Abstract

Abstrak Upacara Wiwaha adalah upacara perkawinan keagamaan umat Hindu untuk mendapatkan persaksian dari Tuhan Yang Maha Esa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan prosesi dan makna upacara perkawinan umat Hindu Wiwaha dan mendeskripsikan peran ?Dukun Manten? dalam pelaksanaan upacara tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Informan kunci penelitian ini adalah pemangku adat dan masyrakat Ngaringan. Observasi di kantor desa Ngaringan, Pura desa Ngaringan, dan rumah pemangku upacara desa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Prosesi Wiwaha dimulai dari Nontonin, upacara penyambutan kedua mempelai, membakar tetimbung sebagai simbol pemberitahuan kepada bhuta kala, berjalan mengelilingi banten pesaksian dan kala sepetan, dan Mapejati atau Persaksian. Makna dari hal tersebut adalah adanya rasa tanggung jawab, rasa ketuhanan, serta rasa syukur tehadap hidup. Simbol dalam upacara perkawinan diharapkan adanya pancaran positif dalam membina rumah tangga serta bertujuan untuk mendapatkan keturunan yang saputra sebagai upaya untuk menebus dosa-dosa leluhur; dan (2) Dukun Manten berperan dalam mencarikan hari baik menurut dino pasaran atau weton kedua pasangan serta hari Naas di kedua keluarga tersebut. Tradisi perhiungan weton sebagai tuntunan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Kata Kunci: Agama, Wiwaha, Petungan Jawa, Budaya AbstractThe Wiwaha ceremony is a Hindu religious marriage ceremony to get a witness from God Almighty. This study aims to describe the procession and meaning of the Hindu marriage ceremony of the Wiwaha people and describe the role of the "Shaman Manten" in the implementation of the ceremony. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques using interviews, observation, and documentation. The key informants of this research are the adat stakeholders and the Ngaringan community. Observation at the Ngaringan village office, the Ngaringan village temple, and the village ceremony holders house. The results showed that: (1) The Wiwaha procession began with Nontonin, a welcoming ceremony for the bride and groom, burning tetimbung as a symbol of notification to the bhuta kala, walking around the banter of the witness and the night, and Mapejati or Witness. The meaning of this is a sense of responsibility, a sense of divinity, and gratitude for life. The symbol in the marriage ceremony is expected to have a positive light in fostering the household and aims to get offspring saputra in an effort to atone for the sins of the ancestors; and (2) the Manten Shaman plays a role in finding good days according to the market dino or weton of the two couples and the fateful day of the two families. Abstract

Abstrak Temu temanten nembe merupakan prosesi perkawinan yang dilaksanakan masyarakat Tuban ketika menikahkan anak yang pertama. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendiskripsikan (1) tahapan upacara temu temanten nembe, dan (2) makna upacara temu temanten nembe. Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pedoman wawancara, pedoman observasi dan pedoman dokumentasi. Analisis data penelitian ini menggunakan model analisis interaktif yang mana di dalamnya terdapat tiga komponen pokok yang harus dimengerti dan dipahami oleh setiap peneliti. Tiga komponen tersebut adalah reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan (1) tahapan pada temu temanten nembe meliputi tiga hal yaitu: yang pertama menyiapkan sarana dan prasarana temu temanten nembe, yang kedua pelaksanaan temu temanten nembe, dan yang ketiga adalah tahapan setelah temu temanten nembe. (2) kandungan makna yang terdapat dalam temu temanten nembe terletak pada sarana dan prasarana temu temanten nembe yaitu nasi kuning, kembang mayang, iyan, ilir, jebor, irus, entong, kukusan, tombak, kendi dan kinangan yang kesemuanya memiliki makna yang berbeda-beda. Temu temanten nembe merupakan sarana untuk permohonan kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa supaya diberi kelancaran dalam melangsungkan prosesi pernikahan dan tidak diganggu oleh roh-roh halus, dan diharapkan supaya menjadi keluarga yang selalu bahagia, bisa saling menghargai pasangan, bertanggung jawab dan selamat dunia serta akhiratnya. Kata Kunci: Makna, Temu Temanten Nembe, Upacara Pernikahan, Budaya Abstract Temu Temanten Nembe is a local cultural heritage of Tuban that is worth preserving. Temu Temanten Nembe must be done by the Tuban community in marrying their first child. The purpose of this study is to describe (1) the stages of Temu Temanten Nembe, and (2) the meaning of temu temanten nembe. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative data collection techniques used are interviews, observation, and documentation. The instruments used in this study were interview guidelines, observation guidelines and documentation guidelines. This research data analysis uses an interactive analysis model in which there are three main components that must be understood and understood by each researcher. The three components are data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate (1) the stages of the temu temanten nembe include three things: the first is preparing the facilities and infrastructure of the temu temanten nembe, the second is the implementation of the temu temanten nembe, and the third is the stage after the temu temanten nembe. (2) the content of cultural values contained in the temu temanten nembe lies in the facilities and infrastructure of temu temanten nembe namely yellow rice, kembang mayang, iyan, ilir, jebor, irus, entong, steaming, spear, jug and kinangan all of which have different meanings. Temu temanten nembe is a means for supplication to God Almighty to be given a smooth process of marriage and not be disturbed by spirits, and is expected to be a family that is always happy, can respect each others partners, take responsibility and be safe in the world and the hereafter. Abstract

