Abstract

This research was conducted from April to October 2015 and located in a new landfill in the District of Rumbai Pekanbaru. The purpose of this study is to analyze the parameters of the landfill site selection based on SNI 03-3241-1994 and feasibility (in the environmental, social, and economic) in District of Rumbai as substitute final waste processing site Muara Fajar. This type of research is descriptive and comparative survey method. Data needs, including primary data obtained through filling the questionnaire by respondents and secondary data. The amount of sample is 19 respondents who were around the new landfill. Data processing is divided into processing of quantitative and qualitative data were processed using descriptive method. The data analysis technique used in this research is the analysis of quantitative and qualitative with the analysis method of scoring. Tassel feasibility of a new landfill site as substitute final waste processing site Muara Fajar, based on the criteria of SNI and the results of a critical analysis of SK SNI is feasible

Abstract

The research aims to study the effect and to obtain the best dose of rice straw compost on the growth of the cocoa seedling. The experiment has been conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. from July to October 2016. The experimental unit was arranged in a completely randomized design (RAL), consisting of 6 treatments: 0, 25, 50, 75, 100 and 125 g/seedling and replicated 3 times. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 seedlings. Parameters observed were seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, the ratio of the canopy and root and dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance and the mean of each treatment was compared by using Duncan’s New Multiple Range Test at level of 5%. The results showed that the dose of  rice straw compost could improve the seedling height, stem diameter, number of leaves, leaf area, root volume, ratio of the canopy and root and dry weight. The dose of rice straw compost at 125 g/polybag produced the best growth of cocoa seedling. Keywords: cocoa seedling, rice straw compost dose

Abstract

Sagu Duri merupakan jenis sagu yang paling luas penyebarannya di Kabupaten Kepulauan Meranti dan memiliki produksi pati yang tinggi. Perbanyakan tanaman sagu terkendala pada ketersediaan bibit sagu yang seragam dalam jumlah yang banyak. Hal ini dapat diatasi salah satunya dengan perbanyakan kultur jaringan melalui tenik kultur meristem apikal. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pemberian BAP, NAA serta kombinasi BAP dan NAA pada media MS dan mendapatkan perlakuan terbaik terhadap morfogenesis tunas eksplan meristem apikal sagu Duri in-vitro. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL). Parameter pengamatan meliputi saat muncul tunas, jumlah tunas, tinggi tunas dan persentase keberhasilan tumbuh. Analisis data menggunakan ANOVA dan diuji lanjut menggunakan DNMRT taraf 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian BAP 2 mg.l-1 +  NAA 2 mg.l-1lebih cepat terhadap saat muncul tunas yaitu 60,17 HST, pemberian BAP 1 mg.l-1 menghasilkan jumlah tunas cenderung lebih banyak yaitu 1,83 tunas, pemberian BAP 1 mg.l-1, BAP 2 mg.l-1 dan NAA 2 mg.l-1 menunjukkan respon yang baik terhadap tinggi tunas yaitu  11,83 mm, dan persentase keberhasilan tumbuh cenderung lebih tinggi pada pemberian NAA 1 mg.l-1 dan BAP 1 mg.l-1 + NAA 1 mg.l-1 yaitu 66,67%.

