Abstract

Crop respotwes to drought stress depend on their gerctypes.The purpose of this research was to study the effect of drought stress the growth chqracters of soybean.research was conducted in the Cikabayan greenhouse-IPB using three genotypes of soybean (Slamet, Tanggamus and Wilis) and PEG (0%, 20%). The drought stress was applied only at a vegetative phose. The result showed that the interaction between genotype and PEG, significant. effect on root-shoot length ratio. Drought stress vtith PEG ;imulation causedthe changes in the growth characters of soybean i.e. on shoot length, root-lenght, root-shoot length ratio, leaf dry weight and root dry weight.

Abstract

Pathogen attacks often occur on oil palm plants, particularly on the central nursery. Factors that affect the attack are plant and environmental factors. This study aims to determine the location of planting (temperature and humidity) and the administration of KCL fertilizer on the invasion of fungal pathogens on oil palm plants (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) In nurseries (Main - nursery). This research was carried out on Jalan Jendral Sudirman Km. 9, Pasir Putih Village, Baamang District, East Kotawaringin Regency, Sampit. The testing of palm oil seedling samples was carried out at the Plant Quarantine Laboratory, Palangka Raya Class II Agricultural Quarantine Center. The design of this study was Split Plots Design. The planting location factors were considered to be more influential, so they are placed as main plots with three levels, namely the location of the greenhouse, open space and using 80% paranet and KCL fertilizer as a subplot with two levels. Each plot was compiled with RAL with four replications. The results of the study obtained both planting systems, environmental factors in the form of temperature and humidity, as well as giving KCl fertilizer as a whole have a significant effect on the growth of fungal pathogens on oil palm plants. In cultivating oil palm plants, it is recommended to use the planting system in open land by providing KCl fertilizer.

Abstract

Water hyacinth, giant salvinia and water lettuce are widely available in Central Kalimantan that can be used as organic fertilizer. This study aims to determine the nutrient content of solid and liquid organic fertilizers in water hyacinth, giant salvinia and water lettuce fertilizers. The results showed that solid organic fertilizer/compost and water hyacinth, water lettuce and giant salvinia liquid fertilizer have nutrient content needed by plants. In solid fertilizers, the Nitrogen of giant salviniacontent was 2.43% and lack of the minimum standard of solid organic fertilizer, while Phospor and Potassium content were not included in the standard. In liquid organic fertilizer, Nitrogen, Phospor and Potassium content were not included in the minimum standard organic fertilizer requirements

Abstract

This research aims to know the effect interaction of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, effect of application of types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production and fruit quality of melons on peatlands, and the agronomic efficiency of the use of several types and different dosage of organic fertilizers on production of melons on peatlands. This research design was used as a Randomized Block Design (RBD) consists of two factors with 4 replication. The first factor consisted of types of organic fertilizer (P) i.e. chicken manure (PA), guano manure (PG), and cow manure (PS). The second factor consisted of fertilizer dosage (D) i.e. 0 tons ha-1 (without fertilization, called control), D1 = 15 tons ha-1, D2 = 30 tons ha-1 and D3 = 45 tons ha-1. The data obtained by analysis of variance (ANOVA) or F test at α = 5% and 1% levels to determine the effect of treatment was tested further by HSD (honestly significant difference) testat the level of 5%. The result shows that the interaction type of organic fertilizer and the dosage of organic fertilizer treatment significant effect on the weight of the melon. Chicken manure is the best organic fertilizer on the size and quality of the melon. Dosage of 45 tons ha-1 organic fertilizer gave the highest results but it was not significantly different with a dosage of 30 tons ha-1. The use of chicken manure fertilizer of 30 tons ha-1 is more efficient in agronomy in increasing melons yield on peatlands.

