Abstract

The aim is to determine the amount of income received by cayenne pepper farmers in Sukawati Village, the sampling technique in this study uses the purposive method, Analysis of the data used .namely income analysis by determining the cost and revenue . Farming efficiency is sought by the R/C formula. The results of this study indicate that the income of cayenne pepper farming in Sukawati Village is Rp. 31.315.600 per 27 acre land area, per one farming season or Rp 115.983.000/hectares, with an R/C value of 3.288 this indicates that cayenne pepper farming in Sukawati Village is very efficient and profitable. for the local community, so that it plays a very important role in the income of cayenne pepper farming in Sukawati Village. based on the results of the study, it is recommended that cayenne pepper farming in Sukawati Village maintains the results of its farming by developing better cayenne pepper management procedures.

Abstract

Independently waste management is expected to be one real way to solve the garbage problem. Garbage today remains a national problem. This is due to very low public awareness of the litter problem. The starting point of good waste management and the right is originated from households, as household waste is generated every day continuously. Other garbage bins dalah market, which requires merchants keaadaran management. From the analysis of the situation which is intended to provide a picture or map of clues to the location and boundaries of science and technology For Region (IBW) and the description of the existing condition of the area relevant to the issues to be addressed. IBW region located in Tabanan regency which is one of the districts in the province of Bali in addition to seven counties and one city to another, namely Jembrana, Buleleng, Karangasem, Klungkung, Bangli, Gianyar, Badung and Denpasar. Based on the results of hearings with Tabanan District Government through the Regional Development Planning Board (Bappeda), the direction of development of Tabanan is a balance between environmental sustainability efforts functions with efforts to use natural resources in order to achieve prosperity for the people of Tabanan particular. Availability of natural resources are limited and uneven in the district both quantity and quality to encourage the Government in Tabanan Kabuptaen strongly consider the use of natural resources. With waste management as a group is expected to build revenue (income generating) for the community that can indirectly improve the welfare of the community.

Abstract

Cocoa is one of the export commodities from the plantation subsector which is a national superior commodity, Cocoa is one of the export commodities from the plantation subsector which is a national superior commodity. Cocoa development in Indonesia is inseparable from a variety of problems encountered from the upstream to downstream sectors. Some problems in the upstream sector include plant productivity is still low, as well as the presence of pests and diseases. Species diversity can be used to express community structures. Measures of diversity and their causes cover most of the thoughts about ecology. In biodiversity it always includes ecosystems, species diversity and genetics. In biodiversity, the diversity of insect species is included. Insects are a group of dominant organisms in the biosphere in the form of land. In terms of quantity, the existence of insects is vital to maintaining the balance of natural ecosystems. This is mainly because diversity can produce stability and thus relate to cocoa development centers in Tabanan. The purpose of this study is 1). Knowing insect and weed biodiversity in Cocoa plantations in the Old Marga Tabanan Village 2) Mapping the Agroecosystem in Cocoa plantations to support the sustainability of cocoa cultivation in the Old Marga Tabanan village. This research is expected to find the condition of the cocoa plantation biodiversity in developing various biophysical, social and economic aspects in Tabanan Regency. Important contributions can be given, namely: (a) Results of biodiversity studies on cocoa plantations, (b) Increased understanding of cocoa plantation ecosystems and (c) Improving environmental conditions and improving cocoa production.

Abstract

Bio-industrial agriculture is a farming system oriented towards biological and natural resources maximum utilization as sustainable biomass, energy, and mineral. Vegetable and horticulture-based bio-industrial agriculture is a sustainable system consisted of farming, livestock, sewage treatment, agricultural product processing, and marketing sub-systems. The main objective of this study was to analyze the impact of the bio-industrial agricultural model development on the value-added agriculture. This study was conducted on dry land in Antapan Village, Baturiti District, Tabanan, Bali. Questionnaires and interview sessions were applied to collect the study data. Data analysis was done by descriptive analysis, a ratio of R/C, and multiple linear regression analysis. Findings revealed that bio-industrial agriculture contibuted to higher value-added agriculture. Vegetable and horticulture-based bio-industrial agriculture provided alternative system for the development of processed organic agricultural products that finally adds more product's value and increase farmer income.

