Abstract

Research is conducted with the aim to (a) determine the level of degrees of the two languages studied, (b) determine the separation distance between the two languages studied, and (c) find out the sound correspondenes between the language studied. This type of research is qualitative and quantitative research in the field of Comparative Historical Linguistic. The research entity is the Toba Batak Language in Onan Ganjang District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatera Province and the Minangkabau language in Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City, West Sumatera Province. The data for this research are spoken and written which are guide by the Morris Swadeshvocabulary list and the cultural voabulari lists of the two language studied. Based on existing alculations and research data, a related vocabulary was found between the Toba Batak language in Onan Ganjang District, Humbang Hasundutan Regency, North Sumatera Province and the Minangkabau language in Lubuk Begalung District, Padang City, West Sumatera Province, a total of 99 related words (cognates) and 401 words (not cognates). So, the percentage level of kinship between the two language is 18%. Next, the glotohronolgy calculation show that separation of the two language is from 1928 BC, starting from 2023. Based on the 500 vocabularies found, there were sound correspondences consisting of 43 sound/phoneme replacement vocabularies, 1 sound/phoneme reduction vocabulary, and 10 sound addition vocabularies/phoneme.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the delivery of criticism towards the government which is considered less polite by some circles. The purpose of this study is to explain the politeness in the language of RG political observers when criticizing the government. This type of research is qualitative research. The method used in this research is descriptive method. The main instrument is the researcher himself. The data of this research is in the form of speeches by political observers of the RG which contain criticism of the government. The data source for this research is the RG YouTube channel. The data collection technique used is the observation and note taking technique. The data validation technique used in this study is triangulation. Technical data analysis is carried out by analyzing data according to the theoretical studies used to answer research questions that have been formulated. The research results show that. First, GM political observers in criticizing the government tend to use speech acts of direct criticism, although they sometimes use indirect criticism. Second, in criticizing RG, the dominant uses the maxim of praise, then agreement, and wisdom. However, RG tends to violate the politeness principles, especially the maxims of praise. This is because the criticism given tends to be direct without paying attention to the face of the speech partner or being criticized by RG.

Abstract

This research aims to conduct a meta-analysis of several studies exploring the perceptions of Indonesian language teachers regarding curriculum changes, particularly the transition from the School Level Curriculum (KTSP) to the 2013 Curriculum and from the 2013 Curriculum to the Merdeka Curriculum. Ten studies included in this meta-analysis discuss various aspects, including teachers' perceptions, the implementation of teaching methods, challenges faced, and their impact on student learning. The analysis indicates that teachers have diverse perceptions of curriculum changes, with some feeling prepared and accepting of the changes, while others experience difficulties and confusion. The main identified challenges include limited understanding, resource constraints, high workload, and resistance to change. Nevertheless, most teachers show readiness to implement changes and consider themselves integral parts of curriculum development. The use of new teaching methods, such as the scientific approach, project-based learning, and problem-based learning, is also a focal point of the research. Despite efforts to adopt these innovative methods, some teachers face difficulties in implementing evaluations, especially in the affective and cognitive aspects. This meta-analysis illustrates the need for better training, adequate administrative support, and task redistribution for teachers to overcome the challenges of curriculum changes. Furthermore, findings suggest the necessity of a differentiated approach based on the level of education and teacher certification status

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to examine the strengthening of character education in the implementation of the independent curriculum. With the Systematic Literature Review approach, it can provide information on whether schools have understood the independent curriculum, what are the obstacles faced by schools, and whether the Pancasila student profile has been implemented so that it becomes the character education of the whole student. This study examines 5 articles on strengthening character education in the implementation of the independent curriculum. From the results of the SRL, it can be concluded that strengthening character education in the implementation of the independent curriculum has obstacles, among others, not fully understanding the essence of "independent learning" so that it has not been able to optimize the strengthening of the Pancasila learner profile, limited time informed by the learners, limited time in learning activities, little subject substance, limited technological knowledge owned by the learners, very less learner attention to subjects and so on. According to the findings of this research, the independent curriculum is most effective in developing the character of its students through the development of the Pancasila student profile. Pancasila students engage in project-based learning activities as part of their profile development. The Pancasila learner profile is expected to produce graduates who demonstrate the characteristics and abilities or skills that are needed and achievable, as well as possessing the necessary skills and knowledge.

