Abstract

Therapy given to breast cancer patients is usually carried out in several cycles, while the cost of treatment increases every year, so this situation can become an economic burden for breast cancer sufferers. Therefore, to reduce the cost burden for sufferers, it is necessary to know which therapy is cost-effective and therapy with a pharmacoeconomic approach, namely using cost-effectiveness analysis. The purpose of the analysis is to determine the cost effectiveness and cost utility of the treatment regimen for breast cancer chemotherapy patients at the Makassar Unhas Hospital. This research is a descriptive study with a retrospective approach, data was taken from patient medical records and patient administration. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a diagnosis of breast cancer at Makassar Unhas Hospital in 2023 and a total sample of 60 patients. The data analysis method uses cost-effective. Based on the results and discussions that have been carried out in this research, it was concluded that the cost effectiveness of the treatment regimen for breast cancer patients at Makassar Unhas Hospital for the 2023 period in patients using the combination chemotherapy drug Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide is more cost-effective with the Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio value (ACER) with a cost of IDR 80,819 and the Incremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) for therapy using Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide is more cost effective than Fluronacil+Epirubicin +Cyclophosphamide with a value of IDR 83,651. The utility costs of treatment regimens for breast cancer patients at Makassar Unhas Hospital for the 2023 period, in patients with utility analysis obtained from the QALYS value in patients using the breast cancer chemotherapy drug combination Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cycphosphamide is 40,638 and CUA IDR 325,629 compared to those using Fluronacil+ Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide. Terapi yang diberikan kepada pasien kanker payudara biasanya dilakukan dalam beberapa siklus, sedangkan biaya pengobatan semakin meningkat setiap tahunnya, sehingga keadaan tersebut dapat menjadi beban ekonomi bagi para penderita kanker payudara. Oleh karena itu untuk mengurangi beban biaya bagi penderita maka perlu dilakukan kajian terapi yang efektif secara biaya dan terapi dengan pendekatan farmakoekonomi yaitu menggunakan cost effectiveness analysis (analisis efektivitas biaya) dan utilitas biaya. Tujuan analisis ialah untuk mengetahui efektifitas biaya dan utilitas biaya regimen pengobatan pasien kemoterapi kanker payudara di Rumah Sakit Unhas Makassar. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif dengan pendekatan retrospektif, data diambil dari rekam medis pasien dan administrasi pasien. Teknik sampling ialah purposive sampling dengan diagnosa kanker payudara di Rumah Sakit Unhas Makassar tahun 2023 dan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 Pasien. Efektivitas biaya regimen pengobatan pasien kanker payudara di Rumah Sakit Unhas Makassar Periode 2023 pada pasien yang menggunakan obat kemoterapi kombinasi Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide adalah memiliki biaya efektifitas yang lebih dengan nilai Average Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ACER) dengan biaya sebanyak Rp80.819 dan Inceremental Cost Effectiveness Ratio (ICER) untuk terapi dengan menggunakan Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide lebih cost efektif dibandingkan Fluronacil+Epirubicin +Cyclophosphamide dengan nilai Rp 83.651. Utilitas biaya regimen pengobatan pasien kanker payudara di Rumah Sakit Unhas Makassar Periode 2023, pada pasien dengan analisis utilitas yang diperoleh dari nilai QALYS pada pasien yang menggunakan kombinasi obat kemoterapi kanker payudara Paclitaxel+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide sebesarr 40,638 dan CUA Rp 325.629 dibandingkan dengan yang menggunakan Fluronacil+Epirubicin+Cyclophosphamide.

Abstract

Saat ini kasus penyalahgunaan Narkotika, Psikotropika, dan Zat Adiktif lainnya (NAPZA) di kalangan remaja sangat meningkat dan menjadi masalah nasional yang memerlukan perhatian khusus. Tujuan dilakukan pengabdian ini untuk mengedukasi, dan mengkaji pengetahuan dan sikap siswa SMA Negeri 5 Makassar tentang bahaya NAPZA. Metode pengabdian yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif berupa ceramah dan survey. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner yang disebarkan kepada siswa sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang bahaya NAPZA setelah mengikuti program penyuluhan. Selain itu, terdapat perubahan positif dalam sikap dan perilaku siswa terkait dengan penggunaan NAPZA. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah program penyuluhan efektif dalam meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman siswa tentang bahaya NAPZA, serta sebagai salah satu upaya preventif akan penyalahgunaan NAPZA di kalangan remaja.

