Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujan untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan proses pengembangan buku panduan guru menggunaan software GeoGebra pada materi bangun ruang di masa pandemi Covid-19; (2) Mengetahui hasil pengembangan buku panduan guru menggunakan software GeoGebra pada materi bangun ruang di masa pandemi Covid-19. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian dan pengembangan. Model pengembangan yang dipilih adalah 4-D yang meliputi empat tahapan yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan, dan penyebaran. Subjek penelitian ini terdiri dari 4 guru matematika SMP Negeri 1 Prajekan. Metode pengumpulan data terdiri dari lembar validasi, lembar angket, pedoman wawancara, dan lembar observasi aktivitas guru. Metode analisis data dilakukan melalui uji kevalidan, uji kepraktisan, dan uji keefektifan. Hasil pengembangan buku panduan guru pada penelitian ini yaitu uji kevalidan menunjukkan bahwa produk telah valid dengan kategori sangat tinggi, uji kepraktisan produk juga menunjukkan bahwa produk dapat dikatakan praktis dengan kategori baik, dan uji keefektifan produk menunjukkan kategori baik sehingga produk juga telah efektif. Kesimpulannya produk buku panduan software geogebra pada materi bangun ruang dapat digunakan oleh guru untuk bisa membantu dan mendukung kegiatan mengajar disekolah terutama dimasa pandemi Covid-19

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya pengaruh yang signifikan penerapan fase pembelajaran van Hiele pada bahasan sifat-sifat segiempat terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini adalahh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Kencong yang kemudian diambil sampel yaitu kelas XI MIPA 1 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kelas XI MIPA 2 berjumlah 33 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Data hasil pengerjaan Van Hiele Geometry Test (VHGT) diambil sebagai pretest dan posttest yang kemudian dianalisis dengan menggunakan uji-t melalui bantuan software SPSS. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan penerapan teori van Hiele dibandingkan dengan kelompok siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan metode konvensional (thitung = 2,067 > ttabel = 1,997). Hal tersebut diperkuat dengan hasil analisis terhadap level berpikir geometri siswa yang menunjukkan bahwa 48,48% siswa pada kelas eksperimen mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol hanya 18,18% yang mengalami peningkatan level berpikir geometri. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa fase-fase pembelajaran van Hiele dapat diterapkan sebagai alternatif metode pembelajaran geometri di dalam kelas yang secara signifikan berpengaruhh terhadap tingkat berpikir geometri siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the profile of the implementation of mathematics learning in the class, the challenges that the teachers did, and the efforts which did is to overcome the challenges in the credit semester system in mathematics learning activities. The research subjects are the students and mathematics teachers of X class in SMA 1 Jember. Data collection methods used documentation, observation, and interview. Based on the results of research that can be proven by mathematical learning in the implementation of the Credit Semester System described based on learning planning, learning activities, and the authentic answer. The mathematics teacher make a preparation by compiling lesson plans that guided by the 2013 Curriculum RPP and compiling the UKBM that adapted to appropriate scientific indicators. In the implementation of learning, the teacher carries out learning activities by applying scientific request. The assessment also adjusted to the 2013 Curriculum indicators. The teacher's assessment consisted of the preparation of the Credit Semester System, students' readiness, and conversation. Efforts which did is to overcome these challenges are by conducting socialization and MGMP as well as providing motivation and stimulus to students while conducting learning activities.

Abstract

Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) is an ability that can create students in critical and creative individuals. The ways that can be used to reveal students' high-level thinking skills by using contextual problems in learning. The purpose of this study was to describe the profile of high order thinking of 8th-grade students in solving contextual problems regarding slerek boat. This research is a type of descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The research subjects were 8thH grade students of  SMPN 1 Muncar, which amounted to 28 students. Data retrieval using test questions and interview activities. From the results of data collection, the results show that the ability of 8thH grade students tends to be able to solve questions at the evaluation level. This can be seen from the results of the test questions where there is 1 student who can solve the question of creation level (C6), 22 students can solve the question of the level of evaluation (C5) and 5 students can solve the level of analysis (C4). Based on the results of interviews, students who can solve the question level C5 have good ability in analyzing problems can explain the settlement process both orally and in writing, besides that it’s also able to make a hypothesis and test the hypothesis made previously

