Abstract

This study aimed to solve the problems that were found in preliminary study. The research problem that was formulated “How can movie as media improve the speaking skill?” This research was conducted in SDN 002 UJUNGBATU, and the numbers of students were fiffteen. This research focussed on improving students’ speaking achievement by using movie as media. This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) as the research method. The subject of this study was the sixth grade students of SDN 002 Ujungbatu that consist of fifteen students. The steps of research procedure, they were: preliminary study (planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting) and data analysis. The data analysis used quantitative data that was obtained from the test. The researcher used scoring rubric to measure the students’ score, and then calculate the mean score.

Abstract

This research was conducted to improve students’ speaking skill at eighth grade students of SMPN 6 Rambahthrough role play strategy used a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method which is conducted to solve thestudents’ problem in English Speaking. The researcher did two cycles, which each cycle consists of planning, acting,observing, and reflecting. The qualitative data were gained by analyzing the field note and observation result andthe quantitative data were obtained from the students’ speaking score. The finding of this research indicated that theimplementation of role play strategy was successful since there is an improvement in students speaking skill. Thefinding showed an improvement in students speaking skill from the average of speaking test in cycle I was (56, 25)to (68, 62) the average of speaking skill in cycle II.

Abstract

This research used Classroom Action Research (CAR) to improved students’ vocabulary mastery at sixth grade students of SD Negeri 007 Bangun Purba. There were 32 students, they were 16 males and 16 females. In this research used two cycles. In this research, the researcher would like improved students’ vocabulary used scrabble. According to the research could be knows that the students’ average score improved from first cycle to the second cycle. According to the last test knows that the average score in the first cycle was 64.63. While, in the second cycle become 77.34. Based on the result, the researcher concluded that teaching vocabulary used scrabble could be improved students’ vocabulary at sixth grade students of SD Negeri 007 Bangun Purba

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to find out the effect of cubing technique in students’writing skill of analytical exposition text. The findings showed that there is significant effectbetween teaching analyrical exposition text with using cubing technique. It can be seen of thevalue of t0(thitung) = 7,183 is bigger than tt(ttable) with significance 5%= 2,00 by using cubingtechnique..

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out students’ reading comprehension on narrative text taught byusing Story Impression strategy and taught without using Story Impression strategy and to find out whetherthere was a significant effect of using Story Impression strategy toward reading comprehension of narrative textat the second year students at SMA Muhammadiyah Rambah. This research was an experimental research, thedesign of research was pre-test – post-test. The result of this research in post-test experimental group 22students got 95.7% ( good to excellent ). While in post-test control group 3 students got 11.5% ( good toexcellent ).

Abstract

This article discusses the basic concept and theories of education, pedagogy and andragogy. It explores various scholarly definitions and consepts about tranferring the knowledge to young learners and adult learners. The article will be useful for practicing teachers, students, college and university lecturers, school-based in-service coordinators, advisory teachers and school mentors dealing with the concepts and theories of education, pedagogy, and andragogy. This is a theoretical-based on the literature study. The result of the study argues that the competencies in teaching and understanding students in learning whether young learners and adult learners are an appropriate system in education. So, educators or stakeholders should consider for more understanding about education, pedagogy and andragogy in technology era now. The success of an education is largely determined by the approach used by educators and teachers in understanding concepts of education, pedagogy and andragogy, and learning material as well.

Abstract

Dalam penelitian ini dibahas pelanggaran maksim-maksim berdasarkan prinsip kerjasama dan makna yang tersirat di dalam slogan sepeda motor yang diproduksi perusahaan Jepang yang menggunakan Bahasa Inggris. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui jenis maksim yang dilanggar dan untuk mengetahui pesan yang terkandung dalam iklan sepeda motor tersebut.

Abstract

This research aims to enhance the activity and results of learning English through the method of administration tasks for Class X SMAN Rambah Hilir Rokan Hulu. This type of research is a classroom action research investigators. The model used in this study is a model cycle. The strategy used in this study is  classroom action research strategy with measures to hold action planning, observation or observation, carry out analysis and reflection. Data collection techniques used to obtain data inthis study, among other tests, as well as direct observation. The results showed that activity and increased student learning outcomes, in the first cycle obtained an average of learning outcomes, namely 76%. In Cycle II obtained an average value ofvalues of learning outcomes, namely 89%. From the results of these studies concluded that learning by using the method of administration tasks can increase the activity of students in learning English, and learning outcomes in students of Class X SMAN 02 Rambah Hilir to provide reinforcement and allow more students to participate in learning.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisa alur dan tempat dalam film “hukum rimba (the jungle book)” dan untuk mengetahui alur dan tempat dalam film  “hukum rimba (the jungle book)”. Data diperoleh dari alur dan tempat yang terdapat dalam film “hukum rimba (the jungle book)”. Data diambil dari film itu sendiri dan dari internet. Langkah- langkah dalam menganalis data adalah mengumpulkan data, menganalisis data dan menampilkan hasil analisis. Dalam mengumpulkan data digunakan metode observasi. Untuk menganalisis data digunakan formalist criticism dengan menggunkan teory Guerin (1992).
