Kawista is one of plant that is used as traditional medicine. One of the utilization of kawista is the consumtion of this unripe fruit to cure diarrhea. Etanolic extract of this fruit contains phytochemical components that has antibacterial activity. Study about Phytochemical Screening and Antibacterial Test of Ethanolic Extract of Kawista from Aceh Besar against Escherichia coli has been conducted on June 27 until July 14, 2016. The aims of the study is to determine phytochemical contents of ethanolic extract of fruit pulp of kawista and the effect of various concentrations against the growth of E. coli. Kawista which is used in the study gained from Aceh Besar. Phytochemical test showed that ethanolic extract of fruit pulp of kawista contain various active compounds such as alkaloids, saponins, tannins, triterpenoids, and polyphenols. E. coli that is used in this study were obtained from Microbiology Laboratory of Veterinary Faculty, Syiah Kuala University. The method used in the study is laboratory experiment using a quantitative type of Completely Randomized Design (CRD), which are divided into 7 groups, 5 treatment groups (ethanolic extract of fruit pulp of kawista) and 2 control groups using aquades (negative control) and streptomycin (positive control). Data analysis was performed by using ANOVA (Analysis of Variance) and then proceed with the test of HSD (Honestly Significant Difference) at α 5%. Antibacterial test results showed ethanolic extract of fruit pulp of kawista could inhibit the growth of E. coli (317.5 2.85). The highest inhibitory zone obtained at 500.000 ppm, with an average diameter of 16.141 mm. Conclusion of the study is showing that the extract of kawista pulps has antibacterial activity against E. coli bacterial growth. The higher concentration of the extract, the greater antibacterial activity against E. coli bacterial growth. Keywords: Ethanolic extract of kawista, antibacterial, Escherichia coli.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of ethanol extract of melinjo leaves on the weight of chicken eggs. The method used is the experimental method Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 6 replications. Data were analyzed by Variant Analysis and DMRT Advanced Test (Duncan Multiple Range Test ) at a significant level of 0.05, as well as quantitative descriptive analysis. The results showed that F count > F Table, it can be said that the extract of the leaves of Melinjo significantly affected the weight and shelf life of chicken eggs. Soaking the eggs using the most effective extract of melinjo leaf was used at the concentration of P3 (300,000 ppm). The best value P3 treatment after administration of ethanol extract of melinjo leaves and stored at room temperature for 21 days (Week III), namely at the value of egg weight = 51.17 grams from the initial weight of the egg 53 grams.. It can be concluded that the administration of ethanol extract of melinjo leaves had an effect on the weight and shelf life of race chicken eggs for 21 days with extract concentrations of 300,000 ppm.

Practical skills play an important role in learning to achieve maximum learning outcomes. Lack of involvement in skills activities has an impact on learning outcomes achieved by students.This study aims to analyze the improvement of science process skills and student learning outcomes by applying the discovery learning model and the use of a virtual laboratory. The research method was a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest control group design. The population was 165 students of class XI IPA who came from two schools. The research sample was 113 students, 57 experimental group and 56 control group. This research was conducted in MAN 1 and MAS Oemar Diyan Aceh Besar, Aceh, Indonesia. The research was conducted in the even semester of the 2019/2020 Academic Year. The parameters measured were science process skills and learning outcomes, data collection instruments were multiple choice questions with pretest-postest techniques. Science process skills data and learning outcomes were analyzed using parametric statistics using the independent sample t test. The results showed the correlation between science process skills and student learning outcomes was obtained r = 0.842, this indicates that between science process skills and student learning outcomes has a positive corelation with strong interpretation after being taught with the application of discovery learning models and the use of virtual laboratory on excretory system topic

AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik setelah diterapkan model pembelajaran Problem Solving pada materi indera penglihatan dan alat optik di SMP N 8 dan SMP N 18 Banda Aceh. Metode yang digunakan adalah quasi eksperimental design, dengan menggunakan rancangan pretest-posttes control group desaindan pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Pengambilan data dilakukan pada bulan April – Mei 2017, penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada 4 kelas yaitu kelas VIII-2 dan VIII-1 sebagai kelas ekperimen, sedangkan kelas VIII-4 dan VIII-3 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrument penelitian menggunakan tes dalam bentuk soal pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 30 butir soal dan angket motivasi belajar peserta didik. Analisis data menggunakan uji independen sampel t-test pada taraf signifikan 0,05 untuk perbedaan hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol. Data angket motivasi peserta didik dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif.Hasil analisis menunjukkan (1) motivasi belajar peserta didik kelas ekperimen dan kelas kontrol berbeda signifikan. (2) hasil belajar kelas ekperimen dengan kelas kontrol menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan terdapat perbedaan motivasi belajar peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol, terdapat perbedaan hasil belajar dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran problem solving di SMP N 8 dan SMP N 18 Banda Aceh.Kata kunci:Problem Solving, Motivasi, Hasil Belajar,Indera PenglihatanAlat Optik.