Abstract

ABSTRAKKegiatan penyediaan  pakan lebah kelulut (Trigona sp) mengandalkan tanaman yang ada di sekitarnya dan pemanenan madu dilakukan teknik konvesional, yang memiliki kekurangan tidak efektif dari segi waktu dan kurang higienis. Pengabdian ini bertujuan mengenalkan jenis-jens tanaman sumber pakan lebah kelulut (Trigona sp) dan melatih teknik budidayanya serta pemanenan madu kelulut yang higienis. Lokasi kegiatan ini di Desa Anjir, Kabupaten Pulang Pisau, Kalimantan Tengah. Metode kegiatan ini terdiri dari (1) persiapan pengadaan bahan tanaman dan media tanam, (2) persiapan bahan dan alat pemanenan madu kelulut modifikasi, dan (3) sosialisasi. Tanaman yang dikembangkan adalah tanaman bunga air mata pengantin karena mudah untuk ditanam dan dipelihara. Alat panen yang diperkenalkan merupakan alat panen modifikasi yang direkatkan dengan botol sebagai wadah untuk menampung madu. Hasil kegiatan ini bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat pembudidaya lebah madu kelulut melakukan budidaya tanaman bunga air mata pengantin sebagai sumber pakan lebah kelulut dan melakukan kegiatan pemanenan madu kelulut  dengan menggunakan alat panen madu modifikasi, sehingga  terjadi peningkatan kuantitas dan kualitas produk karena proses pemanenan madu kelulut lebih cepat dan higienis dengan menggunakan alat panen madu modifikasi. Pengabdian ini menyimpulkan bahwa meningkat pengetahuan dan keahlian masyarakat dalam penyediaan pakan dan proses panen madu kelulut yang higienis. Kata kunci: kelulut; madu; pakan; panen ABSTRACTThe activity of providing kelulut bee feed (Trigona sp) relies on the surrounding plants and harvesting of honey is carried out by conventional techniques, which have the disadvantage of being ineffective in terms of time and hygiene. This service aims to introduce the types of plants that feed the kelulut bee (Trigona sp) and train cultivation techniques and hygienic harvesting of kelulut honey. The location of this activity is in Anjir Village, Pulang Pisau Regency, Central Kalimantan. The method of this activity consists of (1) preparation of procurement of plant materials and planting media, (2) preparation of materials and tools for harvesting modified kelulut honey, (3) socialization. The plant developed is a bridal tear flower plant because it is easy to plant and maintain. The harvesting tool introduced is a modified harvesting tool that is glued to a bottle as a container to hold honey. The result of this activity is that there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of the kelulut honey bee cultivator community in cultivating bridal tear flower plants as a source of kelulut bee feed and harvesting kelulut honey using modified honey harvesting tools, resulting in an increase in product quantity and quality due to the honey harvesting process. kelulut faster and more hygienic by using a modified honey harvester. This service concludes that the knowledge and expertise of the community increases in the provision of feed and the hygienic harvesting process of kelulut honey. Keywords: feed; harvest;honey; kelulut

Abstract

Drought condition caused the changes in leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant on drought stress. The purpose of this research was to study the leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant on drought stress. Research was conducted in the Cikabayan greenhouse-IPB using complete randomized block design (RAKL) with 5 replications. First factor was soybean genotypes i.e. Slamet, Tanggamus and Wilis. Second factor was PEG i.e. PEG 0% and 20%. The drought stress was applied only at a vegetative phase. The result showed that drought stress with PEG simulation caused the changes in leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean plant were trifoliat leaf number and leaf thickness. Leaf morpho-physiological characters of soybean that could be used as markers for adaptation under drought stress.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pemberdayaan masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan kiambang menjadi kompos sebagai pupuk organik. Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melatih mitra untuk memanfaatkan kiambang yang selama ini dianggap sebagai gulma air menjadi produk yang bermanfaat yaitu kompos. Kegiatan pengabdian dilaksanakan bermitra dengan kelompok tani “Palangka Raya Bertani” di Kelurahan Tumbang Tahai Kecamatan Bukit Batu, Kota Palangka Raya, Provinsi Kalimantan Tengah. Metode yang dilakukan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktek, monitoring dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adalah mitra mendapatkan pengetahuan baru dalam membuat kiambang menjadi kompos, dapat menghemat biaya pembelian pupuk untuk kegiatan pertanian dan memiliki peluang usaha kompos.

