Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of vegetables waste compost  on  the  growth  of the  rubber seedlings. The experiment  has  been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University Pekanbaru from may to September 2018. The experimental unit was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments: 0, 40, 80, 120,160 and 200 g/seedling and replicated 3 times. Each experimental unit consisted of 3seedlings. Parameters observed were seedling height , increase of stem diameter, number of leaves, length of leaf strands and leaf blade width. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared with Duncan s New Multiple Range Test at level 5 %. The result showed that the dose of vegetables waste compost 200 g/seedling gave a better effect on enhacing the growth of rubber seedling. Keywords :. Abstract

The objective of this research is to study the effect of NAA, BAP and their combinations in MS media on the formation of callus and bud morphogenesis of Sansevieria macrophylla explants. The research has been conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Biotechnology, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, from August 2015 to February 2016. The experiment was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design, consisting of 8 treatments and 3 replications. Each treatment consisted of 4 explants of Sansevieria macrophylla. The treatments were application of NAA, BAP and their combinations in MS media : NAA 1 mg/L, NAA 2 mg/L, BAP 1 mg/L, BAP 2 mg/L, NAA 1 mg/L + BAP 1 mg/L, NAA 1 mg/L + BAP 2 mg/L, NAA 2 mg/L + BAP 1 mg/L, NAA 2 mg/L + BAP 2 mg/L . The parameters observed were : the time of callus appearance, colour of callus, texture of callus, time of shoots appearance and the survival bud rate. The data were analyzed with  analysis of variance and the means of treatment were compared by using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at 5 % level. The data of callus colour and texture were analyzed descriptively and presented in a tabular form. The result showed that the addition of BAP 2 mg/L in MS media gave the earliest time of callus appearance and BAP 1mg/L gave the highest percentage of survival bud rate. The combination of NAA 1 mg/L + BAP 1 mg/L  gave the earliest time of shoots appearance of Sansevieria macrophylla explants in MS media.Keywords:Sansevieria macrophyllaExplants, NAA, BAP and in vitro

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of rice straw compost on the growth of rubber seedling. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau, Pekanbaru from Mei to September 2018. The experimental unit was arranged in a completely randomized design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of the rice straw compost, a.i : 0, 40, 120, 160 and 200 g/seedling. Parameter observed were plant height increment, increase of stem diameter, number of leaves increament, the width of the leaves strands and the long increase in the leaves strands. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis comparent by using Duncan New Multiple Range Test dose of 5 %. The results showed that the plant height increment, increase of stem diameter, number of leaves increament,the width of the leaves strands and the long increase in the leaves strands. The dose of rice straw compost at 200 g/seedling produced the best growth of rubber seedling.Keyword :Hevea brasilliensis Muell Arg., rice straw compost

Abstract

The research aims to determine  the influence of application of solid decanter and tabletNPK and get a combination is best for plant growth palm oil that comes from twin sprouts in Two-year-old Immature Oil Palm. Research has been carried out at the Experimental Farm Faculty of Agrotechnology, University of Riau, Rimbo, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Research was conducted from December 2017 until March 2018.The research was carried out experimentally using Compeletely Randomize Block Design (RAK) consisting of 5 treatments: P0 (without fertilizers), P1 (Solid decanter 1.430 t. ha-¹ + NPK 8 tablets per plant), P2 (Solid decanter 1.430 t. ha-¹ + NPK 10 tablets per plant), P3 (Solid decanter 2.145 t. ha-¹ + NPK 8 tablets per plant), P4 (Solid decanter 2.145 t. ha-¹ + NPK 10 tablets per plant). The observed parameters were a plant height, number of leaves, petiolelength and stems circumference. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the analysis of variance  and Duncan at the 5 % level.The results showed that the application of various dosages of NPK fertilizer with solid decanter tablet gives added influence on plant height, stem length, number of leaves, petiolelength and the circumference of the stem of the plant oil palm seedling origin in twins TBM II. Application of 2.145 t. ha-1 solid decanter with 10 tablets ofNPK gave the best combination of all of the parameters.Keywords: Palm Oil, Twin sprouts, Solid decanter, Tablets NPK.