Abstract

Exposure to sunlight has a negative effect on the skin. Sunscreens are used to protect the skin from the harmful effects caused by UV radiation. The ability of a sunscreen to protect the skin by delaying erythema is expressed by the value of the Sun Protection Factor (SPF). The purpose of this study was to analyze the UV protection activity of chayote (Sechium edule) based on the Sun Protection Factor (SPF) value, which was measured using UV-Vis spectrophotometry and calculated using the Mansyur equation. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the SPF value of chayote (Sechium edule) extract has UV protection activity. At concentrations of 1%, 2%, and 3% there is activity as UV protection with SPF values of 7.487; 11.817; and 16,889. Abstract

Molecular imaging, also known as molecular imaging, is a medical technique used to visualize and analyze biological molecules in the human or animal body. According to the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging's website, "Molecular Imaging" is a type of medical imaging that provides a detailed picture of what is happening in the body at the molecular and cellular levels. This definition refers to the significant advancements researchers have made over the past two decades in applying the principles of molecular imaging in various areas, from basic and translational science to advanced patient diagnosis and therapy. Essentially, molecular imaging allows us to visualize biochemical processes and target localization patterns that are invisible at the level of anatomical imaging. The goal of molecular imaging is to obtain information about molecular activity and function in living tissue. The technologies commonly used in imaging modulation are Positron Emission Tomography (PET), Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography (SPECT), and Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI).

Abstract

Udang putih (Litopenaeus vannamei) merupakan salah satu spesies Crustacea yang cangkangnya mengandung senyawa karotenoid. Senyawa ini merupakan antioksidan alami yang berpotensi tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karotenoid total pada ekstrak cangkang L. vannamei dan mengevaluasi aktivitas antioksidannya secara in vitro. Ekstrak diperoleh dengan cara maserasi menggunakan n-heksan. Tingkat total karotenoid dalam ekstrak ditentukan setara dengan β-karoten. Spektrofotometer UV-Visible mengukur ekstrak dan larutan standar referensi pada panjang gelombang maksimum β-karoten (462 nm). Dua metode berbeda digunakan dalam menentukan aktivitas antioksidan ekstrak; metode peredaman radikal 1,1-diphenyl-2-picryl-hydrazyl (DPPH) dan metode ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karotenoid total dalam ekstrak cangkang L. vannamei adalah 5,87 mg/g, setara dengan β-karoten. Konsentrasi hambat setengah (IC50) ekstrak dengan metode DPPH adalah 27,59 µg/mL menunjukkan potensi sedang sebagai antioksidan dibandingkan dengan kuersetin standar sebesar 1,28 µg/mL. Kapasitas antioksidan ekstrak dengan metode FRAP dinyatakan dalam mg setara kuersetin (QE) per g ekstrak (mgQE/g), dan hasilnya menunjukkan potensi penghambatan sebesar 1,65 mgQE/g ekstrak. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa ekstrak cangkang udang vannamei sangat potensial sebagai sumber karotenoid alami dengan efek antioksidan yang memadai.

Abstract

Perilaku merokok di kalangan remaja, khususnya siswa sekolah, menjadi perhatian serius. Data menunjukkan bahwa usia perokok pemula di kelompok usia 13-15 tahun meningkat, bahkan, pada kelompok usia 15-19 tahun dan pada usia 10-14 tahun, hal ini  mengindikasikan bahwa kebiasaan merokok telah menyebar di kalangan siswa sekolah menengah pertama dan atas. Dampak merokok pada kesehatan remaja sangat serius, termasuk risiko kanker, gangguan jantung, diabetes, dan kematian. Faktor yang mendorong remaja merokok antara lain pengaruh teman sebaya, keluarga, iklan, dan kurangnya kesadaran tentang bahaya merokok. Dalam upaya pencegahannya, berbagai program anti-rokok, seperti kampanye di sekolah, media massa, dan kegiatan penyuluhan telah dilakukan. Salah satunya adalah program penyuluhan oleh Fakultas Farmasi Universitas Muslim Indonesia di SMA Negeri 5 Makassar, yang bertujuan meningkatkan pengetahuan siswa tentang bahaya merokok serta mengurangi minat merokok di kalangan remaja. Hasil dari pelaksanaan penyuluhan yang dilakukan memberikan dampak positif terhadap pengetahuan, sikap dan perilaku siswa SMA Negeri 5 Makassar, di mana hasil dari data kuisioner yang dilakukan, sebelum dan sesudah penyuluhan, mengalami peningkatan perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan perilaku siswa terhadap rokok, sehingga diharapkan siswa menjadi lebih mengurangi atau bahkan bisa berhenti merokok.