Abstract

Tanaman sorgum merupakan tanaman alternatif yang populer sebagai bahan pangan, bahan baku industri bioetanol dan sumber pakan ternak. Penggunaan teknik budidaya yang tepat dalam budidaya sorgum dapat meningkatkan hasil tanaman sorgum. Batang sisa panen berpotensi sebagai sumber gula alami yang bernilai ekonomis. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan menguji pengaruh pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK pada tanah berpasir terhadap jumlah ruas batang dan tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK tidak berpengaruh terhadap jumlah ruas batang sorgum. Perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dan NPK berpengaruh terhadap tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum. Tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum tertinggi terdapat pada perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dosis 30 ton/ha dan NPK dosis 300 kg/ha yaitu 7,783 obrix. Perlakuan yang efisien untuk mendapatkan tingkat kemanisan batang sorgum yaitu perlakuan pupuk kandang ayam dosis 20 ton/ha dan NPK dosis 300 kg/ha. Batang sorgum bagian bawah memiliki tingkat kemanisan yang lebih tinggi yaitu 6,352 obrix (setara dengan kadar gula sebesar 3,527 %), dibandingkan batang bagian atas dan tengah.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari korelasi antara peubah pertumbuhan yaitu tinggi tanaman, nisbah pucuk akar, diameter batang terhadap hasil produksi cabai rawit (Capsicum frutescens) di tanah gambut sebagai komponen penentu produksi cabai berdasarkan nilai korelasi. Penelitian dilaksanakan selama 6 bulan di Kebun Percobaan Universitas Muhammadiyah Palangkaraya. Penelitian dilakukan di polibag, dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi Pearson, korelasi parsial dan korelasi berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji korelasi Pearson bahwa tinggi tanaman, dan diameter batang memiliki hubungan positif dan bernilai sedang dengan berat buah cabai, sedangkan nisbah pucuk akar memiliki hubungan negative terhadap berat buah cabai. Hasil analisis korelasi parsial menunjukkan bahwa variabel tinggi tanaman dengan nisbah pucuk akar berkorelasi positif dan berkriteria cukup. Hubungan variabel nisbah pucuk akar dengan diameter batang berkorelasi positif dan termasuk kriteria korelasi kuat terhadap berat buah. Hasil uji korelasi berganda menunjukkan bahwa tinggi tanaman, nisbah pucuk akar, diameter batang berpengaruh negative terhadap berat buah cabai.

Abstract

Oil palm empty fruit bunches are materials used as organic fertilizers that can be applied to oil palm plantations, thereby reducing the use of inorganic fertilizers. Indigofera zollingeriana is an appropriate alternative as an interplant because of its high branch and leaf development. Functions as a ground cover and a supplier of carbon stocks naturally plays a role in water and soil conservation. This study aims to determine the effect of oil palm empty fruit bunches and I. zollingeriana on land improvement to support oil palm growth and production. Variables observed included changes in soil water content, soil microorganism activity, and carbon stock. The results showed that the soil planted with I. zollingeriana and given the empty fruit bunches of oil palm had a higher soil moisture content. The highest soil carbon stock, oil palm carbon stock, and vegetation carbon stock were 81.6 t ha-1, 36.60 t ha-1, and 1.89 t ha-1, respectively. The population and activity of microorganisms varies. The highest total microorganisms were treated with I. zollingeriana and oil palm EFB 105 (10⁵CFU g-1), while the lowest was 60 (10⁵CFU g-1). Planting I. zollingeriana and providing oil palm empty fruit bunches increased groundwater reserves by 36.71%.
