The research approach is quantitative in nature, in which the authors use SPSS 22 to calculate students' reading speed and the number of correct answers they have answered. Research participants were 20 students of class XI IPA 2 Madrasah Alyah Negeri Palopo. The research instrument was nrtive text, where students read the text quickly and the researcher counted the time using a stopwatch, then students answered questions based on the text. As a result of the study, the authors found that there is a relationship between reading speed and students' reading comprehension where the Pearson correlation value showed 0.000 or lower than 0.05.

Abstract

Building up Students’ Reading Comprehension through Peer Review Strategy using Aunthentic Materials at SMP Negeri 10 Palopo. The objective of this research was to find out the effectiveness of Peer Review Strategy using Aunthentic Materials in teaching reading comprehension at SMP Negeri 10 Palopo. The researcher applied pre-experimental design. The population of this research was the eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 10 Palopo. The total number of population was 247 students. In determining the sample, the researcher used cluster random sampling technique and the researcher took 24 students as sample. The instrument of this research were reading test. The result of the research shows that the use of Peer Review strategy using Authentic materials is effective in teching reading comprehension. It is proven that the mean score of the pre-test is 53.08 and the mean score of the post-test is 70.96. The standard deviation of pre-test is 16.795 and the standard deviation of post-test is 15.730. While t-test = 0,000, (α) = 0.05. It means that t-test is smaller than (α), so there is a significant different between pre-test and post-test of students reading comprehension before and after the researcher gave the treatment. It is showed that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected, while the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. Therefore, it can be conculded that Peer Review Starategy in Authentic Materials is effective in teaching reading comprehension.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of agility and coordination training on optimizing the physical condition of volleyball players. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method with a two group pretest-posttest pre experiment approach. The sample in the study was the entire population, namely 12 Cendrawasih volleyball club players. The average pretest value of group A is 13.67, group B has an average value of 14.33. While the average posttest value of group A is 14.33, group B has an average value of 21.83. Furthermore, based on the results of the IBM SPSS 22 test, the normality test of the pretest and posttest results of group A obtained each Sig value. 0, 415 > 0.05 and Sig. 0,415 > 0,05. The pretest and posttest results of group B obtained a significance value of 0.493 > 0.05 and 0.425 > 0.05, respectively. This means that the research data is normally distributed paired sample test. Pair 1 obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05. Pair 2 obtained a Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.002 < 0.05 Homogeneity test of group A posttest data and group B posttest data 0.605 > 0.05 This means that there is an effect of agility training on physical condition. Independent sample T-Test test obtained Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.843 > 0.05, meaning that there is no difference in the effect of the influence of the physical condition of volleyball players between group A (agility) and group B (coordination).

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of physical condition on volleyball smash skills. This research method uses quantitative methods with descriptive correlational research design. The number of samples used in this study were 14 students at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. The population in this study were all extracurricular students of SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang. The results of statistical analysis of the prerequisite test (normality test) obtained a physical condition value of 0.989 with a significant level of 0.999 or 0.999> 0.05 and a smash skill value of 0.946 with a significant level of 0.498 or 0.498> 0.05, so it can be said that the physical condition value and smash skill value are normally distributed. The results of the linearity test of physical condition data on smash skills with an F value of 2.670 and a significant level of 0.447 are greater than α 0.05, so it is said to be linear. From the results of the regression test data analysis, the F value is 22.324 and the significance value is 0.000. Because the calculated F value (22.324)> (4.725) and the significance value is smaller than 0.05 (0.000 <0.05), then H1 is accepted which indicates that physical condition has a significant influence on students' extracurricular smash skills. It is concluded that physical condition has a significant role in students' volleyball smash skills at SMPN 2 Bua Ponrang.

Abstract

The problem of this research is that the level of endurance of the player's body is still lacking because when playing a game the players look easily tired and unfit, the cause can be due to the intake of vitamins that athletes need. The purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of giving palm sugar and honey to endurance in athletes. Experimental research design with two groups pretest posttest design. The population in this study were 20-25 years old totaling 20 people. Purposive sampling is a non-random sampling method. The instrument for the dose of honey given is 40 ml of honey in 500 ml of water and for the dose of brown sugar is 21 grams of palm sugar in 250 ml of water solution. Data collection in the study was carried out using observation, skill tests, and documentation methods. Data analysis was carried out by parametric statistics using SPSS 22 software. The result 1 obtained a Sig value. (2-tailed) of 0.000 < 0.05, which means that the administration of palm sugar solution is effective on the endurance of Salotellue FC soccer athletes. Based on pair 2, the Sig (2-tailed) value of 0.000 < 0.05 means that giving honey solution is effective on the endurance of Salotellue FC soccer athletes. It is concluded that the administration of palm sugar and honey solutions has an effect on endurance in Salotellue FC athletes.

Abstract

The Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) method is a cooperative learning method used to develop language skills such as reading and writing in the classroom at the high school level. This study used a Quasi-experimental design because it aims to investigate whether the teaching technique has a significant impact on students' reading comprehension. In this study, eleventh grade students of SMA 6 Palopo in the academic year 2023/2024 were selected as the object of research. Students in the experimental group after the treatment were in the good and quite good classification, while the control group was in the quite bad classification. The mean scores of the experimental group and control group in the pre-test and post-test were 74.11 and 64.11, respectively, with standard deviations of 16.885 and 13.833. After treatment with the CIRC method, the mean scores of students in both groups were higher than those in the non-CIRC treatment group. The results showed that the treatment in the control group and the experimental group showed significant improvement in students' reading comprehension achievement. In conclusion, the application of Cooperative Integrative Reading Composition has shown promising results in improving students' English learning, especially in reading narrative texts.

Abstract

This study evaluates the effectiveness of CAKE application in improving the speaking skills of grade II students of SMA Negeri 6 Palopo. CAKE is an artificial intelligence (AI)-based English learning application with a speech recognition feature that provides immediate feedback on the user's pronunciation. The study used a pseudo quantitative experimental method with data collection techniques in the form of pre-test and post-test. The research sample was selected by simple randomization from the student population. The results showed that there was no statistically significant difference between the experimental class using the CAKE app and the control class using conventional methods based on the results of the independent T-test. However, the app still had a positive impact in improving students' speaking skills. Significant improvements were seen in the “Excellent” and “Moderate” categories in the experimental group compared to the control group. The motivational factor of the students also had an effect on the results of this improvement.