Abstract

Land fires are occurred almost every year during the dry season in Pangkalan Kerinci District. These condition resulted in damage and loss in terms of economic, social and environment that will inhibit the rate of development in Pangkalan Kerinci District so that necessary control measures against land and forest fires. The research method used was a case study, the samples for this study were selected through purposive sampling method were the data for this study were obtained through questioner, interview and observation. The results of this study that there are influence between the incidence of land fires with the level of air quality and the level of public health that occurs in Pangkalan Kerinci District, the formulation of a mitigation strategy for preventing land fires in Pangkalan Kerinci District in quadrant 1, which means that the land fire mitigation strategy must carry out a progressive strategy by utilizing internal; strengths to take advantage of external opportunities to achieve the optimal strategy.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to examine the best composition of the planting media using the landfill soil (TPA-S) for the growth of Sansevieria species S. aubrytiana 'Tiger' and S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'. This research was conducted at the greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau. This research was carried out experimentally by using a Completely Randomized Design (factorial) consisting of two factors. The first was plant type (S) and then planting media (M), consisting of 6 treatments and 3 replications, so that 18 research units were obtained. The treatments consisted of M1S1 (100% landfill soil, type S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'), M2S1 (70% landfill soil + 30% TKKS compost, type S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'), M3S1 (70% landfill soil + 30 % husk charcoal, type S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'), M1S2 (100% landfill soil, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'), M2S2 (70% landfill soil + 30% TKKS compost, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii') and M3S2 (70% landfill soil + 30% husk charcoal, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'). The data obtained were then further tested by Duncan's multiple range test (DNMRT) at the 5% of confidant level. The results showed that the landfill could be an alternative substitute for top-soil as a planting medium for ornamental plants, especially for two types of Sansevieria plants. The combinations planting media 70% soil of landfill + 30% TKKS compost could increase plant height, leaf width, and the number of plant leaves in both types of Sansevieria plants. Whereas the combination of 70% soil of landfill + 30% husk charcoal could increase the number of tillers, fresh weight of plants, and root volume in both types of Sansevieria plants. Abstract

This study aims to examine the best composition of planting media using PETI (unlicensed gold mining) which is best for the growth of Sansevieria aubritiana 'Tiger' and Sansevieria trifasciata 'Laurentii'. This research was conducted at the greenhouse of the Faculty of the Agriculture University of Riau. The research was carried out experimentally by using a Completely Randomized Design (Factorial) consisting of two factors, the first was plant type (S) and then planting media (M), which consisted of 6 treatments and 3 replications. So that 18 research units were obtained. The treatments consisted of M1S1 (Coffin land + TKKS compost 1:1, type S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'), M2S1 (Coffin land + husk charcoal 1:1, type S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'), M3S1 (Coffin land + TKKS compost + husk charcoal 1:1:1, type S. 'Tiger'), M1S2 (Coffin land + TKKS compost 1:1, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'), M2S2 (Coffin land + husk charcoal 1:1, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii') and M3S2 (Coffin land + TKKS compost + husk charcoal 1:1:1, type S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'). The data obtained were then further tested by Duncan's multiple range test at 5 %. The results of the study concluded that the combination of planting media of Coffin land + husk charcoal 1:1 was to be able to increase height, the number of leaves, leaf length, root volume, and the number of tillers in S. aubrytiana 'Tiger'. The use of a combination of planting media of Coffin land + TKKS compost 1:1 was able to increase height, the number of leaves, leaf length, and leaf width on S. trifasciata 'Laurentii'.

Abstract

Perbanyakan tanaman Sansevieria downsii secara kultur in-vitro dapat menghasilkan banyak tanaman unggul dalam waktu yang relatif singkat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh posisi daun, kombinasi BAP dengan NAA dan kombinasi kedua faktor pada perkembangan eksplan S. downsii serta mencari kombinasi perlakuan yang terbaik untuk perkembangan eksplan S. downsii. Penelitian dilaksanakan secara eksperimen yang terdiri dari 2 faktor dengan 16 kombinasi perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Faktor I adalah posisi daun asal eksplan yang terdiri dari 2 taraf, yaitu E1 (daun ke-2 dari pucuk) dan E2 (daun ke-4 dari pucuk). Faktor II adalah kombinasi BAP dengan NAA, yaitu Z1 (BAP 1 mg.l-1 + NAA 0 mg.l-1), Z2 (BAP 0 mg.l-1 + NAA 1 mg.l-1), Z3 (BAP 2 mg.l-1+ NAA 0 mg.l-1), Z4 (BAP 0 mg.l-1 + NAA 2 mg.l-1), Z5 (BAP 1 mg.l-1 + NAA 1 mg.l-1), Z6 (BAP 1 mg.l-1 + NAA 2 mg.l-1), Z7 (BAP 2 mg.l-1 + NAA 1 mg.l-1) dan Z8 (BAP 2 mg.l-1 + NAA 2 mg.l-1.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor BAP dengan NAA dan kombinasinya dengan faktor posisi daun asal eksplan berpengaruh terhadap perkembangan eksplan S. downsii. Perkembangan eksplan terbaik dihasilkan oleh kombinasi eksplan yang berasal dari daun ke-4 dengan pemberian BAP 2 mg.l-1 + NAA 1 mg.l-1.

