instruments that can be used to assess student learning outcomes. A proper assessment plays an important role in improving learning outcomes and in appreciation of the efforts made by learners. This study aimed to develop cognitive assessment instrument in School Chemistry I course for fourth semester students of chemistry education. Design and development of assessment instruments followed the 4D model, but only reached the stage of develop. Validity test of cognitive assessment instrument which was based on format suitability and display quality was tested to five experts. The results showed that cognitive assessment instrument had a valid level of validity and reliability value of 0.758. So cognitive assessment instrument developed already meet the criteria as a matter of quality and can be used as a test in the subject of School Chemistry I. Keywords: cognitive assessment instrument, School Chemistry I, Development ABSTRAK Pentingnya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran menuntut para pendidik menciptakan inovasi baru dalam merancang sistem pembelajaran baru agar peserta didik menjadi lebih semangat dan termotivasi sehingga dapat mencapai tujuan pembelajaran yang diharapkan. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan oleh pendidik untuk mengetahui sejauh mana peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran adalah dengan membuat instrumen penilaian yang dapat digunakan untuk menilai hasil belajar siswa. Penilaian yang tepat berperan penting dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar dan sebagai penghargaan atas usaha yang telah dilakukan oleh peserta didik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menghasilkan dan mengembangkan instrumen penilaian kognitif pada mata kuliah kimia sekolah untuk mahasiswa pendidikan kimia semester IV. Uji kelayakan instrumen penilaian kognitif ini didasarkan pada komponen kesesuaian format penilaian dan kualitas tampilan instrumen. Desain pengembangan instrumen penilaian ini mengikuti model 4D,  tetapi hanya sampai pada tahap develop. Subjek penilai kualitas instrumen terdiri dari 5 orang ahli. Hasil penelitian pengembangan instrumen penilaian kognitif ini mempunyai tingkat validitas yang valid dan nilai reliabilitas sebesar 0,758. Jadi instrumen penilaian kognitif yang dikembangkan sudah memenuhi kriteria sebagai soal yang berkualitas dan dapat digunakan sebagai alat tes pada mata kuliah Kimia Sekolah I. Kata kunci:  instrumen penilaian kognitif, kimia sekolah, pengembangan

Abstract

Telah dibuat dan dikarakterisasi suatu elektroda selektif ion (ESI) kromat tipe kawat terlapis. Komposisi optimum membran didapatkan dari campuran kitosan, alikuot 336-kromat, polivinilklorida (PVC) dan dioktilftalat (DOP) sebagai plasticizer dengan perbandingan 4:0,5:35:60,5 (% b/b) dalam pelarut THF (1:3 b/v). Penambahan alikuot 336-kromat dalam membran dengan bahan aktif kitosan dapat meningkatkan konduktivitas membran sehingga dapat menghasilkan karakter sifat dasar. Karakteristik dasar elektrode selektif ion kromat memberikan karakteristik optimum dengan faktor Nernst 29,77 mV/dek, rentang konsentrasi linier 10-6–10-1 M, waktu respon 40 detik, batas deteksi 1,95 x 10-6 M, usia pemakaian 49 hari. Abstract

Hasil belajar siswa dapat dipengaruhi dengan instrumen evaluasi yang digunakan oleh guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu instrumen evaluasi yang dapat diakses secara gratis adalah quizizz. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan hasil belajar serta untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh quizizz terhadap hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimen dengan rancangan penelitian nonequivalent control group design. Sampel pada penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas XI MIA 1 dan XI MIA 2. Teknik pengambilan sampel pada penelitian ini menggunakan teknik sampling jenuh, yaitu semua populasi digunakan sebagai sampel. Teknik yang dipilih dalam penelitian ini untuk mengumpulkan data adalah teknik pengukuran dan teknik komunikasi tidak langsung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pengaruh quizizz terhadap hasil belajar sebesar 0,54 dengan kategori sedang. Dengan demikian quizizz dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan tingkat karbohidrat optimal dalam pakan untuk mendukung kinerja pertumbuhanikan tengadak (Barbonymus achwanefeldii). Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan perlakuan yaitu tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan yang terdiri dari 4 taraf yaitu; 10%; 20%; 30%; dan 40%, dengan 3 ulangan. Pakan percobaan yang mengandung protein sama (isoprotein) dan energi yang juga sama (isokalori) diberikan pada ikan tengadak berukuran rata-rata3,66±0,49 g yang dipelihara di akuarium selama 60 hari. Ikan tengadak diberi pakan percobaan sesuai perlakuan secara adsatiasi dengan frekwensi 3 kali sehari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian pakan dengan tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap kandungan protein dan lemak tubuh, retensi protein dan lemak tubuh, laju pertumbuhn harian, jumlah konsumsi pakan harian dan efisiensi pakan. Perlakuan terbaik adalah ikan tengadak yang diberi pakan dengan kadar karbohidrat 20%, dengan nilai  kandungan protein tubuh  50,94±0,45 %; lemak tubuh 23,49±0,13 %; retensi protein 22,13±0,04 %; retensi lemak 30,93±0,01 %; laju pertumbuhan harian 3,52 %; jumlah konsumsi pakan harian 0,53±0,02 g dan efisiensi pakan 55.68±1.35 %. Tingkat karbohidrat dalam pakan ikan tengadak yang optimal adalah 22,89 %. Kata Kunci: karbohidrat, kinerja pertumbuhan, kan tengadak dan Barbonymus schwanenfeldii

