Abstract

Abstract

The HIV virus progressively weakens the immune system, and causes malnutrition, weight loss and muscle wasting. This is due to increased body metabolism but decreased intake, sometimes accompanied by nausea, vomiting and decreased appetite due to the drugs given, accompanied by with diarrhea for more than two weeks, as well as mouth ulcers due to fungal infections and difficulty swallowing. Based on 2021 data, there are 49 people living with HIV in the city of Blitar and the data available at health facilities is very supportive, namely that the average CD4 cell examination of PLWHA has decreased. This problem needs to be addressed immediately, because it hampers the goals of HIV AIDS management, especially the fast track 95-95-95 program, which means 95% of PLWHA know their HIV status, 95% of PLWHA take ARVs, and 95% of PLWHA have suppressed viral loads. This community service activity aims to increase the immunity of PLWHA in the greater Blitar area through consuming balanced nutrition & high in antioxidants. The target is 25 PLWHA who are actively participating in Peer Support (KDS) groups in Blitar Raya. Normal CD4 test results are 500 to 1,600 cells per mm3 of blood (cells/mm3). Of the 25 PLWHA, 18 people (72%) had a score below (500) and 7 people (28%) had a score above (500), with the lowest score being 81 and the highest result being 959. In general, they had good motivation and were taking ARV medication. routinely. The activity continued with education about how to eat healthy food properly, how to choose food ingredients high in anti-oxidants, how to cook it properly, and also taught how to practice food portioning for PLWHA

Abstract

The quality of life of ODHA will be affected by various problems including stigma and discrimination from society which becomes a double burden for people with HIV/AIDS. Stigma is a negative view that is attached to a person that comes from the environment. Negative stigma and discrimination from society will make the condition of HIV/AIDS sufferers worse, the body continues to decline because it has to work hard as a breadwinner. As an alternative that can be used as leverage to increase productivity, KDS provides skills as a provision for their lives, namely making batik which is developed through Cap and canting, has a contribution of domestic products and from local wisdom as a characteristic of Indonesia, which can increase regional contributions and is in demand by all levels of society. The KDS and ODHA empowerment program through batik-making work therapy has proven successful in increasing the knowledge and skills of participants, where most participants showed increased knowledge and practical skills in making batik. Through these skills, KDS members can produce quality products that can be marketed and contribute to the local economy. This program also shows a positive impact in reducing stigma and discrimination against ODHA in the Blitar Raya community, by creating a new and positive social identity. With the right sustainability strategy, this empowerment can make a long-term contribution to improving the welfare of ODHA and encouraging better social acceptance in society

Abstract

Background: The maternal mortality rate in Indonesia is still considered high, at 305 per 100,000 live births. Hypertension in pregnancy is the second largest cause of maternal death in Indonesia. In 2018, two mothers died due to hypertension in pregnancy at the Simpang Periuk Health Center, Lubuklinggau City. One of the causes of hypertension in pregnancy that leads to death is the lack of information obtained by pregnant women. Health promotion through booklet media is a solution to increase the knowledge, attitudes and actions of pregnant women regarding the prevention of hypertension in pregnancy. BARA (Small Book of Prevention of Hypertension in Pregnancy) is a small book containing specific knowledge about successful strategies for preventing hypertension in pregnancy. Providing knowledge about the prevention of hypertension in pregnancy through booklets distributed to pregnant women has never been done at the Simpang Periuk Health Center. Purpose: To compare the average score, difference, and percentage change in knowledge, attitude, and action regarding hypertension prevention before and after receiving BARA in pregnant women. Method: Quantitative research using quasi-experimental design with control group. The sample used was 60 pregnant women obtained by Accidental Sampling formula. The study was conducted at Simpang Periuk Health Center, Lubuklinggau City. This location was chosen because based on initial data, the researcher concluded that many pregnant women at Simpang Periuk Health Center still have low levels of knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding hypertension in pregnancy. Group 1 was given a printed BARA book, while Group 2 was included in the WhatsApp group where the electronic BARA book was distributed. Participants read the booklet and were encouraged to ask questions if they found something unclear. Results: Almost all participants were aged between 20-35 years (90%) with an average age and standard deviation of 27.21 and 4.498. The majority of participants had a high school education (48.3%) and most participants were housewives (52%). The average results of hypertension prevention actions in pregnancy in participants who used printed and electronic books increased significantly. Preventive actions in the group using printed booklets increased from 16.33 to 19.20, while in the e-booklet group increased from 16.07 to 19.13. The results of the Wilcoxon statistical test showed a p-value of 0.000 (p <0.05). This indicates a significant difference in actions before and after health promotion. Conclusion: There is a significant difference in the level of knowledge, attitudes, and actions regarding hypertension in pregnancy before and after health education using both printed and electronic booklets. There was a significant increase in knowledge, attitudes, and actions to prevent hypertension in pregnancy (p<0.000) in both groups. The greatest increase occurred in the group given the e-booklet.

Abstract

Babies are golden periods because in this period the babies will experience very significant. One of the influences on a baby's growth and development is providing nutrients to the baby appropriately according to his age, one of which is a complementary food. The purpose study was to determine the relationship between maternal behavior in early breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in infants, in addition to identify mothers' breastfeeding behavior, the type of complementary food given, and the incidence of diarrhea in early breastfeeding. The method used a Traditional Study Review design and used the keywords "mother's behavior," "early complementary food," and "Baby diarrhea." This review study used a population of Infants 0-6 months. Exposure to Maternal Behavior in Early Breastfeeding, Outcome Incidence of Diarrhea, and Design Study Journal Articles used a cross-sectional design approach, analytical correlation, and analytical observational survey. Results showed a relationship between mothers' behavior in early breastfeeding and the incidence of diarrhea in infants. Mothers giving complementary food for less than six months were caused by factors such as low maternal knowledge and skills, which refer to the mother's low level of education. Medical personnel must be more active in counseling parents, especially mothers who have babies, about early complementary food to minimize the incidence of diarrhea in babies.

Abstract

Breast milk is the most important nutrient for fulfilling the growth and development needs in infants. Obstacles during exclusive breastfeeding to infants are usually caused by non-breast milk and a lack of production of breast milk, which is usually due to insufficient stimulation of the prolactin and oxytocin hormones. The objective of this study was to determine breast milk production in postpartum mothers. Experimental research design using pre-experimental design in the form of the one-shot case study. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling, obtained a many as 26 respondents. This research was conducted in February-March 2024 at Dr. Soedono Madiun Hospital. The results found that breast milk production in mothers increased after Oketani massage. The breast milk will be 100% out when massage is done on day 1 afternoon and maximum on day 3 morning, when massage is done 2x a day. So this study states that this massage is very effective in increasing breast milk production. After this study, respondents already knew how to do breast care in the form of Oketani massage. And so that they can do this massage regularly at home, so that it can facilitate and increase breast milk production.
