Abstract

This study aims to determine the perspective of the Ciherang Village community on the implementation of agricultural digitalization. As the digital era develops, the use of technology in agriculture is a great opportunity to increase efficiency and production results. Through a qualitative approach, data were obtained from questionnaires with farmers and local community leaders. The results of the study showed that most people are interested in the use of agricultural digitalization, especially in terms of access to fertilizer information and marketing of crops. However, its implementation still faces obstacles such as low digital literacy, limited technological devices, and minimal digital understanding. Therefore, mentoring efforts, ongoing training, and improving digital infrastructure are needed so that agricultural digitalization can be implemented effectively and provide real benefits for farmers in Ciherang Village.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the readiness of farmers in Parakan Village to utilize digital platforms for marketing agricultural products. The methods used include interviews, focus group discussions (FGDs), mentoring, and the distribution of questionnaires to 30 members of the Mawar Farmer Group. Findings indicate a shift in farmers' behavior from relying on middlemen to independently marketing their products through social media. However, survey results show low levels of information access, active participation, and understanding of digital innovation. Innovation and digital literacy are key challenges, although some farmers expressed a willingness to learn. Continuous mentoring and collaboration between farmers, academics, and the government are essential to support an inclusive and sustainable digital transformation in the agricultural sector.

Abstract

Purpose: This program aimed to enhance farmers' knowledge of coconut husk waste management by transforming it into cocopeat, an eco-friendly planting medium. The initiative sought to promote sustainable agriculture and provide economic benefits for the community. Method: A participatory approach was used, involving community engagement through observation, socialization, training, and hands-on practice. The process included theoretical discussions, practical demonstrations, and knowledge assessments through pre- and post-tests. Practical Applications: Farmers learned to convert coconut husks into cocopeat using simple tools. The training increased awareness of waste management and provided an alternative planting medium with high water retention and nutrient content, benefiting agricultural productivity. Conclusion: The program successfully increased participants’ knowledge by 57%, demonstrating the effectiveness of agricultural extension in improving local resource utilization. Future efforts should focus on continued training and mentorship to ensure sustainable implementation and long-term benefits.

Abstract

This research program aimed to improve farmers’ understanding of the Jajar Legowo rice planting system and to analyze the factors influencing their perceptions. The program was conducted with the Sukatani Farmer Group in Tukdana Village, Indramayu Regency, using a mixed-method approach that combined observation, interviews, and questionnaires with 30 farmers. The results showed that farmers’ knowledge of the Jajar Legowo system was relatively low (54.17%), while their attitude was in the moderate category (58.92%). Correlation analysis revealed a strong relationship between knowledge and attitude (r = 0.672), which together shaped farmers’ perceptions of the system. Further analysis indicated that only land area had a significant influence on farmers’ perceptions, while age and education level showed no significant effect. Qualitative findings also revealed that farmers’ perceptions were influenced by direct farming experience, agricultural extension activities, institutional support, and social influence from leading farmers. Based on these findings, efforts to increase the adoption of the Jajar Legowo planting system require participatory extension strategies, hands-on demonstrations, and strengthened farmer group involvement.

Abstract

One of the community development methods is Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) with various techniques that strive for community development to be carried out according to the needs of the community. The Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method uses the basic concept of community involvement in all activities by emphasizing community participation. The Ministry of Education of the Republic of Indonesia encourages educational institutions to carry out Free Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) activities, as a learning platform for students as well as a space for implementing the tri dharma of higher education, especially in the context of community service. This paper intends to analyze the implementation of the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) activities through the Holistic Village Development and Development Program (PHP2D) in Bantarsari Village. The community development activities carried out by PHP2D consisted of several stages: identification of potentials and problems, formulation of action plans, follow-up (surveys, outreach, preparation of facilities and infrastructure, training on honey bee cultivation), evaluation and follow-up of the program at the Rukun Tani Group. Observations on the community development program conducted by PHP2D show that this activity has not been fully implemented in the spirit of community development. The activities carried out tend to be top down and are in the form of knowledge transfer without any organizing of community development subjects. The activities carried out showed that there was no direct participation by the Rukun Tani group so that the collectivity of the Rukun Tani groups did not appear for the Bantarsari Village PHP2D program and the program's sustainability was not implemented.