Abstract

The Teges Subak group and the Subak Putungan group face problems in controlling pests and diseases in rice and secondary crops. In rice plants farmers are very disadvantaged by attacks of pests and diseases that cause rice plants to become puso (empty grains and red stems). The attack of pests and diseases causes rice production to decrease by more than 50%, which is very detrimental to farmers in Subak Teges and Subak Putungan. The main objectives of the program to implement appropriate technology to the community of these farmer groups are (1) To help farmers in integrated pest and disease control technology, (2) Providing productive rice planting techniques, (3) Providing training in the manufacture of locally based plant-based pesticides, (4)Providing techniques for making biological pesticides based on Trichoderma sp, Metharizium sp, and Glyocladium sp, (5) Providing techniques for the application of vegetable and biological pesticides to rice plants, (6) Training farmers in the technique of monitoring pests and diseases in the field. The method used is counseling, training and mentoring. The expected outcome of this community-based application of appropriate technology activities is; 80% of farmers understand and are skilled in making vegetable and biological pesticides, 90% of farmers understand and are skilled in implementing integrated pest and disease control technology and 90% of farmers understand and are skilled in monitoring pests and diseases in the field, farmers are able to produce 50 liters of vegetable pesticides themselves, farmers are able to produce50 kg of their own biological pesticides, attacks of pests and diseases have decreased by 75%.

Abstract

Endek adalah salah satu kain khas hasil karya tangan orang Bali. Coraknya yang unik dan kental dengan nuansa etnik menjadikan endek banyak digunakan oleh berbagai kalangan, bahkan juga digunakan sebagai seragam para pegawai dinas pemerintahan daerah Bali dan juga pegawai swasta seperti pegawai bank, hotel, travel maupun rumah sakit. Beberapa tahun belakangan, endek juga mendapatkan promosi besar-besaran sehingga namanya menjadi kian terangkat bahkan hingga ke tingkat mancanegara. Patra atau motif yang dituangkan dalam kain ikat atau tenun khas Bali, endek, bukan hanya estetika keindahan semata, namun juga mempunyai pesan yang bercerita (story telling) tentang budaya. Akan tetapi dengan semakin berkembangnya era globalisasi dan perdagangan di aras Internasional (MEA) maka produk-produk tradisional mulai kalah bersaing dari sisi harga.  Karena produk luar Bali biasanya memiliki harga yang lebih rendah dibandingkan produk lokal, walaupun dari sisi kualitas produk luar lebih rendah.  Kesenjangan dalam  hal harga inilah merupakan  salah satu kendala dari mitra yaitu Ud. Anugrah dan UD. Artha Dharma.  Berkaitan dengan pemecahan  masalah tersebut maka pelaksanaan program IbPE (Ipteks Bagi Produk Ekspor) pada tahun pertama ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan posisi pasar mitra dengan cara memberikan pembinaan pada proses produksi seperti penataan stasiun kerja, dan penambahan desain agar menghasilkan desain yang lebih beragam sehingga pengrajin mampu menual produk secara bersaing di pasaran.  Pada pembinaan desain telah dilakukan beberapa diversifikasi desain yang sederhana sehingga dalam proses produksi seperti pemilihan benang, bahan dasar,  pewarnaan, dan penenunan lebih sederhana. Hal ini akan berdampak pada biaya produksi yang lebih sedikit, sehingga produk kain endek dapat dijual dengan harga bersaing di pasaran. Selain diversifikasi desain, tim Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar juga telah memberikan pendampingan dalam diversifikasi jenis produk secara fungsional, misalnya seperti pembuatan destar, pakaian seragam dan juga sudah menyasar pada aksesoris seperti clutch (dompet dan sandal).  Pembinaan pada tahun pertama sudah mendorong UKM mitra  mampu bersaing dalam harga dengan produk luar.  Pembinaan pada tahun kedua adalah dengan melakukan teknik pewarnaan metode airbrush.  Dengan metode ini pewarnaan mampu dilakukan lebih cepat sehingga proses produksi akan dipercepat sampai 2-4 hari kerja.  Kata Kunci:  Endek, Desain, Diversifikasi, Patra, Pewarnaan

