Abstract

Students' communication skills are very important in implementing the merdeka curriculum, especially in science subjects which are relevant to students' daily lives. Merdeka curriculum in science learning directs teachers to create contextual learning contexts to develop students' abilities in explaining ideas and understanding based on facts and logical reasoning through the question and answer method. This research explores the factors inhibiting students' communication skills in the question and answer method in science learning using the merdeka curriculum. This research uses a qualitative approach with a case study type of research in class 8D of Diponegoro Islamic Junior High School Surakarta academic year 2023/2024. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Data analysis uses the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis models: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. The research results show that the factors inhibiting students' communication skills consist of understanding the material, self-confidence, interest, and motivation as well as content and learning context which are still conceptual. It is hoped that the results of the research can provide information and input for teachers to improve the quality of learning by improving the content and learning context so that students are interested and attracted to science learning.

Abstract

Pelatihan Pojok Cerdas Remaja Bersinar merupakan program pemberdayaan masyarakat yang bertujuan meningkatkan keterampilan warga Desa Kalianyar dalam mengelola potensi lokal secara kreatif dan berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini berfokus pada pemanfaatan limbah ampas tahu sebagai pakan alternatif bagi ikan lele serta penggunaan galon bekas sebagai wadah sistem budidaya akuaponik skala kecil. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi persiapan kegiatan, pelaksanaan kegiatan, dan evaluasi kegiatan. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta, diiringi dengan keberhasilan mengolah ampas tahu menjadi pakan bernilai gizi tinggi yang mampu menekan biaya budidaya hingga 30%. Selain memberikan manfaat ekonomi, kegiatan ini juga berkontribusi dalam pengurangan limbah organik dan penguatan kerja sama antarwarga. Melalui kegiatan dengan manfaat ekonomi, sosial, dan lingkungan, Pelatihan Pojok Cerdas Remaja Bersinar membuktikan bahwa inovasi sederhana berbasis potensi lokal dapat memberikan dampak positif yang luas dan berkelanjutan bagi masyarakat.

Abstract

Masyarakat di Desa Grenden masih mengalami tingkat buta aksara yang tinggi karena terdapat banyak warga yang tidak bisa membedakan huruf dan belum lancar membaca. Sehingga perlu sebuah program pengabdian masyarakat berupa edukasi untuk mengatasi Buta Aksara yang dilakukan selama empat bulan dengan rombongan belajar para perempuan dari desa Grenden. Program ini diharapkan dapat menurunkan tingkat buta aksara dan meningkatkan kesadaran dalam tingkat pendidikan di Masyarakat Grenden terutama pada para perempuan. Pelaksanaan program ini dilakukan dengan metode edukasi dan pelatihan pengenalan aksara, numerasi, dan literasi. Berdasarkan pelaksanaan kegiatan melalui edukasi pengentasan buta aksara, masyarakat Desa Grenden mengalami peningkatan melek huruf berdasarkan hasil tes baca, tes tulis aksara, numerasi dan literasi. Program ini juga menghasilkan buku kurikulum untuk edukasi pengentasan buta aksara.

Abstract

Background: The Pakis village is known as the Durian Village which has abundant durian farming potential. However, the low skills of the community in product processing and digital marketing have not provided economic value. Contribution: This community service activity aims to enhance the digital entrepreneurship skills of the community through ecopreneurship based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Method: This research used a descriptive qualitative approach combined with the Participatory Action Research (PAR) method with 20 purposively selected participants. Data were collected through pre- and post-tests, observations, focus group discussions, and interviews, and analyzed using thematic analysis supported by descriptive statistics. Results: Ecopreneurship training based on artificial intelligence significantly enhanced participants' digital entrepreneurship with pre-test score 41.2 and post-test score 88.1 with an improvement of 113.9%. Conclusion: The findings highlight the novelty of participatory integration between ecopreneurship and AI in rural contexts, offering both theoretical contributions to the literature on sustainable digital entrepreneurship and practical insights for policy. This model has potential for replication in other rural communities in Southeast Asia, supporting global discourses on the circular economy, digital inclusion, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

The rapid shift toward digital learning in higher education demands learning resources that not only present content but also facilitate project organization and digital literacy. In response to this need, this study developed a Notion-based e-module integrated with the Project-Based Learning (PjBL) model for the Plant Structure and Function course to support students’ digital literacy. The research employed a Research and Development (R&D) design using the ADDIE model, involving analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation stages. Fifty fifth-semester students from the Science Education Program at Universitas Jember participated. Data were collected through expert validation questionnaires, student practicality questionnaires, and pretest–posttest instruments. The product obtained validity scores of 91.875% from material experts and 93.33% from media experts. The practicality score from students reached 90.36%. These findings indicate that the Notion-based PjBL e-module is feasible and practical to support meaningful learning and foster digital literacy. The novelty of this research lies in the integration of a productivity and project-management platform (Notion) as a learning medium in higher education, enabling structured project workflows, collaborative workspaces, and digital documentation for PjBL activities. The developed module offers an alternative digital resource to facilitate technology integration in science education.