Abstract

   1This research aims to determine the best combination of NPK fertilizer with tilapia waste liquid organic fertilizer to the growth of oil palm seeds. This research was conducted at UPT. Experimental Garden, Agriculture Faculty, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The research was conducted from May to September 2019. This research was conducted using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments used were NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant (control), NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25%, NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 50%, NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 75%, NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25%, NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 50% and NPK fertilizer 2.50 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 75%. Parameters observed were seedling height, number of seed leaves, seed bulb diameter, seedling leaf area, seedling root volume, seedling root shoot ratio and seed dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance and continued with the Duncan's New Multiple Range Test(DNMRT) at the 5% level. The results showed that the combination of NPK fertilizer treatment with tilapia waste LOF affected the parameters of seed height, number of leaves, bulb diameter, leaf area, root volume, root shoot ratio and seed dry weight. The combination of NPK fertilizer 1.25 g per plant + LOF tilapia waste 25% is the best treatment to increase the growth of oil palm seedlings. Keywords: Oil palmseeds, NPK fertilizer, tilapia waste liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of giving corn plant waste compost and get the best dose to the growth of cocoa seedling. This research has been conducted in the experimental garden of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau from April until July 2018. The research was conducted experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with six treatments and four replications. Treatments has given consist of corn plant waste compost with dose of 0 g, 25 g, 50 g, 75 g, 100 g and 125 g per 5 kg soil. Parameter observed were increasing of seedling height, stem circumference, number of leaves, leaf blade length, leaf blade width, crown dry weight, root dry weight and ratio of canopy and root. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5 %. Giving corn plant waste compost with dose 125 g per 5 kg soil is the better choice to improve the increasing of seedling height, stem circumference, number of leaves, leaf blade length, leaf blade width, crown dry weight, root dry weight and ratio of canopy and root. Keywords: Growth, cocoa seedlings and corn plant waste compost

Abstract

This research was conducted from July 2016 through October 2016 on the Urban Forests of Pekanbaru, Riau, Indonesia. The goals of this research are to analyze the area of urban forests required based on its ability and capacity for CO2 absorption and the need and capacity to provide O2 and water for its inhabitants in the city of Pekanbaru. The results of this research conclude that Urban Forest area required by the 2016 all area of the city of Pekanbaru based on the Urban Forest’s ability to absorb CO2 is 3,246 Ha, the Urban Forest area needed for O2 is 3,376 Ha and Urban Forest area needed for water is 7,360 Ha. The best approach in calculating the need for Urban Forests is based on water need.

Abstract

Work as a palm oil mill worker is a job at risk of exposure to noise that exceeds the threshold value. The purpose of this study was to measure the intensity of noise on the occurrence of hearing complaints, psychological disturbances and Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL) on workers and analyze the relationship of worker characteristics; age, length of service, use of Ear Protective Equipment (EPE) and knowledge of hearing complaints, psychological disorders and NIHL disorders. The research approach used in this research is survey method using cross sectional analytic research design with sampling using purposive sampling technique as many as 40 workers. Data were collected by measuring noise intensity, questionnaires and audiometry inspection. Data analysis using univariate and bivariate analyzes were processed using Spearman test. The result of the research shows that there is a considerable noise hazard in the work environment of PT. GBI, while the potential impact experienced by workers due to noise in low risk levels. The relation between factory noise intensity and worker characteristic; age, working period, knowledge and compliance of EPE usage in general have no significant relation to the incidence of hearing complaints, psychological disorders and NIHL disorders in workers, except in the variable level of knowledge with psychological disorders have a significant relationship.

Abstract

The last 5 years, palm oil plantation in Pakning Asal, Bengkalis were burned in different frequencies. There were unburned soil and burned soil in several times (2-3 times). Land fires affect the physical chemistry of the soil including macro and micro nutrients in soil as well as surrounding plant growth. One of them is kalakai usually made by vegetables in community. The purpose of this study were to analyze the composition of Co and Ni on roots, stems and leaves of kalakai on peat soil unburned soil and burned soil in several times and determine the content of Co and Ni metal in suitable and safe plants for consumption by the community based on the Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI). Co and Ni analysis was carried out using the Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer (AAS).The results of the analysis Co content in plants increases on peat unburned soil and Ni content increases on burned peat soil. Based on Acceptable Daily Intake (ADI) on kalakai that grow on unburned peat soil and burned several times 81,76 µg/kg BB/hari dan 57,97 µg/kg BB/hari for Co and 112,56 µg/kg BB/hari dan 119,763 µg/kg BB/hari for Ni. Based on ANOVA test performed with p kurang dari 0.05 can be concluded that there is a significant difference in roots, stems and leaves growing on peat soil unburned and burned several times.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of community characteristics (age, education and income) and perceptions to the public participation in mangrove forest conservation, with research sites in two villages in the district of Bantan Bengkalis. Collecting data using a survey method with questionnaires and sampling was done by random sampling where the population 2494 people, which is used as the sample is taken as 97 respondents. The method of analysis used in this research is statistical descriptive and path analysis. And based on the results of statistical analysis has been done, obtained some results as follows: that of the community characteristics variable (age, education and income) only educational variables that have a significant direct effect on the public participation variable and also found that the perception variables have a significant directl effect on the public participation variable. Furthermore, the results also found that the public participation variables have a significant directl effect on the mangrove forest conservation variables.
