Abstract

The implementation of the Adiwiyata program is expected to enhance students' awareness and understanding of environmental issues, fostering a strong sense of ecoliteracy. However, based on the facts in the field, the existence of the Adiwiyata program has not been able to guarantee an increase in environmental awareness among students. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in fostering and developing student ecoliteracy. This study is a descriptive research employing quantitative methods, aimed at objectively describing and analyzing existing phenomena or conditions related to the implementation of the Adiwiyata program and its impact on student ecoliteracy. In collecting data, researchers used a questionnaire completed directly by junior high school students participating in the Adiwiyata program, involving 101 students from six schools. The data collected from respondents were analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. This study shows that students in Adiwiyata schools show a level of ecoliteracy in the sufficient category. This is due to various factors, one of which is that the implementation of the Adiwiyata program in junior high schools in Padang City is still relatively voluntary and independent. Support from all stakeholders, including the education office and local communities, is necessary to ensure that the Adiwiyata program is not only symbolic but also truly creates a sustainable ecoliteracy transformation.

Abstract

The implementation of project-based learning in social sciences learning subjects contains learning material regarding the types of social institutions, religion, economics, and politics. The purpose of this paper is to describe the evaluation of project-based learning in social science learning subjects in elementary schools. The method used is a literature review with a meta-analysis of ten national-indexed journal review results based on the evaluation of project-based learning on learning subjects in elementary schools. The research results were grouped and analyzed based on the evaluation of project-based learning in social sciences learning subjects in elementary schools. The analysis results of a number of research indicate that there are (a) inadequacies of teacher skills in the use of learning models that encourage students in the learning process, (b) inadequate learning media used in social sciences learning subjects, (c) still using conventional teaching method in teaching and learning process so that students do not achieve the results from learning, and (d) insufficient teacher’s competence in the implementation of project-based learning in social sciences learning subjects in elementary schools. Through the four results of the evaluation of social sciences learning subjects in elementary schools, Students’ independence and discipline can increase so that they can communicate and achieve learning objectives.

Abstract

Elementary teachers need to be trained to be able to master the 21st century skills needed in teaching elementary students, including critical thinking, creative, and programming (ICT) skills. For this reason, the authors need to share knowledge with teachers so they can recognize and apply basic programming skills to be able to think computationally, which they can later use in their learning in class. One of them is by providing block programming training with the Scratch application to elementary school teachers in the Cluster III area, Tilatang Kamang District, Agam Regency by creating a programming project with the Scrath application which they can later use as a learning medium. The training that was carried out received a fairly good response from the teachers present and they stated that the applications practiced were very suitable to be applied in teaching and used by elementary school children and they were very interested in being able to later apply them to their students in learning in their respective classes.

Abstract

This paper identifies and analyzes education policies after the pandemic in elementary schools. Education policy refers to the legislation no. 20 of 2003, which aims to build a foundation of the whole nation in order to realize good educational standards. This legislation is in line with the legislation no. 23 of 2014, which states that local governments have authority in educational services because it is the government's obligation to fulfill basic community services. The method is carried out with descriptive qualitative. The method is used to describe imposed policies after the Covid-19 pandemic. The analyses are observations and interviews at three elementary schools in Padang. The research results indicate that education policies after COVID19 in elementary schools are retrieved from the regional head policies who are autonomous related to educational supervision during the outbreak that was carried out by monitoring elementary schools to show school preparation for face-to-face learning. Obstacles in implementing educational policies come from limited communication with students in terms of material explanation that demands to complete curriculum achievements.

Abstract

The implementation of social science learning in elementary schools tends to build cognitive abilities mainly rather than to build the attitude or character of students. In fact, based on the learning material, social science learning has a role in the student’s character building. In addition, the learning media used by teachers tend to be conventional so it is monotonous. The research purpose is to produce and describe social science learning media valued for fifth-grade elementary students. The development method used is Research and Development (R&D). The developmental model used is the ADDIE model developed by Dick and Carry. The research is limited to the developmental stage. The research data collection instrument uses a validity questionnaire sheet. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained an average percentage of learning material validity at 97.78%, language validity at 97.78%, and design validity at 93.33% with very valid validity criteria for the three validities. It shows that social science learning media is a feasible character for being one of the social science learning media for fifth-grade elementary students.

Abstract

Social science learning education describes the development of the social science curriculum for every school level in Indonesia. IPS learning education and development have a dynamic and polemic history in Indonesia. The review of IPS learning education and development has a historical method that can explain the development of IPS learning education adapted from the pioneers of IPS educational development, America and England, as a reference for IPS learning education in Indonesia. The development of social science learning education in Indonesia is based on the condition of the Indonesian community and government. Hence, it influences the monitoring and revision of the social science learning education curriculum in Indonesia. The research used literature reviews collected based on several journal reviews that are historically grouped based on a review of the social science curriculum use in elementary school. The results indicate that IPS educational education requires the development of technological sophistication that involves the community as an object of social learning education and development. Clearly, the development of social learning education requires the involvement of the current development in line with the sophistication of technology and society to be developed dynamically on social science in Indonesian education.

Abstract

Mathematics learning in elementary schools is often perceived as abstract and difficult, resulting in low motivation, weak conceptual understanding, and limited confidence among students. This phenomenon poses a challenge in the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum, which emphasizes differentiated, student-centered, and culturally relevant learning. To address this issue, Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT) has been introduced as a pedagogical approach that integrates students’ cultural backgrounds into mathematics learning. This study employed a meta-analysis method by reviewing 10 national journal articles published within the last five years. Data were collected through documentation using Google Scholar with the keywords “Culturally Responsive Teaching in mathematics learning.” The analysis was conducted using Wilson and Kelley’s nine-step procedure, focusing on research purposes, design, data collection techniques, and data analysis methods. The results showed that 80% of studies aimed at improving learning outcomes, while 70% applied classroom action research designs. Most data were collected through tests and observations (50%), and analysis predominantly used combined quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods (50%). Overall, the findings indicate that CRT positively impacts students’ mathematical understanding, motivation, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Despite challenges in connecting abstract concepts with cultural contexts, CRT proves effective in creating inclusive, meaningful, and culturally relevant mathematics learning under the Merdeka Curriculum.