Abstract

Approximately, 325 cultivars of bananas were found in Indonesia. They have variation in shape, taste, color of fruit pulp, essential vitamins and mineral. The β-carotene is one of essential nutrient in banana with various concentration in every cultivar. The aims of this research were to describe the morphological characteristics and to analyze β-carotene content of mature fruits of three different genomic groups of Indonesian dessert and cooking banana cultivars namely Berlin (AA/dessert), Barangan (AAA/dessert), and Kepok (ABB/cooking). Morphological characterizations of fruits were conducted according to Descriptor for Banana from International Plant Genetic Resources Institute. The β-carotene content of mature banana pulp was analyzed using High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method with three replications. Banana fruit characters were analyzed based on 15 descriptors. The bananas were then subjected to clustering analysis.  The result showed that β-carotene content  were 27 μg 100g-1, 5 µg 100g-1, and 3 μg 100g-1 fresh weight respectively. Berlin showed the highest value of β-carotene. Cluster analyses formed two groups. The first group consists of Berlin and Barangan while the second one consists of Kepok. This study can be used as a a reference for people to consume bananas with high content of β-carotene in meeting the needs of vitamin A and as a consideration for the plant breeding especially for β-carotene improvement purpose.

Abstract

Practicum is often not carried out in schools because of the limitations of practical tools. Therefore, it is necessary to develop practical tools to make it easier for students to understand the concept of thermochemistry. This study aims to produce a valid and practical thermochemistry practicum tool. Validity is measured from the material and media aspects using a validation sheet. Meanwhile, practicality was measured using teacher and student response questionnaires. This type of research is research and development (research and development) ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The results of the analysis show that the thermochemical practicum tool developed is declared to be very valid with an average value of 0.94 and 0.92. The results of the practicality test obtained very practical criteria in the initial field trial and the main field trial an average of 94.64% and 97.92%, respectively. Thus, the thermochemistry practicum tool developed is suitable to be used as a medium for learning thermochemical material.

Abstract

In learning management and laboratory techniques, only explaining using power point media and giving assignments so that students do not understand the material presented. Therefore, it is necessary to have teaching materials such as student worksheets based on science, environment, technology, society (SETS). This study aims to produce valid, practical and effective media. Validity was measured from the material aspect and the media aspect using a validation sheet, practicality was measured using a student response questionnaire. While the effectiveness is measured from the value after using the LKS or posttest scores. This type of research is research and development with a thiagarajan device model, namely a 4D model that has been modified into 3D. The results of the analysis show that SETS-based worksheets with validity values of 85% and 88.75% are categorized as very valid. The results of the practicality test in the limited trial of 86.4% and the main trial of 88.02% were categorized as very practical. The results of the effectiveness test with the posttest recapitulation value in the limited trial of 78.3% and the main trial of 82.5%. Thus, SETS-based worksheets are suitable for use in the teaching and learning process on management materials and laboratory techniques

Abstract

Pemahaman konsep siswa dipengaruhi oleh model pembelajaran yang diterapkan oleh guru. Pembelajaran cenderung menerapkan model konvensional yang membuat siswa kurang memahami konsep, sehingga diperlukan alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi asam basa. Salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan adalah model Project Based Learning (PjBL). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Perbedaan dan Efektivitas Pemahaman konsep siswa pada materi Larutan Asam Basa kelas XI IPA dan XI IPS 1 MAN 3 Pontianak antara model pembelajaran PjBL dengan model Pembelajaran Konvensional. Bentuk penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan Quasy Eksperimental. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik random sampling, diperoleh kelas XI IPS 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan XI IPA sebagai kelas eksperimen. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik pengukuran, observasi dan wawancara. Alat pengumpul data yang digunakan adalah tes  hasil belajar siswa berbentuk pilihan ganda dengan tipe (two tier multiple choice), lembar observasi dan lembar wawancara. Hasil uji statistik menggunakan uji U Mann Whitney dengan Asymp sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.000 < 0,05 yang berarti Ha diterima. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan pemahaman konsep yang dilihat dari hasil belajar siswa antra yang diajarkan menggunakan model PjBL dengan model pembelajaran konvensional. Model PjBL efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman konsep siswa dengan nilai Effect Size sebesar 2,78 dengan persentase efektivitas sebesar 49,73%

Abstract

Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) is an approach to learning in schools, including SMAIT Al-Fityan Kubu Raya. However, the school faces challenges in implementing STEM due to a lack of understanding and experience among teachers and the utilization of local wisdom. This community service program aims to assist SMAIT Al-Fityan Kubu Raya in designing STEM-based learning by integrating local wisdom through lesson study. The method used consists of four stages: 1) preparation, 2) socialization, 3) training and guidance for implementation, and 4) monitoring and evaluation. The results obtained from this program indicate that: 1) 92% consider STEM as something new, 2) 80% find the material easy to understand, 3) 75% believe there is suitability and interest among teachers in applying local wisdom-based STEM, and 4) 67% of teachers feel they are not yet able to implement STEM in their teaching. Participant understanding levels fall into the very good category with an N-Gain of 0.83. Therefore, the lesson study approach can enhance teachers' skills in designing and implementing chemistry learning by integrating STEM with local wisdom from West Kalimantan.
