Abstract

Penelitian ini mengevaluasi performa kompresor sentrifugal 24K2 di area Lube Oil Complex 1 di PT. Kilang Kilang Pertamina Internasional Unit IV Cilacap. Kompresor sentrifugal menggunakan gaya sentrifugal untuk meningkatkan tekanan gas, melibatkan perputaran impeler yang mempercepat gas, yang kemudian diarahkan ke diffuser untuk mengubah energi kinetik menjadi energi tekanan. Evaluasi ini mencakup efisiensi isentropik dan kebutuhan daya, membandingkan data operasional dengan data sheet, dan memantau parameter seperti suhu, tekanan, dan laju aliran massa. Pengumpulan data mingguan memastikan deteksi perubahan operasional secara akurat. Perhitungan performa melibatkan kerja aktual, kerja isentropik, efisiensi isentropik, dan daya, dengan nilai entalpi ditentukan menggunakan diagram tekanan-entalpi dan tabel superheated propane R290. Analisis mengungkapkan bahwa daya operasional aktual kompresor 24K2 secara konsisten melebihi data sheet karena peningkatan laju aliran massa, sementara efisiensi isentropik tetap relatif stabil, yang menunjukkan performa yang konsisten. Namun, terdapat hubungan terbalik antara daya dan efisiensi isentropik; ketika daya meningkat, efisiensi menurun. Penelitian ini menyoroti perlunya pemantauan dan optimalisasi yang cermat untuk menjaga pengoperasian kompresor yang efisien dan andal, mendukung proses produksi yang optimal di PT. Kilang Kilang Pertamina Internasional Unit IV Cilacap.

Abstract

Nano hydroxyapatite is one of the biomaterials that has proven to be a very potential material due to its ability to bind directly with bone tissue. Limestone with a calcium carbonate content of 99.87% was used as a calcium source for the economical and sustainable synthesis of hydroxyapatite. The sol-gel method was chosen for the in situ gelatin synthesis process due to its ability to produce nanoparticles with high homogeneity. The particle size of nanohydroxyapatite can increase the surface area to volume ratio thus affecting the interaction with surrounding cells and tissues. Gelatin was added in various concentrations of 10%, 20%, and 30% as an innovative cell growth support modifier. The synthesis was also carried out at pH 9, 10, and 11 to evaluate its effect on hydroxyapatite formation. Optimal synthesis conditions were obtained at 30% gelatin concentration and pH 10, which resulted in the highest yield of 93.95%. Product characterization included Fourier Transform Infra-Red analysis, which showed the presence of typical hydroxyapatite functional groups (PO₄³-, OH-) and carbonate groups (CO₃²-). Scanning Electron Microscopy characterization showed nano-sized particles in the range of 443-578 nm with a granular structure. Porosity was found to be 72.52% making it ideal for cancellous bone tissue engineering applications.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite, with the chemical formula Ca10(PO4)6(OH)2, is a mineral found in human bones and teeth, providing density and strength to bones as it is a major component of the bone matrix. It is widely used in biomedicine for bone implants, dental fillings, and hard tissue replacement. Hydroxyapatite can be produced from materials high in CaCO3, such as cattle bones, seashells, and fish bones. In this research, thorny clam shells (Murex trapa), with a CaCO3 content of 91.08%, were used. Precipitated Calcium Carbonate (PCC) was formed using the carbonation method, while hydroxyapatite synthesis was performed using the precipitation method. Variables during synthesis included Ca/P molar ratios of 1.47, 1.67, and 1.87, and pH levels of 7, 9, and 11. The best result was achieved at a Ca/P molar ratio of 1.67 and pH 9, with a yield of 96%. The hydroxyapatite was analyzed using Fourier Transform Infra-Red, revealing the core groups PO43-, CO32-, and OH-.Scanning Electron Microscopy-Energy Dispersive X-Ray analysis showed the hydroxyapatite had a crystalline structure, tending to be spherical and agglomerated.

Abstract

Training on the use of an integrated animal manure crusher and mixer (KOHE) at CV Tiga Lima Jaya aims to improve the efficiency of animal manure management as an ingredient for making organic fertilizer and employee skills. This training includes basic theory of machine operation, practical demonstrations, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The method of implementing this community service activity includes preparation, implementation, and evaluation or follow-up. The results of the training showed an improvement in employee knowledge and skills, with an increase in theory evaluation scores from 55% to 90% and 88% and employees were able to operate the machine independently. Operational efficiency improved, KOHE processing time from 5 hours to 2 hours per day, and processing capacity increased by 50%. The training also contributed to the SDGs, specifically in clean and affordable energy (SDG 7), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), and industry, innovation and infrastructure (SDG 9). Future recommendations include continuous training, environmental impact measurement, cooperation with educational institutions, implementation of new technologies, and infrastructure improvements.

