Abstract

In the history that starts from the beginning of civilization to enter the present timeline, it is known that living things have only two footholds in this world, namely land and sea. But entering the middle of the 20th century, a foothold other than land and sea emerged, called space, which attracted the attention of many parties because it was believed to have resources where technology could adapt. These resources are the target of many countries because they can be used to become a forum for developing a technology. One of them is Indonesia, a country that wants to develop its space technology to realize its goals. Indonesia seeks to fulfill and advance the interests of its country through cooperative relations with other countries such as India. In this discussion, the main focus of the reading is that this research describes Indonesia's space cooperation with India, which aims to fulfill the interests of the country's resources. The research method used in this research is descriptive research, which refers to a qualitative case study. References from bilateral cooperation relations and space power are used to analyze the application of this space cooperation. Judging from the explanation above, this research shows that there are no concrete results from the continuation of the implementation of Indonesia-India space cooperation on the development of Indonesia's space technology.

Abstract

The state has the highest authority to regulate various domestic and foreign policies, as well as policies for accepting and rejecting foreign aid (BLN). This paper aims to provide an overview of the independence of the state to accept and reject foreign aid to national interests at the time the assistance is offered. Referring to the foreign aid theory, donor countries have various motives when they distribute foreign aid to various recipient countries or partner countries, from humanitarian, diplomatic, trade or market expansion, and culture. Therefore, the author tries to explain that the state has the highest independence and supremacy. Independence is required by countries that accept and reject foreign aid as forms of state defense. Reflecting on Indonesia as a partner country, Indonesia has full rights and sovereignty to select various foreign aids that are in line with Indonesia’s political and economic interests. On the other hand, foreign aid which leads to limit Indonesian policies and reduce Indonesian sovereignty should be rejected with a diplomatic strategy. In fact, the Government of Indonesia and the governments of other partner countries need the awareness, participations, and full support of all components of society, so that they can live independently and not depend on foreign aid from any party.

Abstract

Abstract

This article aims to explain the Western European Union (WEU) in the dynamics of European regional security. We will start the article by identifying problems through the historical basis of the WEU’s formation. The WEU emerged after the second world war after the Modified Brussels Treaty (MBT), and was expected to appear as a pillar of European security architecture. The presence of the WEU in the European security constellation created a feud between the two camps, namely Atlantism and Europeanism. WEU based on the MBT has a mandate in the area of collective security and the economy. However, these tasks are then taken over by more established organizations such as NATO, or emerging ones such as the European Community (EC). This causes WEU to die as an institution. After the Rome declaration in 1984, WEU underwent a revitalization of its institution. But the spirit is back down. We believe that the decline in the spirit of revitalization was due to WEU's failure to deal with the Yugoslav crisis. At the end of the article, We conclude that Europe is not ready to create an independent security environment.

Abstract

Indonesia suffered losses in the electronics sector due to excessive imports of mobile phone products from China and entered easily through the ASEAN-China Free Trade Area agreement throughout 2018-2021. The government makes efforts internally and externally by implementing the Program for Increasing the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN), implementing efforts to use the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), registration. International Mobile Equipment Identity (IMEI), implementing the Prohibition and Restriction of Goods (LARTAS), and entering into agreements with foreign electronics companies namely Huawei, Lenovo and ZTE Cooperation to improve the quality of Indonesian mobile phones. The government also plays an important role as a forum for foreign companies that want to build their factories and invest in Indonesian electronic products in order to advance Indonesian technology so that they can compete with other electronic products in the free market around the world, both with fellow ASEAN members and with China itself.

Abstract

Indonesia, as a country with abundant natural resources, faces serious challenges related to the use of non-renewable natural resources such as petroleum. Negative environmental impacts and the risk of depletion of these resources have triggered the need for a transition to renewable energy. We use an inductive qualitative method through document research as data collection. Given the International Energy Agency's (IEA) role in supporting national energy sustainability and reviewing Indonesia's energy policies, a pertinent question arises regarding its role in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze the concrete role of the International Energy Agency (IEA) in supporting the sustainability of renewable energy supply in Indonesia with reference to SDG 7. This study finds that the role of the IEA in striving for a renewable energy transition in Indonesia centres on providing analysis of the potential and challenges as well as policy recommendations to direct the government in developing strategies for implementing renewable energy. The IEA also facilitates international cooperation, technology transfer, and investment in the renewable energy sector. Indonesia is committed to achieving the targets of Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 7, which focuses on universal access to affordable, clean, and sustainable energy. Cooperation with the IEA will continue to be key in achieving this goal, especially to achieve the net-zero emissions target by 2060 and ensure the availability of a sustainable renewable energy supply.

Abstract

Brexit has restricted the flow of migrant workers in the industrial sector and agricultural system in the United Kingdom. This research examines the dynamics of the agricultural industry issues in the United Kingdom, as well as the strategies implemented by the UK government to minimize the issues faced in the agricultural sector. The methodology employed is qualitative, utilizing theories of international migration and concepts of international immigration policy. The UK Government has implemented strategies to minimize the agricultural issues after Brexit. These strategies include implementing seasonal worker visas, adopting a points-based immigration system, formulating the agricultural act 2020, promoting local workers, and embracing automation. These strategies have successfully minimized the issues in the agricultural industry in the United Kingdom.
