Abstract

Background: Dental caries is a disease that is most commonly found in the oral cavity along with periodontal disease, which occurs due to demineralization of tooth surface tissue by acids produced by orgnanisms in the mouth that interact with food waste containing sugar. Its development requires a long period of time so that many sufferers are at risk of potentially lifelong disorders. The DMF-T index shows the number and level of tooth decay, which is measured using the sum of untreated cavities or caries (D), the number of teeth that have been extracted and missing teeth (M) and the number of teeth filled (F). The aims of tis study was to analyze the incidence of dental caries among health workers in hospitals. Method: this research uses a quantitative type with a descriptive analytical design using a cross sectional method. This research was carried out in February-March 2024 at Sungai Lilin Hospita, Musi Banyuasin Regency. The population in this study were health workers at Sungai Lilin Hospital in 2024 with a sample of 183 people taken using total sampling technique. Results: Data analysis was carried out univariate and bivariate using the chi-square with α=0,05. The research results showed that the knowledge variable p value = 0,011 with an OR = 2,625, frequency of tooth brushing p value = 0,000 with an OR = 8,067 and tooth brushing technique p value = 0,000 with an OR = 4,454 on the incidence of dental caries in health workers in hospitals. Conclusion: The conclusion of the research was that there was a relationship between knowledge, frequency of tooth brushing technique with the incidence of dental caries among health workers in hospitals.

Abstract

Background: Compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of PPE remains low due to the lack of a safety culture in the workplace. Safety culture is influenced by behavioral, environmental, and personal factors. This study aims to analyze compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among Emergency Department (ER) personnel at Prabumulih City Hospital in 2025. Methods: This study used a cross-sectional design, with a population of 72 respondents and a sample size of 72. The sampling method used was total population sampling. This study was conducted from June 1 to July 1, 2025. Data collection and collection used a questionnaire. Results: Statistical analysis using Chi-Square and logistic regression showed a significant relationship (p-value <0.05) for the variables knowledge (p-value 0.036), attitude (p-value 0.000), length of service (p-value 0.019), training (p-value 0.025), supervision (p-value 0.014), waste management (p-value 0.017), availability of PPE (p-value 0.001), and no relationship with gender (p-value 0.719). Multivariate statistical analysis revealed that the dominant factor influencing PPE compliance was PPE availability (p=0.003; OR=14.213). Conclusion: It is recommended that education programs, supervision programs, and adequate PPE availability be improved to support officer compliance.  Keywords: PPE, Availability, Compliance, Officers

Abstract

Background: There are still several patients at Prabumulih City Hospital who complain about the slow response of officers in providing services, this delay includes long waiting times to get a response to calls, requests for assistance or handling complaints, in addition, communication between officers and patients is often felt to be less effective, patients feel the information provided is unclear, incomplete and lacks empathy, so that patients feel dissatisfied with the services provided. Method: This study uses a Cross Sectional design, where the population in this study was 10118 respondents, with a sample of 100. The sampling method in this study was purposive sampling. This study was conducted on May 22 to June 15, 2025. Data collection and retrieval used a questionnaire. Results: The results of statistical test analysis using Chi-Square statistical test and logistic regression where the results show a significant relationship (p value <0.05) for the variables of age (p value 0.040), reliability (p value 0.000), responsiveness (p value 0.015), assurance (p value 0.000), empathy (p value 0.000), physical evidence (p value 0.000), and there is no relationship between gender (p value 0.558), education (p value 1.000), occupation (p value 0.848). From the results of multivariate statistical tests obtained the dominant factor on patient satisfaction is assurance (p = 0.000; OR = 102.314). Suggestion: It is expected that hospitals need to continue to improve the quality of service by prioritizing a friendly attitude, empathy, and professionalism of all health workers. Fast, responsive, and consistent service is very important to build patient trust.  Keywords: Satisfaction, Service, Inpatient Care
