Abstract

Sansevieria is potentially as ornamental plants, anti pollutants and medicinal plants which requires development through effort propogation. The aim of the research was to find out the effect of NAA and BA and the combination both of them for the success and bud growth on cutting Sansevieria. The research by giving NAA and BA was conducted at Green House of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau, started from September 2013 to March 2014. This research used completely randomized design (CRD) which consisting of 5 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment were: A = without hormone, B = NAA 1 mg/l, C = BA 1 mg/l, D = NAA    1 mg/l + BA 1 mg/l and D = NAA 0,5 mg/l + BA 0,5 mg/l. Parameters observed were the survival percentage, percentage of root cuttings, number of roots, root length, root volume, percentage of bud growth, number of buds, bud length, number of leaf buds and number of bud roots. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and further tested by using Duncan’s new multiple range test level 5%. The result showed that the growth of cutting Sansevieria not affected by NAA and BA either as singular or the combination. The growth of cutting Sansevieria affected by physiology and endogen hormone.   Keywords: Sansevieria, cutting, plant growth hormone, growth

Abstract

This research aims to determine the effect of giving brangkasan compost corn plant and get the best dose to the growth of rubber seeds. This research has been conducted in the Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty University of Riau from April until August 2018. The research was conducted experimentally by using Completely Randomized Design (CRD), with six treatments and three replications. Treatments  has given consist of brangkasan compost plant corn with dose of 0 g, 40 g, 80 g, 120 g, 160 g and 200 g per 8 kg soil. Parameter observed were increasing of heigh seeds, increasing stem cicumfrence, increasing number of leaves, length of the longest leaves, and width of the most wide leaves. The data obtained were analyzed  statistically using analysis of  variance with Duncan New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5%. Giving brangkasan compost corn plant with dose 200 g per 8 kg soil is the better choice to improve the increasing of heigh seeds, increasing stem cicumfrence, increasing number of leaves, length of the longest leaves, and width of the most wide leaves. Keywords :Hevea brasiliensis, brangkasan compost corn plant

Abstract

The perpose of this research is to find the effect of cocoa leaf compost on the growth of cocoa seedlings and get dosage the best cocoa leaf compost for cocoa seedling growth (Theobroma cacao L.). This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau, Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 4 months starting from October to February 2018. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (RAL).Consisting of 6 treatments: K0 (without compost), K1 (50 g), K2 (100 g), K3 (150 g), K4 (200 g), and K5 (250 g) cocoa leaf litter compost. Parameter observed are high seedling,stem diameter,number of leaf,canopy dry weight,root dry weight and root canopy ratio.The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level.the results showed that the giving of cocoa leaf litter gave a real effect on the growth of heigh seedling, stem diameter, number of leaf, however give out influence is not real to canopy dry weight androot dry weight. Provision of 150-250 g/polybag cocoa leaf compostpolybags show the highest average of each observation parameter and provide the best growth. Keywords: cocoa, compost, cocoa leaf

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of rubber leaf litter compost on the growth of the rubber seedlings. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University Pekanbaru from may to September 2018. The experimental unit was arranged in a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments: 0, 50, 100, 150, 200 and 250 g/seedling and replicated 3 times. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 seedlings. Parameters observed were seedling height,increase of stem diameter, number of leaves,length of leaf strands and leaf blade width. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared with Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at level 5 %. The result showed that the dose of rubber leaf litter compost at 250 g/seedling gave a better effect on enhacing the growth of rubber seedling. Keywords :Hevea brasiliensis, rubber leaf litter compost.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to determine the effect of oil palm solid waste and to get the best dose to increase the growth of cocoa seedlings. This research was conducted in the Experimental Garden of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau in July to October 2018. This study used completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of 7 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment consisted of a solid dose of palm oil 0 g.10 kg-1 medium, 25 g.10 kg-1 medium, 50 g.10 kg-1 medium, 75 g.10 kg-1 medium, 100 g.10 kg-1 medium, 125 g.10 kg-1 medium and 150 g.10 kg-1 medium. The parameters observed were seedling height, seedling stem diameter, number of seedling leaves, seedling leaf area, seedling root volume, shoot and root ratio and seedling dry weight. The data obtained were analyzed using variance analysis and continued with Duncan's Multiple Range Test (DMNRT) at 5 % level. The results showed that the application of solid oil palm did not significantly affect the parameters of seedling height, seedling stem diameter, number of seedling leaves, seedling leaf area and volume of seedling roots and had a significant effect on the dry weight parameters of seedlings and giving of 75 g of solid palm oil/10kg medium is better to increase the growth of cocoa seedlings aged 4 months. Keywords: Growth, cocoa seedlings and palm oil solid waste

Abstract

Recently, there has been a phenomenon of changing the packaging from banana leaves to clear plastic, including for cake wrappers. The use of leaves as a wrapper does not produce waste and the food that is wrapped is not exposed to chemicals. Therefore, it is necessary to socialize the dangers of plastic wrapping for human health. The purpose of this service activity is to increase public understanding and knowledge about the use of plastics and dyes in food, to re-promote the manufacture and consumption of tambul or traditional, environmentally friendly snacks.This service is carried out by using (1) the method used to convey the main points of material relating to plastic wrapping and its dangers to health, leaf wrapping and its benefits for health. (2) practice, making: pulut kucung, lopek luwo and guwajik. The target groups for this service are village officials, mothers and adolescents in Kampung Baru Sentajo, which connects 30 people. The result of this service is to increase public knowledge about the dangers of using plastics and dyes in food. In addition, the local community will reactivate the tambul wrapping using banana leaves. The packaging is an environmentally friendly material, so the food consumed is healthy food and is the local wisdom of the Kuantan Singingi people.

