Abstract

The advancement of the health sector has an impact on life expectancy which is getting higher and along with the increase of the elderly population. The City of Pekanbaru has the highest projection of the number of elderly people in Riau Province. This is a problem because in Pekanbaru only has a nursing home that is out of balance with an increase in the number of elderly people so that a nursing home is needed that provides an alternative place of residence for the elderly. Nursing homes with Frank Lloyd Wright's organic architectural design precedents provide a decent atmosphere for the residents, not just a home for the elderly but by making art created by the aesthetics of building design. Frank Lloyd Wright's design precedents were used as an effort to realize the design of nursing homes that could stimulate the elderly by bringing them closer to nature. Abstract

Modern dance is currently very popular in Pekanbaru city because modern dance identical with everything that is new and not difficult to learn, this is proven by many modern dance communities in Pekanbaru city. From year to year the modern dance community in Pekanbaru cityis increasing, along with many large annual events held in Pekanbaru city. The method in this design is to use the metaphor Architecture approach by applying all its characteristics. The conceptthat used is arm wave, obtained from one of the modern dance movements. Abstract

Entering the Era of globalization with marked advances in education made many traditional Islamic Boarding began to gradually enter the general education curriculum in it, changes thatoccur in the actual Boarding School is the anticipation of Pondok pesantren itself in answering the challenges of globalization. According to data from the Dept. of Education Dumai City (2018),each new school year about 1500 students from Dumai wish to continue education at boarding school, 1500 only 300 were in school in Dumai, the rest go to school abroad, students male moredominate in the quarters. The problems that exist in the Boarding School in Kota Dumai is, the limited capacity of the prospective students due to insufficient number of classrooms, the competitiveness amongst prospective students with prospective students the local area entrants, the boarding students are limited, lack of facilities offered by the Boarding School to prospective students to make prospective students looking take boarding school facilities. limitations for landand the high price of land the days to come will have an impact on the shape and composition of school buildings, especially the shape of the building Boarding School, in anticipation of the highprice of land in the future, the planning and design of Modern Boarding with this form of the mass of a single building, To support the mass of a single building design, architects experienced in thisfield are Le Corbusier, almost all of his work resulted in a single building mass.`Keywords: Le-Corbusier, Islamic Boarding School, Single Building mass.

Abstract

House of cat is a forum for the cat lovers community in Pekanbaru as a rescue activity for stray cats, especially in the city of Pekanbaru. There are three stages in the Pekanbaru House of Cat in saving wild cats, that is rescue, rehab, and rehome. Rescue is the initial stage of saving cats from the street, rehab is a healing stage for a cat after being rescued from the street and rehome is a stage where a cat residing in the house of cat can be adopted and obtained a owner. The facilities provided to support the rescue of stray cats from the streets are in the form of a cat clinic for the first help in rescue, for the rehabilitation or healing stage of the room required in the form of a sterile room for the healing stage and other supporting rooms such as grooming for the cat's external body care. The design method used is the results of the field survey, documentation, and analysis of qualitative and quantitative data. The results of the design take shape from the general things used in rescue activities, namely the cage. The shape of the cage has a similarity to the principle of modern architectural design Mies van der Rohe, namely the presence of vertical and horizontal elements in its design. In addition to the three main functions, there are also supporting functions in the form of cat cafes, cat hotels and pet shops. Abstract

Swimsuit in Indonesia has been known for a long time by the wider community. Kuantan Singingi Regency is a regency that runs along the Kuantan river. In Kuantan Singingi coaching forswimming athletes has been done by the government. This guidance was made due to the absence of a swimming sport facility in Kuantan Singingi with a competition standard. The lack of a standard pool sports venue is the background of the design Aquatic Park. The design of Aquatic Park consider the function of the building to the location in the Sport Center area Kuantan Singingi. This design takes the typology of Rumah Kuantan Singingi Godang which is one of Traditional Houses Kuantan Singingi to display the characteristics of Kuantan Singingi form of architecture of Godang House. The concept used in this design is movement. Abstract

The Batak Toba clan is one of the tribes existed in North Sumatra. The Batak Toba tribe has many of artistic and cultural potential. Thus there are also plenty potential natural resources, traditionalarchitecture that displays local cultural values and wisdom. In today's modern era, many people are ignorant of the history and culture of the Batak Toba, resulting in attention and enthusiasmdecreasing about the history and culture of Batak Toba. Therefore, this research aims to design a cultural center for the development and preservation of the potential of the Batak Toba culture inorder to improve people's knowledge about culture and the history of Batak Toba. The selection of Tobasa Regency as the cultural center location because it has well potential, strategic location,cultural heritage and includes the development of the Toba Caldera Geopark area. The method used in this design is the Neo-Vernacular Architecture approach by applying the principles anddesign ideas that exist in the Bolon house with the addition of modern elements in it. The concept used is the transformation of Adaptation Culture concept, which expected to be able to unitebetween architecture with nature and Batak Toba culture aspects. The final result is the design of the Batak Toba Cultural Center which presented the local wisdom of Batak Toba, especially the themodernization of Ruma Bolon however remain expressed local identity.Keyword: Architecture Neo Vernacular, Batak Toba, Culture, Culture Center

Abstract

Malay people defined house just not as residence, but also as the light of life, hereditary place, anchored place of the kin, past merchants stopover and parents debt to their children. Thisresearch purpose identified characteristic and ornamen decoration traditional home building art Malay in Siak. Research methodology used through field surveys, documentation, and analysis oftraditional malay buildings such as Datuk Zein Pesisir house, Datuk Djalil house, Sharwan Hamid house, Panjang Palace, Paraduan Palace and Kerapatan Tinggi Hall. The results of this researchexplained how application traditional home building art of Siak can be applied to contemporary design by applying characteristic of Malay Siak Building like structure, column, ladder, wall, door,window, roof, and ornament of decoration. Abstract

Indonesia provides many types of services users, but there are still many service workers who still do not have jobs due to lack of experience. One of them is construction services, which is a voice in the construction workforce profile in LPJK (2015), the number of uncertified construction workers in Riau Province reaches 124,158 people. They need a forum for construction workers to be trained and educated by giving them special skills in the not too long time and producing concrete evidence in the form of certification. For this reason, this training center is needed to accommodate workers who still lack the experience to train themselves, and improve work competency with the skills they have chosen. The training center has the concept of regularity with the principles of Ludwig Mies Van Der Rohe who prioritizes the function and simplicity of form. Abstract

The development of a tourist attraction area in the village of Buluhcina is an effort to redevelop the tourism object of the Buluhcina Village. Neo-Vernacular approach was chosen as the theme of this design because Neo-Vernacular is a stream that embraces modernism without theleave of existing traditional elements, this is in accordance with the design concept that prioritizes local culture and still incorporates elements of modernization. Abstract

Riau has a vision as Malay culture center in southest asia 2025 will not materialize without community for conserve and develop Riau Malay culture. One of conserve Riau Malay culture is developing of heritage such as culinary and handicraft. This become a reason to develop foodcourt and handicraft about Riau Malay culture. This place will sell all culinary and handicraft about Riau Malay culture. this place also for a picnic and gathering with friend and family while enjoying playpark. In the design, use tropical architecture like a responsive to solar radiation and rainful, cros ventilation, vegetation and roof forms. characteristic of this place use concept recreation. its like a view, color, nature, movement and activity people. it has five volumes, that is a handicraft fasilities, culinary facilities and main fasilities.
