Abstract

This study aims to describe students’ problem solving abilities in the function material. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects of this study were 15 students of class X students of Muhammadiyah 1 Cimahi High School. The method used to collect data is by using written worksheets with mathematical problem solving abilities at the function table. The results showed that the ability to solve mathematical problem solving in class X high school Muhammaiyah was already high, as seen from the presentation stating that students were able to identify known elements, implement strategies and develop mathematical models. Overall students mathematical problem solving abilities, especially in material function are in high qualifications.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the epistemological obstacle experienced by junior high school students when understanding concepts and solving problems regarding comparison material. The focus of this research is on the epistemological obstacle. The method in this research is descriptive qualitative and tested on students of class VIII - C at SMP Pasundan 3 Cimahi, totaling 34 students, the research instrument is a test instrument, namely 7 items regarding comparison material. Data processing in this study uses Microsoft Excel. The result of this research is the occurrence of an epistemological obstacle in junior high school students, namely when understanding the concept and solving a problems where there are limitations to the students in certain contexts regarding comparison material.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze in order to find out the mistakes of Asyifa 44 Junior High School students in solving problems on circle material. Has a qualitative descriptive method. The data taken in the study were the results of the answers of 20 junior high school students in class IX of SMP. The instrument used includes a test instrument in the form of circular material questions as many as 6 items. Processing in this study using triangulation. Some of the mistakes made by students when solving circle material problems include: (1) mistakes in distinguishing several elements of the circle, (2) completing half of the answers, (3) not using long units, (4) unable to prove the relationship between the perimeter angle with the center angle, (5) have not been able to find a number pattern, (6) are wrong in comparing images, (7) cannot conclude a solution. Problems with the largest percentage were number 1 at 90%, and questions with the lowest percentage were number 3 at 20%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to understand the communication skills of high school students in answering the problem of sequences and series. The subjects of this study were students of class XII from high school in West Bandung Regency. The method that the researcher used was descriptive qualitative method. To obtain the data of this study using the interview method and 5 essay questions on mathematical communication skills. Based on the results of this study, it can be said that students' communication skills are still not good or low, especially for the ability to state a situation and daily problems in the form of mathematical patterns and solve them. State a situation or everyday problem in the form of a mathematical model and solve it, State a diagram in the form of a story problem and solve it. The thing that underlies the students do not understand or have correct and good communication skills because students think that writing something they are looking for and knowing is unnecessary. Students still do not understand the concept of sequences and series. Students are still careless in answering questions because they want to finish quickly.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to analyze the difficulties of students in solving problems of mathematical problem solving abilities of students of SMP Negeri in West Bandung Regency. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The subjects of the study were 26 people of SMP Negeri 1 Rongga class VII-C. The instrument used includes a test instrument of mathematical problem solving ability of triangular and rectangular material, as many as 5 questions containing four problem solving indicators, namely understanding the problem, planning the solution strategy, solving the problem according to the plan, and checking the answers again. Obtaining the results of the answers is done by giving a score for each indicator. Percentage of each indicator is obtained by finding the average student's answer. The results of this study were the lowest percentage of problem solving ability indicators found in the indicator of checking the truth and the average problem-solving ability obtained was in the moderate category.

Abstract

Kemampuan komunikasi matematik sangat penting dimiliki oleh siswa, namun pada kenyataannya berdasarkan penelitian kemampuan komunikasi matematik siswa masih tergolong rendah, Oleh karena itu perlu pendekatan pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan komunikasi siswa yaitu pendekatan Open-ended. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis apakah peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi siswa yang pembelajaranya menggunakan open-ended lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional. Metode dalam penelitian ini adalah kuasi eksperimen dengan desain kelompok kontrol non-ekuivalen. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah 2 kelas di salah satu sekolah SMP kota Bandung. Instrumen dalam penelitian ini sebanyak 4 soal uraian  komunikasi, data diolah menggunakan SPSS 21, pengolahan data gain dimulai dari menghitung gain ternormalisasi kemudian dilakukan uji normalitas, uji homogenitas dan uji perbedaan rerata. Berdasarkan analisis data disimpulkan bahwa peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi siswa SMP yang pembelajarannya menggunakan open-ended lebih baik daripada yang menggunakan pendekatan konvensional. Dengan demikian pendekatan open-ended dapat meningkatkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa.

Abstract

This dedication is motivated by the fact that there are still many teachers who are not yet skilled and even don't know the reference management technique through Mendeley. Whereas in this era, ICT-based tools like Mendeley will be able to support the professionalism of a teacher. This service is in the form of training for elementary school teachers on the use of Mendeley in scientific articles. The aim of this training is to improve the knowledge and skills of elementary school teachers in the field of reference management in scientific articles using Mendeley tools. Mendeley is a software that functions as a reference and citation manager in scientific writings. The implementation of this service uses a structured training method. In addition, there is also an activity supplement in the form of independent mentoring for teachers who are still having trouble with joint training activities. The results of the implementation showed that this activity received a very good response. This can be seen from the very communicative training interactions. Based on questionnaire data before and after this training activity, it shows that the training participants experienced an increase in knowledge and skills by 30%. It can be concluded that this activity has been quite successful in improving teacher professionalism, especially in the field of ICT mastery such as Mendeley. This is also part of an effort to advance education, especially advancing teacher human resources at the basic education level

