Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out income of corn farmers and income contribution of corn farmers to total income household, feasibility level of corn farmers, well-being level of corn farmers household in Ulubongka district of Tojo Una-una regency. The results of the research show that (1) The average income obtained by corn farmers in Bongka Makmur village is IDR. 11.915.368/planting season. The average income of corn farmers received by farmers in Bongka Makmur village is IDR. 2.978.842 per month. (2) Income contribution of corn farmers is 69,10%. This matter shows that corn farmers contributes the most income of farmer households. (3) Feasibility of corn farmers in Bongka Makmur village by using financial analysis, namely Payback Period (PP), Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR) and Benefit Cost Ratio (B/C Ratio) show that corn farmers in Bongka Makmur village is worth trying. (4) The well-being of corn farmers household in Bongka Makmur village is in sufficient based on the criteria of Sajogyo (1997) by using the poverty rate.

Abstract

Access to reliable irrigation water can make farmers use new technologies and intensify land management, which leads to increase productivity, production of paddy, rice farm income and employment opportunities in the paddy fields. This study aims to: (1) analyze factors that influence rice production; (2) analyze factors that influence rice farm income; (3) analyze factors that influence rice farm labor. The experiment was conducted in the District of Parigi Moutong which is purposivelydetermined by consideration that the number of irrigated area in there is quite wide, but rice farm income still relatively low. The respondents in this study were 100 respondents taken from two irrigation conditions namely good irrigation (58 farm households) and damaged irrigation (42 farm households). The data analyzed by using the model of Two Stage Least Square (2SLS).

Abstract

The research aims were to identify the total cost spent, the total expenditure received, and the number of production units of a Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) enterprise at the time of BEP was achieved. The research was conducted at KUB “Yevo Mulia in Lalombi Village South Banawa Sub District of Donggala District. This KUB was selected with consideration that it is one of the society joint ventures on Virgin Coconut enterprise available at Lalombi Village Sub District of South Banawa which its production has a broad market segment. This research was carried on October to Desember 2006. The analysis showed that the BEP at KUB “Yevo Mulia” South Banawa Sub District of Donggala for the A type product was about 112.56 bottles or with expenditure about IDR 1,969,800 per month, for product B type about 728 bottles with expenditure about IDR. 1,608,300 per month.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of land use, fertilizer, seed and labor on the production of curly red chili in Bulupountu Jaya village Sigi Biromaru subdistrict of Sigi Regency. The population in this study was the whole group of 60 farmers who cultivate curly red chili within which a total sample of 37 farmer were selected to represent the population.  Data obtained was analyzed using multiple linear analysis. Results of the analysis showed that the independent variables (X) simulataneously affect the production (the dependent variable, Y) significantly. This is showed by the value of the F-count of 63.528 whic is significant at 5% level.  The value of the coefficient of determination (R2 ) was 0.969 indicating that 99% of the variation of the curly red chili production (Y) can be explained by such variables as land area (X1), urea (X2), ZA fertilizer (X3), ponska fertilizer (X4) seed (X5), pesticides (X6), and labor, (X7), while the other 1% can be explained other variables not including in the models. Land area, urea fertilizer, ZA fertilizer, ponska fertilizers, seeds, pesticides and labor simultaneously can affect the production of curly red chili farming in Bulupountu Jaya village sigiBiromarusubdistrictsigi Regency. Keywords: Production, Curly red chili, Bulupountu Jaya Village.

Abstract

This study is a case study on the performance of crude coconut oil (CCO) agroindustry business run by Tinabogan Village community through a small household industrygroup SumberRezeki which is one of the developments of integrated coconut industry byTolitolidistrict government of Central Sulawesi. This study aimed to analyze the two-year performance of the group "SumberRezeki" in Tinabogan village using financial analysis. The research used profitability ratio and liquidity ratio methods. The profitability ratio usedwas the ratio of gross profit margin (GPM), net profit margin (NPM) ratio, return on investment (ROI), and return on equity (ROE) ratio. The liquidity ratio used wascurrent ratio (CR), quick ratio (QR) and cash ratio (CR). The results of the analysis showed that the overall profitability ratio of the business is efficient indicating that it is in a good performance interpretation. Although there is a decrease in ROI and ROE generated in time series of 2015 and 2016, the ratio of industry is still above the average suggesting that the business performance is good. Similarly, the liquidity ratio is liquid meaning that the business is able to pay its short-term debt on time. Keywords:Agroindustry, liquidity ratio, performance and profitability ratio.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the appropriateness of the establishment of cocoa processing industry (Rumah Coklat Office of Industry and Trade of Central Sulawesi Province) in Palu     based on market aspects, technical aspects, aspects of the organization and management as well as financial aspects. The research was conducted in the city of Palu, namely Rumah    Coklat Industry and Trade Office of Central Sulawesi province were carried out from July to September 2016. The method used was survey used data sourced from Rumah Coklat Department of Industry and Trade of Central Sulawesi province and institutions associated with the study and the results of research conducted by the Center for R & D relating to the cacao processing. Data collected was processed and analyzed the aspects of the market, technical, organizational and management aspects and financial aspects. The results showed that the business of processing cocoa into chocolate and chocolate converture liqour from the aspect of the market is feasible to set up because it has a fairly large market opportunities, both domestic market and overseas markets. Based on a technical aspect, the business of processing cocoa into chocolate liqour and chocolate converture feasible to implement in Palu because of the availability of raw materials, labor, buildings and facilities equipment, the need for production machinery and equipment, the capacity of production capacity and the production process is relatively easy to be fulfilled and realized. Based on the aspect of organization and management, processing of chocolate is feasible. Because the needs of the labor management section and production section is obtained in accordance with the wishes of the company, as well as the maintenance of legality companies easily obtained. Financial aspects of the analysis results obtained by period of return on investment or payback period is 7 years. NPV is Rp. 182,141,428. IRR is about 14 and PI is 1.08%.  BEP amounted to 58.28% of total sales or Rp.  323,561,529. as well as the results of the sensitivity analysis shows that this cocoa processing business into chocolate liquor and converture very sensitive to the price of raw materials cocoa and the amount of the sale. Based on the calculation and analysis can be concluded that the cocoa processing industry namely Rumah Coklat Office of Industry and Trade of the Province of Central Sulawesi in Palu meet the eligibility criteria and eligible to be run the business.