Abstract

Heavy metals in soil are relatively easy to be degraded by using plants. Certain plants have a high potency to bioaccumulate heavy metals and to be hyperaccumulator by translocating the high concentrated metals from soil into plant tissues without  causing a negative effect to the plants. One of the potential plants is a flat leave Sansevieria, which is relative easy and fast to grow.The research was conducted to evaluate the potency of five flat leave Sanseviera: S. indica “Tiger Blue”, S. trifasciata “Lorentii”, S. aubrytiana “Tiger Strip”, S. kirkii “Coopertone” and S. hybrid “Blue Boy” as the treatment, and was replicated three times. Each replicate consisted of five plants, which were pre-selected from 100 grown plants. Heavy metals (Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn) in the growing media (soil) and plant tissues were analyzed by using Atomic Absorbtion Spectophotometric (AAS). The results indicated that : 1). Pb, Cd, Cu and Zn concentration in growing media (soils) were in a normal range, 2). S. indica “Tiger Blue” had the highest bioaccumulation potency to Cu and high potency to Cd, Zn and Pb. S. trifasciata “Laurentii” had the highest bioaccumulation potency to Cu and high potency to Cd and Pb, 3). S. indica “Tiger Blue” had the highest hyperaccumulator  potency to Cu and high potency to Cd. S. trifasciata “Laurentii” had the highest hyperaccumulator potency to Cu and high potency to Pb.

Abstract

Eco-Forest green open space (GOS) development is one of the ways to achieve sustainable urban development in Pangkalan Kerinci City. The information of structure and composition of the natural tree species growing in the green open space was required as a basis to formulating future rehabilitation strategy. This study aims to analysed the diversity and composition of tree species at the development area of Eco-Forest GOS. The data used in this study was primary data of tree species, dbh, frequency and density. Data collected by field observation using a systematic sampling method. Data analysis was carried out by estimate the diversity parameters including diversity index, richness, and evenness. Species composition assessed by important value index. Spatial interpolation of the diversity index and tree density was carried out by spline interpolation method using ArcGIS 10.7 software. The analysis result shows that the diversity of natural tree species was decreases by increasing the live cycle of tree. There are three dominant species in this location, which Ilexcymosa, Litsea firma, and Stemonurus secundiflorus. Spatial analysis shows that 51.5% of the green space area classified into low diversity and density category, while 13.2% was classified as high diversity and density class. Efforts to achieved the successful of GOS management by use the information of vegetation’s structure and composition as one of the inputs to develop the regeneration and rehabilitation system. At the same time, it is necessary to increases the dimensions of human, institutional and financial management that supports biodiversity conservation in the green open space

Abstract

Tanaman sagu  adalah jenis tanaman palma yang tumbuh pada lahan yang tergenang air di daerah tropis. Penelitian ini dimaksudkan untuk mengetahuI pengaruh dan mendapatkan perlakuan paling baik dari Kinetin, NAA serta kombinasi Kinetin dan NAA terhadap morfogenesis tunas eksplan meristem apikal sagu duri in-vitro. PenelItian dilakukan di Laboraturium Biotekno1ogi Tanaaman Jurusan  Agrotekno1ogi Faku1tas PertanIan, UnIversitas RIau, pada bulan Februari sampai Agustus 2020. Pene1itian menggunaakan Lancangan acak 1engkap (RAL yang terd1ri darii 8 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan sehingga didapat 24 unIt percobaaan. Parameeter yang d!amati ada1ah saat muncu1 tunas, jum1ah tunas, t!nggi tunas dan persentasee keberhasilan tumbuh. Analisis data menggunakan analisis varian d!lanjut dengan DNMRT taraf 5%.).  Has!l pene1itian menunjukan per1akuan dengan penambahaan kinetin 1 mg.l-1 1ebih ba!k terrhadap parameter pengamatan awal muncul tunas dengan rata-rata 79,17 HST, jum1ah tunas dengan rata-rata 1,33 tunas, tinggi tanaman dengan rata-rata 12,63 mm. Pemberian NAA 1 mg.l-1  cenderung 1ebih ba!k terhadap persentase keberhasi1an tumbuh tunas eksp1an meristem apika1 sagu Duri secara in-vitro dengan rata-rata 66,67 % .

Abstract

The aims of these research are ; 1) to analyze the economic value of Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim, consist of : log value, carbon value and reducing soil erosion value. 2) to analyze some alternatives policies to meet the sustainable management of Tahura Sultan Syarif Hasyim, Pekanbaru. The research was held on Taman Hutan Raya Sultan Syarif Hasyim, Pekanbaru from August to November 2014. The methode of research is survey and the analysist methode is descriptive kuantitative analysist. The primary data are collected with line plot sampling and soil sampling. The results show that the economic value of 2,412 ha (the remaining Tahura area covered by forest) are: log value IDR 2,434,799,820.00 year-1, carbon value IDR 18,718,898,525.19 year-1 consist: carbon sink value IDR 5,919,446,552.45 year-1 and carbon saturation value IDR 12,799,451,972.74 year-1. The reducing erosion value IDR 83,349,849,057.00 year-1. To optimalize the economic value, the policies are: 1) To restore the Tahura area directly into conservation forest with forest cover. 2) To restore the Tahura area gradually into conservation forest with forest cover and 3) To restore Tahura by collaborating management.
