Abstract

Industrial Revolution 4.0 requires schools to produce graduates who are not only good in memorizing various materials, but also must have the skills to think critically. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is one of the learning models that is deemed good in training students' critical thinking skills, including students in Islamic schools. The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of problem-based learning on students' critical thinking skills in Islamic schools. This type of research is a quasi-experimental with random sampling as the sampling technique. The research sample was 66 students. Data collection uses instruments in the form of description tests that are adjusted to the indicators of critical thinking skills. The research analysis technique used was the t-test to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on students' critical thinking skills. The result of the research shows that the average score of the class where the critical thinking skills through PBL are applied is higher than the class that does not apply PBL. The result of the data analysis using the t-test obtained that the value of tcount bigger ttable is 4.119 > 1.997 with a significance level of 5 %, so it is said that the PBL model influences students' critical thinking skills. It is suggested to make PBL learning becomes a mandatory choice to be applied in the learning process with the learning steps that have an impact on the students' thinking process.

Abstract

Creative thinking skills are one of the primary skills in 21st-century. The purpose of this research was to determine the PjBL Model's effect on students' creative thinking skills in physics. This research was a quasi-experimental research. The population of this research was all tenth-grade science students of SMA N 2 Bandar Lampung. The instrument in this study was test instrument to measure students' creative thinking skills. Based on the data, the PjBL model affected the creative thinking skills of students in physics materials evidenced by the results of data analysis with a sig value of 0.00, which was lower than 0.05. Therefore, H1 was accepted or there were differences in students’ creative thinking skills. Therefore, it can be concluded that the PjBL model affects students' creative thinking skills on physics material. It is recommended for further researchers to apply the PjBL model to other learning materials.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the results of organoleptic tests on getuk lindri treated with natural dyes from telang flower (Clitoria ternatea L.), red dragon fruit skin (Hylocereus polyrhizus.) and black rice (Oryza sativa L.). the method used is by using a completely randomized design (CRD) using 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. Based on the results of organoleptic tests of Getuk Lindri products by utilizing several types of plants containing anthocyanin pigments, the quality standards are classified as good with natural dyes of dragon fruit skin. On the other hand, of the three types of plants that contain anthocyanin pigments, all three can be used as natural dyes that produce different colors. In addition, plants containing anthocyanin pigments used were able to inhibit bacterial growth, this was seen from the total plate number for each treatment which did not exceed the maximum limit of SNI 01-4299-1996 (getuk cassava).Abstrak Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu Untuk mengetahui hasil uji organoleptik pada getuk lindri yang diberi pewarna alami dari bunga telang (Clitoria ternatea L.), kulit buah naga merah ( Hylocereus polyrhizus.) dan beras hitam (Oryza sativa L.). metode yang digunakan yaitu dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan menggunakan 4 perlakuan dan 3 kali pengulangan.

Abstract

Students' critical thinking has been a significant concern within education development efforts, and this needs to be addressed and promoted by teachers. However, most teachers barely promote this skill, especially related to Islamic education, which leads to more challenges for students in learning Islam. Therefore, encouraging innovation and strategies to develop students' critical thinking in learning Islam is necessary. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the neuroscientific approach and how it can develop students' critical thinking skills. This research used a Quasi-Experimental method with a pretest-posttest design. Eighth-grade students at SMPN 1 Talangpadang Tanggamus were the population of this research. Only two classes, Class VIII.1 (experimental class) and Class VIII.3 (control class) were used as the research sample chosen using simple random sampling. The result of the research showed that the neuroscientific approach has a significant influence on improving students' critical thinking skills. However, the degree of the influence was varied across the data. Moreover, this research also showed that the implementation of the neuroscientific approach in learning should be explored and expanded to promote students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Green water in fish ponds, caused by algal blooms, harbors a diverse array of microalgae species and is commonly observed in aquaculture settings. This resource-rich water source holds promise for research focused on microalgae cultivation at a laboratory scale, serving as a valuable starter sample for such investigations. Preliminary observations suggested that the predominant species in such green water habitat belonged to the genus Micractinium Fresenius 1858. An effective isolation technique of this microalgae species is necessary, not only to reduce the contamination of the rotifers but also to purify the starter cultures. Although automated microalgae isolation techniques have been developed recently, such as using Flow Cytometry via Cell Sorting, traditional isolation techniques are still relevant. One of the traditional microalgae isolation techniques that has been widely used for many years is the dilution technique. This study aims to isolate Micractinium pusillum Fresenius from fish ponds using the modified dilution technique: SDE (sedimentation, dilution, and enrichment). The dilution results showed that rotifer contamination was reduced at a dilution of 10─3 and the density of microalgae was also reduced. At this dilution level, only one type of microalgae was observed, i.e., Micractinium pusillum Fresenius. which was then cultured for enrichment using a simple photobioreactor. This 10-3 culture was observed to grow well during the enrichment stage for 10 days. These results indicate that the SDE isolation technique can be effectively used to isolate microalgae from green water, especially for Micractinium pusillum which is the most abundant microalgae species in green water in this study.