Abstract

Guru yang profesional adalah guru yang dapat meningkatkan kemampuan mengajar dikelas. Lesson study dapat menjadi salah satu alternatif dalam memperbaiki pembelajaran dikelas, sistem ini masih banyak tidak diketahui oleh guru-guru, salah satunya guru-guru di sekolah MA Cahaya Harapan karena berdasarkan wawancara dan hasil analisis angket awal disimpulkan pengetahuan guru mengenai pada sekolah tersebut masih kurang serta guru belum pernah melaksanakan implementasi Lesson Study di kelas. Metode dalam Pengabdian ini berupa penyuluhan serta workshop implementasi Lesson Study, mitra dari pengabdian ini adalah guru-guru seluruh matapelajaran di MA Cahaya Harapan Cisarua yang dilaksanakan sebanyak 2 hari pada tanggal 24 &27 Januari 2020. Sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan guru diberikan angket dan wawancara untuk mengukur pemahaman guru-guru serta kebermanfaatan Lesson Study. Hasil dari analisis data diperoleh kesimpulan bahwa pengetahuan dan pemahanan guru mengenai Lesson Study menjadi meningkat, serta guru merasakan lesson study sangat bermanfaat untuk perbaikan pembelajaran dikelas. Saran setelah program pengabdian ini yaitu Workshop implementasi lesson study ini dapat dilaksanakan pada cakupan sekolah yang lebih luas  agar manfaat lesson study dapat dirasakan oleh banyak guru

Abstract

ABSTRAKPengabdian ini, berdasarkan hasil observasi kami dilapangan, hasil belajar matematika siswa di Sekolah Dasar Masih rendah, padahal pada jenjang ini sangat menentukan keberhasilan belajar pada jenjang selanjutnya. Rendahnya hasil belajar siswa SD pada mata pelajaran matematika dikarenakan siswa menganggap matematika adalah pelajaran yang sulit, mereka merasakan kesulitan dalam matematika karena pada jenjang Sekolah Dasar siswa masih belum bisa berpikir abstrak, padahal matematika adalah ilmu yang abstrak. Oleh karena itu pada jenjang sekolah dasar dibutuhkan media berupa alatperga yang dapat membantu siswa membayangkan atau mengilustrasikan konsep-konsep matematika agar konsep matematika lebih mudah dipahami. Keterbatasan alat peraga menjadi salah satu hambatan dalam pembelajaran matematika di Sekolah Dasar, selain itu keterbatasan pengetahuan guru mengenai alat peraga menjadi salah satu hal yang harus diperhatikan.  Berdasarkan pemaparan tersebut, kami bermaksud untuk melakukan penyuluhan kepada guru-guru di beberapa SD di Kecamatan Pangalengan dalam penggunaan alat peraga khususnya pada matapelajaran matematika, diharapkan dengan adanya penyuluhan tersebut pengetahuan guru mengenai alat peraga semakin meningkat yang berimplikasi pada meningkatnya hasil belajar siswa pada matapelajaran matematikaKata Kunci : Alat Peraga, Matematika, Sekolah Dasar ABSTRACTThis dedication, based on our observations in the field, mathematics learning outcomes of students in elementary schools are still low, even though at this level it will determine the success of learning at the next level. The low learning outcomes of elementary school students in mathematics because students consider mathematics a difficult subject, they feel difficulties in mathematics because at the elementary school level students are still unable to think abstractly, even though mathematics is an abstract science. Therefore at the elementary school level media needed in the form of tools that can help students imagine or illustrate mathematical concepts so that mathematical concepts are more easily understood. The limitation of teaching aids is one of the obstacles in learning mathematics in elementary schools, besides the limited knowledge of teachers about teaching aids is one thing that must be considered. Based on this explanation, we intend to conduct counseling for teachers in several elementary schools in Pangalengan District in the use of teaching aids especially in mathematics, it is expected that with this education the teacher's knowledge about teaching aids will increase which has implications for increasing student learning outcomes in mathematics.Keywords: Teaching Aids, Mathematics, Elementary School

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh rendahnya HOTS siswa pada materi trigonometri pada siswa SMA di salah satu sekolah swasta di Cimahi, siswa merasa kesulitan dalam memahami materi trigonometri dikarenakan bahan ajar yang digunakan belum memfasilitasi proses berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa, sehingga diperlukan pengembangan bahan ajar yang berbasis inkuiri agar HOTS siswa semakin meningkat. Tujuan dari peneitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan LKS berbasis Inkuiri pada materi trigonometri. Metode penelitian ini adalah metode pengembangan dengan desain 4D yaitu pendefinisian (define), perancangan (design), pengembangan (develope), dan penyebaran (desiminate), namun karena keterbatasan waktu penelitian ini tidak sampai pada tahap penyebaran. Subjek dari penelitian ini yaitu siswa kelas  X di salah satu SMA swasta di Kota Cimahi  sebanyak 32 siswa.  Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes HOTS untuk mengukur efektivitas bahan ajar serta lembar validasi untuk mengukur validitas bahan ajar. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berupa LKS yang dikembangkan dinyatakan valid dengan rata-rata nilai validitas dari validator ahli sebesar 3,4 serta efektivitas dari peningkatan kemampuan HOTS sebesar 35,3%. Adapun implikasi dari penelitian ini yaitu guru dapat menggunakan LKS berbasis inkuiri ini sebagai bahan ajar pada materi trigonometri agar kemampua HOTS siswa meningkat.