Abstract

This research aims to investigates models of language curriculum development in schools. Sometimes referred to as library research or librarianship, this study involves the exploration and acquisition of related materials from various sources, such as magazines, books, and articles on a specific issue. The process has been completed. The result of this research is curriculum development, encompassing the planning and design process by the curriculum model developer, along with activities conducted to transform it into teaching and reference materials to achieve national education goals. In designing the curriculum, teachers can choose from several models of Language Curriculum Development in Schools, including the Curriculum Model developed by Robert S. Zais, Peter F. Olivia, Jack Richard, and Graves. It is crucial to examine the strengths and weaknesses of each curriculum development model. The process of developing a language curriculum involves multiple stakeholders, including education administrators, education experts, curriculum experts, science experts, teachers, parents, and community leaders

Abstract

Clothing can be categorized into several types, such as everyday wear, workwear, festive attire, and traditional costumes. Everyday wear is used for daily activities at home or in society. Workwear is worn when someone is working, like teacher's attire or office clothing. Festive attire is specifically for celebration events, such as birthdays or weddings. On the other hand, traditional costumes are worn during customary ceremonies and hold sacred values. The traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Minangkabau carries philosophical and cultural significance for the community. It represents the position and role of a "bundo kanduang" in the Minangkabau traditional society. A "bundo kanduang" is an esteemed woman within a clan, responsible for domestic affairs in the community. The term "bundo kanduang" is often used as a synonym for women, yet its interpretation varies in the society of West Sumatra. There are three versions of the term: the story of "kaba" the perspective of women in West Sumatra, and the view of the Minangkabau traditional community. The traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Minangkabau has distinctive elements, such as "tingkuluak" (headpiece), "baju kuruang basiba" (upper garment), "kodek" (skirt), "salempang" (sash), jewelry, and footwear. Each part of the attire symbolizes specific meanings and signifies the role and responsibility of a "bundo kanduang" within her community. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method through observation, interviews, and documentation. The findings indicate that the traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" in Batipuah Baruah, Tanah Datar, possesses unique characteristics and profound cultural significance in Minangkabau's heritage. In conclusion, the preservation of the traditional costume of "bundo kanduang" is vital to safeguard the cultural richness of Minangkabau. With the passage of time, changes in the form of traditional attire can alter the meanings and symbols embedded within it. Therefore, documenting and inventorying the forms of traditional clothing is crucial for understanding and preserving this cultural heritage.Keywords: shapes, traditional clothes, bundo kanduang, women. AbstrakPakaian memiliki beberapa kategori, seperti pakaian sehari-hari, pakaian kerja, pakaian pesta, dan pakaian adat. Pakaian sehari-hari digunakan dalam aktivitas sehari-hari di rumah atau di tengah masyarakat. Pakaian kerja dipakai ketika seseorang sedang bekerja, seperti pakaian guru atau pakaian kantor. Pakaian pesta adalah pakaian khusus untuk acara perayaan, seperti ulang tahun atau pernikahan. Sedangkan pakaian adat adalah pakaian tradisional yang dipakai dalam upacara adat dan memiliki nilai sakral. Pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Minangkabau memiliki makna filosofi dan nilai budaya masyarakat yang mengenakannya. Pakaian ini menggambarkan posisi dan peran seorang bundo kanduang dalam masyarakat adat Minangkabau. Bundo kanduang adalah seorang wanita yang dituakan dalam suatu suku, yang memegang pimpinan urusan domestik dari suatu kaum dalam lingkungan masyarakat adat. Istilah bundo kanduang sering digunakan sebagai kata ganti untuk kaum wanita, namun pengertian bundo kanduang dalam masyarakat Sumatera Barat bervariasi. Terdapat tiga versi istilah bundo kanduang, yaitu versi cerita kaba, versi kaum wanita Sumatera Barat, dan versi masyarakat adat Minangkabau. Pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Minangkabau memiliki bentuk yang khas, seperti tingkuluak, baju kuruang basiba, kodek, salempang, perhiasan, dan alas kaki. Setiap bagian pakaian memiliki simbol dan makna tertentu yang menggambarkan peran dan tanggung jawab seorang bundo kanduang dalam kaumnya. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakaian adat bundo kanduang di Batipuah Baruah, Tanah Datar memiliki karakteristik yang unik dan memiliki makna mendalam dalam budaya Minangkabau. Abstract