Abstract

Sansevieria is an ornamental succulent leaf plant of the family Agavaceae, having a beautiful and diverse shape and color. Propagation of Sansevieria can be done by tissue culture method with the addition of cytokinins and auxins to MS media.  The study used a complete randomized design consisting of 8 treatments, 3 tests, there were 24 experimental units. The observed parameters are when the callus appears, the color of the callus, the texture of the callus, the weight of the callus, the diameter of the callus, and the percentage of success in growing. Data analysis used variance analysis and tested using 5% DNMRT. The data is processed using a Statistical Analysis System (SAS).  The results showed that the application of NAA, BAP, and the combination of NAA and BAP affected the per-plant explant of  Sansevieria ehrenbergii leaves on all observation parameters.  The treatment of NAA 2 mg.l-1 + BAP 1 mg.l-1 gave effect tending to be faster when callus appeared with an average of  75.75 HST, NAA 1 mg.l-1 + BAP 2 mg.l-1 m.   and tends to be larger in callus diameter with an average of 0.9033 g and 19.133 mm and NAA 1 mg.l-1 + BAP 1 mg.l-1 gives a higher influence on the percentage of callus growth by an average of 100 %.

Abstract

Budidaya ikan baung semakin berkembang, karena rasa ikan baung yang gurih, lezat dan memiliki protein yang tinggi. Namun, dalam kegiatan budidaya ikan baung terdapat permasalahan pada telur ikan baung yang bersifat adhesive. Sehingga, menyebabkan telur menempel satu dengan yang lain dan menurunkan nilai penetasan. Metode budidaya ikan baung untuk meningkatkan penetasan telur ikan dapat dilakukan dengan perendaman telur ikan baung pada tumbuhan alami. Tumbuhan alami dipilih karena ramah lingkungan, mudah didapat, harga murah, dan memiliki kandungan zat yang sangat bermanfaat. Perendaman telur dengan tumbuhan alami akan menghilangkan daya rekat ikan baung, dan menghasilkan penetasan telur yang lebih banyak. Teknologi ini menghasilkan kelulushidupan larva ikan baung dengan pengamatan sampai larva berumur 14 hari lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelulushidupan larva dari telur tanpa perendaman tumbuhan alami.

Abstract

The purpose of the community service activities carried out is to provide knowledge about the application of technology using natural plants to eliminate the adhesion of Asian Redtail Catfish eggs to the Sawah Mandiri Fisheries Group, Sawah Village, North Kampar District, Kampar Regency. The methods used in this community service activity is the lecture, discussion and practice/demonstration in the field. The lecture method was carried out in the meeting room of the head of the Sawah Mandiri Fisheries Group, Sawah Village, North Kampar District, Kampar Regency by providing material on the technology of using natural plants. The practical method was carried out by direct demonstration in the field about all the material that had been given previously. The results of the evaluation of changes in knowledge carried out on 15 participants in the activity shown that 11 people (73.33%) were able to absorb the material provided with a very good predicate, 3 people (20%) were able to absorb the material provided with a good predicate, 1 person (6.67%) was able to absorb the material with a sufficient predicate while those who obtained a very poor predicate and a poor predicate were not found. The results of the skills evaluation show that members of the Sawah Mandiri Fisheries Group have been able to practice directly the activities that have been given in the field about the technology. While the results of the impact evaluation show that members of the Sawah Mandiri Fisheries Group enthusiastic started to used this technology in fish hatcheries.