Abstract

The research aimed was to identify the strategy of corn agribusiness development in Bualemo sub district of Banggai Regency. It was a descriptive-qualitative research. Respondent samples were determined using a simply random sampling technique. Based on SWOT analysis, the strategy for the corn farming system development was S-T (Strength – Threats) strategy. The strategy recommended for the development of the corn farming system in Bualemo were (1) increasing corn production by means of applying plant cultivation technology; and (2) determining zonation of location for priority corn development. Programs needed to be addressed were (1) integrated corn pest control; (2) improving field officer competency; and (3) land suitability evaluation. Keywords: Corn Farming, Development Strategy, and SWOT Analysis.

Abstract

This research aimed to: 1) Knowing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats for agribusiness development of soybean commodity in Sigi Regency; 2) Knowing the right alternative strategy formula for the development of soybean commodity agribusiness in Sigi Regency; 3) Knowing the priority strategy that should be chosen for the agribusiness development of commodity soybean in Sigi Regency. This research purposively conducted in Sigi Regency from January to March 2017, and 6 respondents were chosen. SWOT analysis used to find alternative strategy, and QSPM analysis used to find priority strategy. The availability and productivity of the land is among the main strenghts, and the quality and quantity of human resources is among the main weaknesses.The main opportunity is the price of soybean commodity in the market, while imports of soybeans by the government is the main threats. The alternative and priority strategy that could be undertaken by the governmenr are : 1) Participatory motivation and farmers empowerment program; 2) Strengthening local soybean development policy that is pro-farmer; 3) Soybean cultivation development program through area expansion and land mapping; 4) Regional Agricultural Partnership; 5) Development of soybean processing industry.

Abstract

Cocoa Agribusiness in Central Sulawesi still confronts many complex problems, such as low productivity due to PKB pests, low production quality. This becomes a challenge as well as investment opportunities in developing the business of chocolate product and achieve greater added value than cocoa agribusiness. This research  aimed to know the income and financial feasibility obtained by Twins Chocolate Industry chocolate product production in Palu. The research was conducted at the Twins Chocolate Industry Jalan Rusa No. 13 Talise subdistrict Mantikulore Palu city Central Sulawesi on October to September 2016. The respondents consisted of one leader and two employees in the field of production and marketing. The results showed that the revenue obtained in the first year was Rp 25.7017 million, the second year was Rp 26.8927 million and in the third year was Rp 38,309,875. Feasibility levelsobtained by the PP for 2 Years  and 2 Months were NPV Rp 11,927,788, an IRR of 22.75% and PI of 1.19. It means that Twins Chocolate industry was laboured because it met the eligibility criteria set.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence factors of land production, fertilizer, labor, seed and Dummy (seeds) as well as the agricultural extension to the production of maize in the village  of Rarampadende, west Dolo District. The population in this study is the farmers who became members of farmers who run the farm corn amounted to 120 people, the number of samples is as many as 52 people, while the data were analyzed using multiple linear analysis of Cobb-Douglass. Results of the analysis showed that the production of the independent variables (Xi) together can have a significant effect on the dependent variable (Y). F-count value is equal to 27.103> F-table 2.44 (Significantly, 0,000 α 5%), in addition to the value of the coefficient of determination (R2 adjsSq) of 0.754 means that 75.40% of the variation in maize production (Y) can be explained by variable land area (X1), the number of seeds (X2) labor (X3), the amount of fertilizer (X4), seeds (D1) and agricultural extension (D2), while 24.6% can be explained other models. Land use, fertilizer, labor, seed, seeds and labor will simultaneously be able to affect the production of maize farming in Rarampadende village, West Dolo district.