AbstractThe learning of Arts and Culture plays a crucial role in shaping students' creativity, cultural understanding, and art appreciation. Despite its significance, Arts and Culture education faces several challenges, including insufficient school support, limited resources, technological challenges, and the availability of qualified teachers. Therefore, this research aims to explore the implementation of formative-summative evaluation models as an effort to enhance the quality of Arts and Culture education. The study employs a literature review method with four stages, involving the development of tools and equipment, compilation of bibliography, reading and noting research materials, and content and descriptive analysis. The results of the analysis reveal that the implementation of formative-summative evaluation models plays a central role in improving Arts and Culture education. Formative evaluation provides continuous feedback and identifies the need for improvement, while summative evaluation offers an overall picture of students' achievements. The application of this evaluation model involves the development of evaluation instruments, monitoring the learning process, adjusting teaching methods, providing feedback to students, identifying the need for improvement, and developing teaching and learning programs. The conclusions drawn from this study encompass the variation in the implementation of Arts and Culture education, the central role of teachers' creativity, and the positive impact of formative-summative evaluation models. Suggestions for further research involve a comparative study between schools, a focus on teacher qualifications, and further investigation into the influence of evaluation models on students' achievements and interest in the arts. Thus, the implementation of formative-summative evaluation models becomes an effective strategy in enhancing the quality of Arts and Culture education, contributing positively to students' creative development and cultural understanding.Keywords: formative-summative evaluation, arts and cultureAbstrakPembelajaran Seni Budaya memiliki peran krusial dalam membentuk kreativitas, pemahaman budaya, dan apresiasi seni siswa. Meskipun penting, pembelajaran Seni Budaya dihadapkan pada sejumlah tantangan, termasuk minimnya dukungan sekolah, keterbatasan sumber daya, tantangan teknologi, dan ketersediaan guru yang kompeten. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi implementasi model evaluasi formatif-sumatif sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran Seni Budaya. Studi ini menggunakan metode studi pustaka dengan empat tahap, melibatkan penyusunan alat dan perlengkapan, menyusun bibliografi, membaca dan mencatat bahan penelitian, serta analisis konten dan deskriptif. Hasil analisis mengungkapkan implementasi model evaluasi formatif-sumatif memainkan peran sentral dalam meningkatkan pembelajaran Seni Budaya. Evaluasi formatif memberikan umpan balik terus-menerus dan identifikasi kebutuhan perbaikan, sementara evaluasi sumatif memberikan gambaran keseluruhan tentang pencapaian siswa. Penerapan model evaluasi ini melibatkan pengembangan instrumen evaluasi, pemantauan proses pembelajaran, penyesuaian metode pengajaran, umpan balik kepada siswa, identifikasi kebutuhan perbaikan, dan pengembangan program belajar-mengajar. Kesimpulan dari studi ini mencakup variasi pelaksanaan pembelajaran Seni Budaya, peran sentral kreativitas guru, dan dampak positif model evaluasi formatif-sumatif. Saran untuk penelitian selanjutnya melibatkan studi komparatif antar sekolah, fokus pada kualifikasi guru, dan penelitian lebih lanjut tentang pengaruh model evaluasi terhadap prestasi dan minat siswa terhadap seni. Penelitian ini merupakan sebuah kajian literatur yang bertujuan untuk menggali fungsi media pembelajaran berbasis teknologi dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, serta memahami kebutuhan belajar yang muncul di abad ke-21. Transformasi digital dalam dunia pendidikan mendorong para pendidik untuk berpikir secara inovatif dan menerapkan media pembelajaran yang lebih interaktif dan adaptif. Mengingat Bahasa Indonesia merupakan mata pelajaran yang berfokus pada pengembangan keterampilan berbahasa, pemilihan metode yang sesuai dengan karakter generasi di era digital menjadi sangat penting. Dalam penelitian ini, beberapa media digital yang digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia, seperti video interaktif, program pendidikan, media sosial, dan situs belajar daring, akan dibahas. Berdasarkan analisis literatur, penggunaan media digital tidak hanya berhasil meningkatkan motivasi dan partisipasi mahasiswa, tetapi juga memperkuat kemampuan berpikir kritis, kreatif, dan kerja sama. Harapan dari studi ini adalah memberikan kontribusi teoretis yang bermanfaat untuk pengembangan metode pembelajaran yang lebih relevan dan produktif di masa depan.