Abstract

Massive urban development and space utilization will ultimately trigger environmental problems. Issues related to the matter, such as reduced amount of green areas with less-controlled waste management, are important things need to be considered. In order to manage the problem, it is important to find a solution to arise hygiene behavior, as well as preserving green areas.  Providing education for community, starting from early ages, is considered to be a valuable effort. Education can be provided by making a thematic park with 5R (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle, Replace and Replant) principle, which can provide understanding through technology transfer model (TT) method, applying appropriate technology. In the future, the availability of thematic park will serve a novel medium for education training and community.

Abstract

The problem of nutritional status of children in Bali Province in general and especially in Denpasar is still a problem. The presence or absence of child nutrition problems in a region not far from the contribution of the role of Posyandu cadres. The aim of this research is to know the factors related to the empowerment of cadres in the achievement of nutrition status program of children under five years old. Cross sectional analytic research design. Research location in West Denpasar District. The research time is conducted for a month. Samples of head of Posyandu cadres, as many as 83 samples. The research instrument used questionnaires on characteristics, knowledge, training, motivation of posyandu cadres and cadre empowerment strategies. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analysis of chi square test with 95% confidence level at ? = 0.05. Data analysis shows most (63.85%) have enough level of knowledge. Most (90.36%) have already attended nutrition training. The ability of the cadre to motivate most (71.08%) includes enough categories. The result of statistical test showed that there was no correlation between cadres knowledge level (p = 0.853) and training of cadres (p = 0.418) with achievement of nutritional status program of children under five in posyandu, there is relationship of cadre ability motivated with achievement level of nutrition status program at posyandu (p = 0.009). Abstract

The title of this study is a Marketing Strategy of Dadapan Tofu In Pejeng Village, Subdistrict of Tampaksiring. This study aims to identify and analyze internal factors that become the strengths and weaknesses of tofu typical of dadapan in Pejeng village. The strength factor is the pricing of tofu in accordance with the quality to achieve customer satisfaction, the location of strategic dadapan tofu companies, and service from the industry to consumers tofu dadapan. Weakness factors are strategies used not yet maximized, limited promotions, and limited business capital. The opportunity factor is the development of management technology, able to compete with other companies, continuous raw materials are guaranteed. Threat factors are environmental competition, fluctuations in prices and raw materials, competition for quality and quantity of tofu between tofu industries. Marketing strategies know typical of dadapan is in quadrant I, meaning that strategies that can be implemented in quadrant I is growing and building. Startegi alternative that needs to be improved more intensively is strategy SO (Strength Opportunities) Make use of the holiday season, cultural events, and various visits in government agencies by working between industries to meet market demand. The government provides assistance in the procurement of facilities in the sales industry typical of dadapan tofu that is easy to reach consumers, especially in Pejeng Village, Gianyar Regency.

Abstract

This research is about farmer participation in food security program in Subak Pulagan, Tampaksiring Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency. This study aims to find out how farmers participate in food security programs, what factors influence farmer participation in food security programs in Subak Pulagan, Tampaksiring Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency. Determination of respondents in this study using a simple random sampling method (randomly) with the number of respondents 35 people, this study uses the methods: (1) Likert scale Farmer participation in food security programs., (2) using multiple linear regression method to determine the factors - What factors influence the participation of farmers in the food security program in Subak Pulagan, Tampaksiring Village, Tampaksiring District, Gianyar Regency. The results showed that the participation of farmers in the planning, implementation and utilization of food security programs in Pulagan subak was high, while their participation in the evaluation was still in the medium category. Overall, farmers' participation in the food security program in Pulagan subak is high, with an average score of 3.89% on average. Farmers' age and formal education have no significant effect on their participation in food security programs. The number of family members and the area of ​​land cultivated by farmers have a very real influence on their participation in food security programs. The higher the number of family members and the area of ​​land cultivated by farmers, the higher the participation in food security programs
