Abstract

Character education has become increasingly crucial in facing the complexity of challenges in the 21st century. Education serves as one of the fundamental pillars in shaping individual character and personality. Amidst the growing religious and cultural pluralism, values-based education becomes more relevant in cultivating a generation with global awareness and inclusive attitudes. The purpose of this research is to delve into the implementation of Living Values Education (LVE) approach that integrates character values with the principles of religious moderationtn the Madania educational environment. This study uses a type of qualitative research method with a case study approach. The findings indicate that Madania School adopts the Living Values Education (LVE) approach by integrating an understanding of religious moderation to create an inclusive, multicultural learning environment that focuses on character development. This approach engages educators as role models in applying character values and encourages students to internalize these values through various daily activities and interactions.

Abstract

One of the most serious complications of ARI is pneumonia, where this disease causes sufferers to experience pain when breathing and limited oxygen intake. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), pneumonia is classified as a life-threatening disease due to the high mortality rate caused. To be able to diagnose this disease, patients usually undergo various medical examination methods, one of which is through chest radiography. However, the challenge in diagnosing pneumonia generally lies in the complexity and uncertainty in interpreting the results of these methods. Therefore, this study was conducted with the aim of building an image classification model based on the Chest radiography dataset from toddler patients using the ResNet-50 architecture, which is a variant of the Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) algorithm. The combination of the two methods is applied to analyze and process images and obtain pattern recognition with high accuracy. The research methods used include the application of data augmentation, CNN architecture design, model training, and performance evaluation. The evaluation results show that the model has quite good performance with an accuracy of 85%, which indicates the model's ability to classify images with a fairly high level of accuracy, and has the potential to help the pneumonia diagnosis process more efficiently and accurately.

Abstract

Pondok Pesantren Al-Gontory, Malaysia, sebagai lembaga pendidikan Islam, menghadapi tantangan dalam mengintegrasikan nilai-nilai keislaman dengan perkembangan zaman yang semakin modern. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam kepada para santri mengenai sinergitas antara nilai-nilai keislaman dan kemodernan, sehingga mereka dapat lebih terbuka terhadap perubahan zaman tanpa kehilangan jati diri Islam. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah memperkenalkan dan menguatkan pemahaman santri tentang sinergitas antara nilai-nilai keislaman dan kemodernan di Pondok Pesantren Al-Gontory. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah Participatory Action Research (PAR), yang melibatkan partisipasi aktif para santri dalam setiap tahap kegiatan, mulai dari perencanaan hingga evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman santri sebesar 65% berdasarkan pre-test dan post-test, serta tingginya partisipasi dengan 90% santri hadir dan aktif berdiskusi dalam seminar. Para santri juga menunjukkan antusiasme tinggi dalam merumuskan penerapan konsep ini dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kegiatan pengabdian ini diharapkan menjadi langkah awal dalam mengembangkan pemahaman yang lebih luas tentang hubungan antara agama dan kemajuan zaman, serta mendorong implementasinya secara nyata dalam keseharian santri.

Abstract

Urbanization in Bandung, particularly in the Tolerance Village of Andir District, has brought significant changes in the religious practices of individuals migrating from rural areas. Previous studies on religion and urbanization often focus on institutional transformation or interreligious conflict, while limited attention has been given to the micro-dynamics of religious habitus as a sociological concept. This study aims to analyse the dynamics of religious habitus in the process of religious adaptation amidst urban religious pluralism, highlighting the Tolerance Village as a unique case. The research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a sociological approach, using in-depth interviews and observations, and data were analysed thematically. The findings show that the religious habitus of individuals undergoes transformation in response to pluralistic urban life, with the emergence of syncretic practices and adjustments to more open social norms. This adaptation process is shaped by the social and cultural capital of individuals, as well as their interactions with diverse religious communities in the Tolerance Village. The study’s novelty lies in its application of Bourdieu’s concept of habitus to explain religious adaptation in an urban pluralistic setting, thus providing a new analytical perspective for understanding the intersection of religion, migration, and urban diversity in Indonesia.

Abstract

Religion plays a significant role in the social life of humans. Its function is not limited to the individual's spiritual aspects but also encompasses broader social dimensions, including the formation of communal identity, social solidarity, and societal stability. This study aims to explore the dialectics of religion in the urban community of Tolerance Village in Bandung through the perspective of Emil Durkheim's functionalism of religion. The research employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive-critical method. The results indicate that religious practices in Tolerance Village serve not only as a personal expression of an individual's relationship with God but also as a means to build communal identity and strengthen social solidarity. Functionalism of religion, within the context of religious dialectics, fosters harmony and religious teachings interpreted contextually can create inclusive and tolerant religious practices, in accordance with local culture and the needs of urban society. This study's findings are expected to serve as a reference for further research in specific religious phenomena and religious studies in general.