Abstract

This community service program aims to develop a technology for producing organic soap made from used cooking oil and herbal plants from local community gardens as an innovative by-product for the Kosagrha Lestari Farmers Group in Medokan Ayu, Surabaya. The organic soap is produced using used cooking oil processed through a saponification method, combined with local herbal extracts such as lemongrass and mint leaves, which offer skin health benefits. The activity was carried out in the form of training and mentoring sessions for members of the farmers group, focusing on raw material management, soap-making processes, and product marketing strategies. The results showed that the produced soap had good quality and was safe for use. This program not only successfully reduces environmental pollution by utilizing waste cooking oil but also empowers the farmers group by enhancing their entrepreneurial skills. It opens up new market opportunities, improves economic well-being, and supports environmental sustainability by reducing the use of synthetic chemicals..

Abstract

This study describes the calculation of cold storage analysis for planning the preservation of vannamei shrimp in Pohuwato Regency. The purpose of this paper is to calculate the cooling load on frozen fish cold storage, calculate the performance of the vapor compression cycle including mass flow rate, compressor power, and COP. This study uses a theoretical design method. Cold storage design for product storage. The design data was obtained from field observations. The calculation results showed that the Refrigerant used was Refrigerant 12 (R-12), a vannamei shrimp product. The cycle cooling load is 47.33 kW. Cold storage designed for the process of preserving shrimp with a capacity of 13 tons, Cooling temperature in cold storage is 10° C, Superheated temperature is 5° C, Sub cooled temperature is 5° C, Refrigerant temperature in the condenser is 35° C, Refrigerant temperature in the evaporator is 5° C, the pressure in the condenser is 0.8 MPa, the pressure in the evaporator is 0.4 MPa so that a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.7 is obtained.

Abstract

The organosolv method of delignification uses organic solvents such as ethanol to remove lignin from biomass. The aims of this research to determine mass transfer coefficient in the delignification process of coffee husk. The White rot fungus, Phanerochaete chrysosporium, was used to degrade lignin component in incubation process of coffee husk biomass, then acid hydrolysis process was carried out by using citric acid to degrade the polysaccharides content (cellulose and hemicellulose). The lignin removal process was conducted at temperature of 50°C, an ethanol concentration of 25%, stirring rates (500-700 rpm) and stirring time (30-180 minutes). The effects of mass transfer were evaluated for variation of stirring rates and stirring time. The results of mass transfer coefficient ranged on 0.0550/s and 0.6710/s. This result indicates an increase in stirring time and stirring rate leads to a higher mass transfer coefficient.

Abstract

Argosari Village faces a critical waste management challenge due to the accumulation of biogas slurry (300–500 kg/day), household waste (687 kg/day), and agricultural waste (1,919.7 kg/day). Limited public awareness and waste processing capacity have led to uncontrolled environmental pollution. This community service program introduces the Octane Cycle Concept, a novel and integrative waste utilization model that transforms both organic and inorganic rural waste into valuable products such as compost, fertilizers, fish feed, mushroom media, and handicrafts. The Octane Cycle emphasizes a closed-loop, multi-output processing approach that links food, energy, and local economy in a zero-waste framework. The program was carried out in five phases: preparation, equipment provision, community training, monitoring and evaluation, and reporting. Results show that waste volume in Argosari Village was reduced by 51% within three months. In addition to improving environmental cleanliness, the program fostered entrepreneurship and increased household savings through the production of bio-based products. This model demonstrates the scientific and practical potential of applying circular economy principles at the village level.

Abstract

Hydroxyapatite is the main mineral that makes up bones and teeth so that it has a level of similarity with the mineral parts of bones and can be used as an alternative bone substitute material. As an alternative material for bone substitution, hydroxyapatite has a fairly high economic value and is still dominated by imports from foreign countries. In an effort to reduce the level of imports of hydroxyapatite, research was carried out on green mussel shells as a source of calcium for the synthesis of hydroxyapatite. The synthesis of hydroxyapatite was carried out using the sol-gel method with raw materials for calcium precursors obtained from green mussel shells and varied concentrations of phosphoric acid (0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1 M; 1.5 M; and 2 M). Based on the analysis of the hydroxyapatite product produced using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry analysis, it was found that the ratio of Calcium-Phosphate (Ca/P) for H3PO4 concentrations was 0.1 M, 0.5 M, 1 M; 1.5M; and 2 M respectively by 1.73; 1.70; 1.67; 1.63; and 1.61. In addition, based on the results of the Fourier Transform Infra Red analysis, a random sample also found a Ca-O group; PO43; and OH- which is the main group of Hydroxyapatite and from SEM analysis the crystal morphology is known to be spherical, uneven and agglomerated so that in this study the synthesis of Hydroxyapatite using the sol-gel method was successfully carried out..