Ethnoscience knowledge is still underdeveloped in science learning. One of the ethnoscience knowledge that has been passed down from generation to generation in Aceh is smong which has a close relationship with disaster risk reduction. SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh is one of the areas that has been affected by the earthquake and tsunami so that smong knowledge needs to be introduced to students. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in learning outcomes and student responses. The population of this study were all seventh grade students of SMP Negeri 8 Banda Aceh. The sample was selected by random sampling, namely 71 students divided into experimental and control classes. Research parameters are learning outcomes measured through pretest-posttest and student responses through questionnaires. Based on data analysis, there are significant differences in student learning outcomes between the control and experimental classes after using ethnoscience-based worksheets as indicated by the value of Sig. (2-tailed) 0.05. The percentage of student responses obtained was 89.58 with a very good category. The results obtained prove that the use of ethnoscience-based worksheet can improve student learning outcomes and get a positive response

AbstrakMedia audiovisualberbasis discovery learningdigunakan untuk membantu siswa dalam memahami konsep IPA yang bersifat abstrak, sehingga materi yang disampaikan lebih menarik dan nyata. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menigkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa dengan menggunakan media audio visual berbasis discovery learning. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian desain eksperimen semu dengan grup eksperimen dan kontrol pada materi organ dan organisme dengan populasi seluruh siswa kelas VII MTsN Tungkop Aceh Besar sebanyak 204 siswa. Sampel yang digunakan adalah peserta didik kelas VII-4 dan VII-6 sebagai kelas eksperimen sebanyak 78 siswa dan kelas VII-3 dan VII-5 sebagai kelas kontrol sebanyak 78 siswa pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2016-2017 yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Tes berbentuk pilhan ganda yang berjumlah 10 soal digunakan sebagai instrument dalam penelitian ini. Hasil akhir menunjukkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pada setiap subtansi KBK kelas eksperimen dengan rata-rata N-Gain masing-masing sebesar 46%, 43%, dan 44% sedangkan kelas kontrol sebesar 41%, 35%, dan 33%, sedangkan hasil analsis uji t antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesar thitung 4,230 ttabel 1,991. Dari hasil perhitungan N-gain diperoleh rata-rata pada kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yaitu 46 dan 37 keduanya berada pada kategori sedang. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan audio visual berbasis discovery learning pada kelas eksperimen dapat meningkatkan KBK dan hasil belajar siswa pada materi organ dan organisme dibandingkan kelas kontrol. serta mendapat respon sangat tertarik dari siswa dengan rata-rata persentase 97,90.Kata kunci: Media audio visual, discovery learning, keterampilan berpikir kritis, organ dan organisme

AbstrakPenelitianini bertujuan untukmengetahuipengaruhLKPD berbasis discovery learning terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada materi sistem pencernaan makanan di kelas VIII MTsN Rukoh Banda Aceh.Desainpenelitian adalah eksperimensemu (quasyexsperimen) denganrancanganthepretest and posttest nonequivalent control group design. Data dianalisismenggunakan pendekatan kuantitatifdenganujistatistikuji t danN-Gain.Hasilanalisis data diperoleh sebagaiberikut: LKPD berbasis discovery learningmaterisistem pencernaanterjadi peningkatan hasil belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen dengan N-Gain sebesar 0,36% dengan kategori sedang, sedangkan pada kelas kontrol sebesar 0,07% dengan kategori rendah. Hasil analisis menggunakan uji t terjadi perbedaan yang signifikan antara kelas eksperimen dan kontrol sebesarthitung2,113ttabel2,002, makadapatdisimpulkanbahwapengaruh LKPD berbasis discovery learningmaterisistem pencernaan makanan dapat peningkatan hasil belajar siswa.Kata Kunci:LKPD berbasis discovery learning, hasil belajar, sistem pencernaan makanan.

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar peserta didik dengan penerapan model Learning Cycle 7E pada materi interaksi makhluk hidup di SMP. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode quasi experimental design, yaitu dengan rancangan pretest-posttest control group design, pemilihan sampel menggunakan teknik purposive sampling. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SMP Negeri 8 dan SMP Negeri 18 Banda Aceh. Instrument penelitian menggunakan tes soal pilihan ganda yang berjumlah 30 butir dan angket motivasi belajar peserta didik. Analisis data perbedaan hasil belajar kelas kontrol dan eksperimen menggunakan uji idependent sampel t-test dan uji Mann Whitney pada taraf signifikan 0,05. Angket motivasi peserta didik dianalisis dengan statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian diperoleh bahwa motivasi belajar kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol berbeda secara signifikan dengan perolehan nilai Zhitung 3,211 Ztabel 1,96. Hasil belajar kelas eksperimen dan kontrol juga berbeda secara signifikan dengan perolehan nilai (thitung 8,06ttabel 1,99). Kesimpulan dalam penelitian ini yaitu terdapat perbedaan motivasi dan hasil belajar belajar peserta didik antara kelas eksperimen dengan kelas kontrol peserta didik di SMP N 8 dan SMP N 18 Banda Aceh. One of the causes of the low critical thinking skills of participants is caused by the learning process that focuses on mastering concepts alone without involving students to construct knowledge independently. Less comprehensive learning tools are the main obstacles that are often encountered in the implementation of learning. Project based learning is a constructivist method that is able to involve students to construct knowledge empirically, one of which is by utilizing the content of ethnoscience as a contextual approach in project learning. This study aims to develop a quality ethnoscience-based Project based learning devices in terms of content validity and empirical validity. This study uses the research and development method with the ADDIE model. The research was conducted at SMA Negeri 1 Gandapura. The research instrument used a validation sheet, student response questionnaires and teacher response questionnaires. Data analysis used the Aiken V coefficient for critical thinking skills test questions; Interclass correlation coefficient for lesson plans, Student Worksheets and Handouts; percentage formula for teacher and student response questionnaires. The results showed that the ethnoscience-based Project based learning devices were categorized as very feasible and could improve the critical thinking skills of students with an N-gain of 0.88 which was classified as high, and received a positive response from the teacher with a percentage of 96.71% and students by 86.35%