Abstract

As a country with a majority Muslim population, Indonesia has strong foundations in religious teachings guiding daily life. However, social changes, technological advances, and globalization present challenges in ensuring character education remains relevant and adaptive. Islamic education in Indonesia is central to shaping individual character based on religious and ethical teachings. This study examines the potential of the Living Values Education (LVE) approach as an innovative mainstream in developing Islamic education in Indonesia. This research is a literature study, involving an in-depth analysis of relevant literature. The study shows that LVE provides a holistic approach covering ethical, moral, social, and emotional aspects. In the context of Islamic education, LVE can strengthen the understanding of religious teachings and associate them with universal virtues. The relevance of LVE lies in educators building learning dynamics based on positive character values. Thus, LVE becomes an innovative alternative in Islamic education, encouraging the creation of intelligent, moral, and creative generations for the nation's future.

Abstract

This article will explore Asghar Ali Engineer’s ideas on the significance of religious harmony and examine how this concept is manifested through his formulated theology of peace. The research method used in this study is literature review with a philosophical approach using hermeneutic and text analysis techniques through verstehen. The results of this study explain that the theology of peace sees religion as a source of values and spirit that encourage humans to live together in peace and harmony. Asghar Ali Engineer suggests that Muslims prioritize the principles of peace, such as the understanding of Islam, the meaning of jihād, movement, and the application of justice. In addition, according to Asghar Ali’s perspective, Muslims must cultivate values that can realize religious harmony and peace, such as anti-violence, justice, truth, tolerance, love, and compassion.

Abstract

The tafsir (Qur’anic commentary) is one of the essential tools for explaining and deepening the understanding of the teachings of the Qur’an within the community. Besides serving as a religious instrument, tafsir often reflects cultural richness by integrating Islamic aspects with local cultural values. This study aims to explore how the cultural identity of the Sundanese people is reflected in the Tafsir Raudhatul Irfan fi Ma’rifatil Qur’an, written by K.H. Ahmad Sanusi from Sukabumi. The research method used is descriptive-analytical with a qualitative approach. The findings of this study indicate that the cultural identity in the Tafsir Raudhatul Irfan is evident in several aspects of local wisdom, particularly in the field of language. The Sundanese language used in this tafsir is the daily language of the mufassir (commentator). Thus, the writing of this tafsir was primarily intended for the students in Islamic boarding schools and the Sundanese community who understand the language rather than for a broader audience. Furthermore, the cultural identity is also reflected in the writing system, where the mufassir utilizes the Pegon script to convey his tafsir. The Pegon script, which is a writing system that uses Arabic characters for the Sundanese, Javanese, and Madurese languages, is employed in this tafsir as a means to preserve and maintain local literary traditions while still conveying Islamic teachings.

Abstract

Children's growth and development is influenced by several factors, including nutrition and nutrition. Stunting in early childhood will reduce the quality of growth and development as well as children's intelligence, so it is very important for various parties in society and academic circles to take a role in reducing stunting rates in the environment where they live. This community service aims to provide healthy food menus with balanced nutrition as an effort to fulfill nutritional requirements for children under five who suffer from stunting in the Rangkapan Jaya Baru Village environment. The service method used is the Community Based Research (CBR) method which includes four stages, including laying the foundation, planning, collecting and analyzing data (information gathering and analysis) and acting on findings. The results of the service show that providing a healthy, nutritious menu directly for stunted children can be an innovation for Ocan Bananas and parents in providing adequate nutrition for children with an appearance and food preparation that is attractive to young children.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Peran Pendidikan dalam pembangunan nasional terutama dalam menghadapi abad 21 telah diakui sejak lahirnya UUD 1945. Pada alinea keempat UUD 1945 tercantum tujuan memajukan kesejahteraan umum dan mencerdaskan kehidupan bangsa. Abad 21, kehidupan manusia mengalami perubahan, terutama perubahan dalam berpikir. Diperlukan pelopor berpikir, menyusun konsep serta bertindak. Optimalisasi pendidikan harus cepat dilakukan guna mewujudkan generasi bangsa yang cerdas dan tangguh, tidak tertinggal arus global yang meroket. Hal ini menunjukkan sector pendidikan berpengaruh besar pada pembelajaran abad 21. Peningkatan SDM melalui jalur pendidikan mulai dari pendidikan anak usia dini, pendidikan dasar sampai perguruan tinggi. Perubahan globalisasi memerlukan visi misi pendidikan yang terarah. Kemendikbudristek sebagai ledding sector pendidikan nasional memiliki tugas penting mewujudkan SDM melalui kebijakan kurikulum. Tahun 2022 pemerintah merilis “Kurikulum Merdeka” berdasarkan Keputusan Mendikbudristek Nomor 56/M/2022 dan Keputusan Kepala BSKAP Nomor 008/KR/2022 tentang Capaian Pembelajaran pada Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini, Jenjang Pendidikan Dasar, dan Jenjang Pendidikan Menengah pada Kurikulum Merdeka. Konten kurikulum merdeka PAUD “kurikulum operasional satuan pendidikan” terdapat kegiatan intrakurikuler dan profil pelajar Pancasila. Tantangan nyata pengembangan profesional muncul setelah proses implementasi dari kebijakan dimulai. Penting bagi pendidik untuk memiliki pengalaman pendidikan yang berkualitas dan memperoleh banyak teknik instruksional yang inovatif untuk memastikan bahwa kebijakan diimplementasikan ke dalam kelas.
