Abstract

The service aims to reduce plastic waste, especially used diapers, to maintain the balance of the natural ecosystem. Diapers are disposable diapers used by babies, toddlers, and the elderly. Increasing the use of diapers can ease the work of families for those who do not have babysitters or nurses. The impact behind its practicality has a big impact on the environment, namely polluting water and soil, which are basic human needs, so it is necessary to have good diapress processing, because diapress contains plastic, which is difficult to decompose. One of the efforts made to reduce diapers and maintain environmental conditions so that they are not polluted is by managing diaper waste into something useful and valuable, such as flower pots. Flower pots are made using the Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) method, which consists of discovery (studying), dream (dreaming), design (designing), define (determining goals), and destiny (doing). Utilizing diapers in flower pots can reduce the accumulation of rubbish, thereby preventing the danger of flooding, preserving the natural ecosystem, and beautifying the environment.

Abstract

The research aims to find out whether the concept of kafa’ah in the book of Fathul Mu’in is still relevant for the dynamic Mayangan community. This research focuses on the application of the concept of kafa’ah can maintain the integrity of the household of the Mayangan community in Jember. This research method uses a phenomenological approach to understand the experience of the Mayangan community in applying Zainuddin's concept of kafa’ah. The findings show that: first, the majority of the Mayangan community applies the concept of kafa’ah in the book Fathul Mu’in. Some interpret kafa’ah as equality in education, religion, and descent. Some understand compatibility in thinking. Second, there are two categories of people's understanding of the concept of kafa’ah: The first category consists of people who actively recite and study the book of Fathul Mu’in, and the second category is people who understand through informal oral delivery. The five criteria of kafa’ah in the book of Fathul Mu’in are very relevant for the people of Mayangan who have experienced a change in religious mindset to materialism. Therefore, it is morally necessary to place religious intelligence and morals as a priority for choosing a life partner for the integrity of the household and for building a healthy civilization.

Abstract

Garbage, mainly plastic, in Jember Regency needs to be appropriately managed; many are found in rivers and scattered in gardens. This research aims to realize the character of students who care about the environment; research is carried out using projects. This type of research is Research and Development (R&D) adapting the development model from Plomp through 3 stages, namely: 1) analysis); 2) design and develop prototypes; 3) evaluate. In the analysis phase, observations were made at TPSS and TPSA, and distributing environmental care character questionnaires were sent to 23 students. At the design and development prototype stage, a project is carried out to realize the character of caring for the environment through recycling waste into valuable products. At the evaluation stage, questionnaires were distributed about environmental care characters to 23 students, and product evaluation, namely writing the manuscript of the project that had been carried out. The results of TPSS and TPSA observations around the PTS campus in Jember, the average relative value was 9.47, which was in the less category. In contrast, students' environmental care character values before project implementation obtained an average score of 40.41, below expectations. The evaluation results at the design and development stages, namely recycling waste into valuable products, obtained an average of 81.67 in the category of exceeding expectations. The results of the product evaluation, namely the character value after carrying out project activities, obtained a character value of 77.04 which is in the excellent category while recycling waste into valuable products that have been written into manuscripts with an average value of 79.46 is in the excellent category. These results indicate that project-based learning is suitable for realizing the character values of students caring about the environment

Abstract

This research aims to determine the influence of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) on sustainable lifestyle cultivation of Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) on the dimensions of Faith, Piety to God Almighty, and Noble Character. The research approach is quantitative, the research type is quasi-experimental, the design is a one-group pre-test post-test design, and the sample was obtained through purposive sampling. This research will be conducted once a week from January to April 2025. The population in this study consisted of students from Junior High School 1 Panti, with a sample of 31 students from class VII B. The instrument used is an observation sheet adapted from the 2024 Ministry of Education and Culture P5 development guide. Data analysis was conducted using percentages and statistics with the assistance of SPSS v25. The results of the percentage test showed a pre-test score of 36.03% (below expectations) and a post-test score of 90.52% (exceeding expectations). Since the data from this study is not normally distributed, although homogeneous, the effect was therefore tested using the Wilcoxon test. The results of the Wilcoxon analysis yielded a value of 0.000 (sig < 0.05), indicating a significant effect. These results indicate that P5 activities cultivating medicinal plants can enhance the dimensions of Faith, Piety to God Almighty, and Noble Character, as well as a sense of responsibility for protecting the surrounding environment. These results indicate that cultivating TOGA is highly suitable as an alternative for empowering students' character in learning.