Abstract

Mathematics can develop students' abilities in finding, analyzing, and solving problems. Problem solving in mathematics is usually found by students in everyday life. Problems related to fraction material are often encountered by students in buying and selling activities. Fractions are a difficult material for elementary school students, especially to solve problems associated with fractional material. Ways or methods that students can use in solving problems in learning mathematics can use the Polya method. The Polya method is one method that students can use to solve problems, but there are still many students who do not know how to solve problems so that students' ability to solve problems can be said to be low. This study aims to improve students' ability to solve mathematical problems in fractions using the Polya method. The method used in this study is the classroom research method (CAR) which consists of 2 cycles with 4 stages in each cycle. The stages of each cycle are planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected by giving a test to the research sample at the end of each cycle. The research is said to be successful if the average value of the class has increased. The results showed that the average grade of the students in the first cycle was 37 and in the second cycle it was 65.7. Based on the research results that have been described, this study has achieved its goal, namely the Polya method can improve students' ability to solve math problems in class V fractions at SDN Antirogo 01 Jember.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran geometri bangun ruang berbantuan GeoGebra yang valid, praktis, efektif dan menganlisis pengaruhnya terhadap kemampuan spasial siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode penelitian kombinasi atau mix method. Penelitian ini menggabungkan dua bentuk penelitian yaitu penelitian kualitatif dan penelitian kuantitatif. Subjek penelitian dalam penelitian ini terdiri dari tiga kelas siswa VI yang terdiri dari kelas uji coba, kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Proses pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran dilaksanakan melalui 4-D yaitu pendefinisian, perancangan, pengembangan dan penyebaran. Hasil pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran geometri bangun ruang berbantuan GeoGebra berupa RPP, LKS dan tes kemampuan spasial siswa yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Koefisien validitas RPP, LKS dan tes kemampuan spasial siswa berturut-turut adalah 3,80; 3,53; 3,58. Kriteria kepraktisan terpenuhi dari hasil keterlaksanaan perangkat pembelajaran sebesar 91,8% dengan kategori sangat baik. Kriteria keefektifan terpenuhi dari hasil observasi aktivitas siswa sebesar 93,41% dengan kategori aktif, angket siswa 89% respon memilih positif dan 82,2% siswa memenuhi kriteria ketuntasan. Berdasarkan penelitian eksperimen dan observasi, terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan perangkat pembelajaran geometri bangun ruang berbantuan GeoGebra terhadap kemampuan spasial siswa dengan nilai signifikasi 0.026 .Kata kunci: Bangun Ruang; GeoGebra; Kemampuan Spasial; Perangkat Pembelajaran.This study aims to analyze the results of the development of a geogebra-assisted space geometry learning tool that is valid, practical, effective and analyzes its effect on students' spatial abilities. The research method used in this study is a combination research method or mix method. This research combines two forms of research, namely qualitative research and quantitative research. The research subjects in this study consisted of three classes of VI students consisting of a trial class, an experimental class and a control class. The process of developing learning tools is carried out through 4-D, namely defining, designing, developing and disseminating. The results of the development of geometry learning tools build GeoGebra-assisted spaces in the form of Learning Implementation Plans, Student Worksheets and valid, practical and effective student spatial ability tests. The validity coefficient of the Learning Implementation Plan, Student Worksheet and student spatial ability test in a row is 3.80; 3,53; 3,58. The practicality criteria were met from the results of the implementation of learning tools by 91.8% with an excellent category. The effectiveness criteria were met from the results of student activity observations of 93.41% with the active category, student questionnaires 89% of responses chose positive and 82.2% of students met the completion.

Abstract

One of the problems that occur in mathematical subjects was the ability for students to solve problems that need the Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) still low. This problem also occurs in high school students (SMA) in Jember. The cause of the problem was that the mathematics teacher has not been skilled in making HOTS problems and has not guided students to solve HOTS problems. To overcome this problem, training activities followed by 118 high School Mathematics teachers held on 02 February 2019 at the center of MGMP (Teachers' discussion group) in Jember. The methods used were sharing information, discussions, and assignments to made HOTS mathematical problems, observation, test, and giving questioner. The results gained were the teacher's knowledge of the HOTS problem increasing from the average score of pretest 62 to the average score of posttest 85. The teacher's ability to make HOTS problems was already in good category, and all participants (100%) actively participate in training activities and give positive responses to the activity. The community services activity need to be continued in the future, because it is very important for improving teachers’ professionalism.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the types of errors made by students in solving curved face three-dimensional problems based on Kastolan’s stages reviewed from field-dependent and field-independent cognitive styles. This study uses descriptive research with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were 4 students of class IX A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Jember who had completed the cognitive style test and soblukan ethno mathematical story questions, then continued with interviews to obtain more in-depth information. The subject was chosen based on the work of students who made the most mistakes according to the Kastolan error stage indicator. The results obtained in this study are field-dependent students mostly make conceptual, procedural, and technical errors. The form of conceptual error experienced was that students misinterpreted the problem in the form of pictures, students did not conceptualize the height of the cone, and students misinterpreted the shape of the cylinder. The form of procedural error experienced was wrong in determining the formula and students were wrong in determining the surface area of ​​the soblukan’s lid. The form of technical error experienced, students were wrong in doing calculations. The field-independent students made more technical errors. The form of technical error is that students are wrong in doing calculations. Through this research, it is expected that teachers can design learning to minimize student errors in solving problems by looking at the types of errors that have the most.

Abstract

This research will describe students’ visual-spatial intelligence in terms of personality. There are four personality types, they are sanguine, choleric, melancholy, and phlegmatic. The subjects of this research are students of class X BIC 1 and X BIC 2 in MAN 1 Jember. The methods used in this research are test and interview. There are 5 subjects in this study, they are 1 sanguine, 1 choleric, 2 melancholy and 1 phlegmatic. This research uses descriptive design with qualitative approach. The result of this research shows that students’ visual-spatial intelligence consists of imagination, conceptualization, problem solving and pattern-seeking which range from level 1 to level 5. Melancholy students tend to be creative in solving two-dimensional figures problems.

Abstract

Profil pemecahan masalah merupakan gambaran secara umum mengenai kegiatan memecahkan masalah matematika yang dilakukan oleh siswa dengan menggunakan lima tahapan pemecahan masalah model IDEAL, yaitu mengidentifikasi masalah, mendefinisikan masalah, mencari solusi, melaksanakan strategi, dan mengkaji kembali serta mengevaluasi pengaruhnya. Hal tersebut menjadi menarik ketika dikaitkan dengan kemampuan matematika. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan profil siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi dalam memecahkan soal cerita pokok bahasan Aritmatika Sosial. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif. Siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi diberi dua soal tes pemecahan masalah, kemudian dilakukan wawancara untuk mengetahui lebih dalam proses dalam memecahkannya. Hasil yang diperoleh adalah siswa berkemampuan matematika tinggi mampu memenuhi semua indikator dari setiap tahap pemecahan model IDEAL. Hal ini terlihat dari hasil pekerjaan yang diberikan dan wawancara yang dilakukan oleh peneliti terhadap siswa tersebut.