Abstract

AbstractThe inflammatory process involves increased vascular permeability, protein denaturation, and membrane alteration. Flavonoids are a class of secondary metabolites with biological and pharmacological activities, including anti-inflammatory. The bitter leaf, Vernonia amygdalina (VA), are used in various alternative medicine in several countries, including Indonesia. Chemical components in VA leaf are polyphenolic compounds, flavonoids, terpenes, and coumarins. The previous study exhibited that the anti-inflammatory activities of plants are closely related to the levels of polyphenols and flavonoids. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the anti-inflammatory activity of VA leaf and determine the total flavonoid-phenolic content of VA leaf ethanolic extract. The extraction method used maceration by ethanol as a solvent. The anti-inflammatory activity was measured by protein denaturation inhibition properties. The total flavonoid and phenolic content were determined by colorimetric and Folin-Ciocalteu methods, in which both procedures were measured by UV-Visible spectrophotometry at maximum wavelength. The results showed that VA leaf ethanolic extract has an anti-inflammatory effect with a half inhibition concentration (IC50) of 346.23 μg/mL. The total flavonoid and phenolic content of the ethanolic extract of VA leaves were 25.62 mgQE/g extracts and 21.47 mgGAE/g extract, respectively. Thus, the ethanolic extract of VA leaves can potentially be developed as an anti-inflammatory agent in herbal medicine.Keywords: anti-inflammatory, flavonoid, gallic acid, phenolic, quercetin AbstrakProses inflamasi melibatkan peningkatan permeabilitas vaskular, denaturasi protein, dan perubahan membran. Daun pahit, Vernonia amygdalina (VA), digunakan dalam berbagai pengobatan alternatif di beberapa negara, termasuk Indonesia. Komponen kimia dalam daun VA adalah senyawa polifenol, flavonoid, terpen, dan kumarin. Studi sebelumnya menunjukkan bahwa aktivitas anti-inflamasi tanaman terkait erat dengan kadar polifenol dan flavonoidnya. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi aktivitas antiinflamasi daun VA dan mengetahui kandungan flavonoid-fenolik total pada ekstrak daun VA. Metode ekstraksi menggunakan maserasi dengan etanol sebagai pelarut. Aktivitas antiinflamasi diukur dengan menggunakan metode penghambatan denaturasi protein. Kandungan total flavonoid dan fenolik ditentukan dengan metode kolorimetri dan Folin-Ciocalteu. Kedua prosedur tersebut diukur pada spektrofotometri UV-Visible pada panjang gelombang maksimum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun VA memiliki efek anti-inflamasi dengan konsentrasi daya hambat 50% (IC50) sebesar 346,23 µg/mL. Kandungan total flavonoid dan fenolik ekstrak etanolik daun VA berturut-turut adalah 25,62 mgQE/g ekstrak dan 21,47 mgGAE/g ekstrak. Dengan demikian, ekstrak etanol daun VA berpotensi untuk dikembangkan sebagai agen anti-inflamasi dalam pengobatan herbal.Kata kunci: anti-inflamasi, asam galat, fenolik, flavonoid, quercetin

Abstract

Red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lam.), which belongs to the Pandanaceae family, is widely used by local Papuan people as a source of food, natural dyes, and traditional medicinal ingredients. Red fruit contains several compounds such as tannins, vitamin C, beta carotene, and flavonoids. This research aims to determine the presence of antioxidant activity using the Cupric Ion Reducing Antioxidant Capacity (CUPRAC) method. Antioxidant capacity using the CUPRAC method is expressed as mg of ascorbic acid equivalent (AAE) per g of juice (mgAAE/g). The method is measured using a UV-Vis spectrophotometer with the maximum wavelength. Ascorbic acid was used as a comparison to assess the antioxidant ability of red fruit juice. The results showed that the antioxidant activity capacity of red fruit juice was 100.4 mgAAE/g. Thus, red fruit can be developed as a natural antioxidant.

Abstract

Retrosynthetic analysis represents a cornerstone of modern organic synthesis, providing a rational and highly systematic framework for the design and planning of complex molecular architectures. This strategy involves the stepwise disconnection of a target molecule into progressively simpler intermediates and ultimately into commercially available or readily accessible starting materials. By focusing on strategic bond disconnections and functional group interconversions, retrosynthesis facilitates the identification of key synthetic transformations, allowing chemists to navigate backward from the desired product to a feasible synthetic route. The integration of this methodology enables the optimization of reaction sequences in terms of step economy, atom economy, stereoselectivity, and overall synthetic efficiency. Furthermore, retrosynthetic planning is indispensable in the synthesis of biologically active compounds, natural products, and pharmaceutical agents, where the construction of complex frameworks demands both creativity and precision. As such, retrosynthesis not only streamlines the synthetic process but also enhances the reliability, scalability, and reproducibility of organic synthesis, making it an essential tool in both academic research and industrial applications.

Abstract

Red fruit is a member of the Pandanaceae family which is a type of pandan. Empirically, red fruit (Pandanus conoideus Lam.) has been proven to cure various degenerative diseases such as cancer, heart disease, tuberculosis, respiratory tract disorders, external antiseptic and eye and skin diseases. The aim of this research was to determine the antioxidant activity of red fruit juice using the ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) method. The juice was tested qualitatively and quantitatively using the FRAP method. The qualitative test results after adding the FRAP reagent were positive for antioxidant activity because the color changed to blue. In quantitative determination of absorbance, antioxidant activity was measured using the UV-Vis spectrophotometric method. Absorbance was measured at a maximum wavelength of 701 nm using ascorbic acid as a reference solution. The equation obtained is y = 0.0103x + 0.3801 with a value of r = 0.9978. The total antioxidant activity value was calculated based on absorption data. The calculation results for the total antioxidant activity value were 173.68 mgAAE/L sample. Therefore, we can conclude that red fruit can be used as a natural antioxidant.