Abstrak Upacara tumplak punjen merupakan upacara yang dilaksanakan ketika orang tua menikahkan anak bungsu atau anak yang terakhir. Tujuan penelitan ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan asal-usul dan tahapan upacara tumplak punjen; (2) mendeskripsikan makna upacara tumplak punjen; dan (3) menjelaskan peran Dukun Manten dalam upacara tersebut. Jenis penelitian ini deskriptif kualitatif. Dalam penelitian ini teknik yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data ialah wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian ini, pertama, asal-usul upacara tumplak punjen sudah dimulai dari jaman kerajaan Majapahit (1293 M) ) kemudian pada jaman kerajaan Mataram Islam (1700 M) diberikan sentuhan Islam sehingga uborampe atau perlengkapan yang dipakai untuk tumplak punjen disederhanakan seperti yang ada pada saat ini. Kedua, makna filosofis dari upacara tumplak punjen adalah sebagai ungkapan syukur kedua orang tua kepada tuhan karena telah selesai menunaikan kewajibannya terhadap semua anak-anaknya dengan cara menikahkan, sebagai curahan kasih sayang orang tua kepada semua anaknya dan tidak membedakan anak yang satu dengan yang lainnya, menyampaikan amanat kepada semua anak cucu agar tetaphidup rukun dan saling tolong menolong, serta memberikan bekal kehidupanuntuk semua anak-anaknya. Ketiga, Dukun Manten bertanggung jawab mengarahkan pelaksanaan upacara Tumplak Punjen sesuai tata aturan adat. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah wawasan dan pengetahuan tentang tradisi tumplak punjen dalam prosesi panggih pernikahan adat jawa, sehingga generasi muda dapat melestarikan nilai-nilai budaya leluhur.Kata Kunci: Tumplak Punjen, Makna Filosofis, Pernikahan, JawaAbstractTumplak punjen ceremony is a ceremony that is held when parents marry the youngest child or the last child. The purpose of this research is (1) to describe the origins and stages of the punjen tumplak ceremony; (2) describe the meaning of the punjen tumplak ceremony; and (3) explain the role of the Manten Shaman in the ceremony. This type of research is descriptive qualitative. In this study the techniques used to collect data are interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of this study were, first, the origins of the punjen tumplak ceremony had begun from the era of the Majapahit kingdom (1293 AD) and then in the Islamic Mataram kingdom (1700 AD) a touch of Islam was given so that the uborampe or equipment used for the punjen pudding was simplified like that of the currently. Second, the philosophical meaning of the punjen tumplak ceremony is as an expression of gratitude for both parents to God because they have completed fulfilling their obligations to all their children by marrying off, as an outpouring of parental affection for all their children and not distinguishing one child from another, deliver the mandate to all children and grandchildren so that they can live in harmony and help one another, and provide life supplies for all their children. Third, the Manten Shaman is responsible for directing the implementation of the Tumplak Punjen ceremony in accordance with traditional rules. The results of this research are expected to be able to add insight and knowledge about the tumplak punjen tradition in the procession of Javanese traditional wedding ceremonies, so that the younger generation can preserve ancestral cultural values.Keywords: Tumplak Punjen, Philosophical Meaning, Marriage of Java

Abstract

This study aimed to explain the reality of survival mechanisms and adaptive strategies by traditional retailers in Surabaya in facing the existence of massive modern retail stores. This study used qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The data collection method used observation and interview techniques. Data analyzed with Clark and Scott's survival mechanism theory and the adaptive strategy by Miles and Snow. The result of this research was in the aspect of defender strategy, traditional retailers did various strategies when prices went up, and instead of increased the prices they choosed to reduce the profits. The stores equipped with people daily needs to retain customers. Even though the stock was small, the items sold were complete. It was important to promote family relations with buyers. A striking aspect is the close family relation that was so different from modern retail stores. In the aspect of reactor strategy, the owners responded to the situation without having a long-term strategy design. Their store’s responses were reactive and short-term oriented in the form of selling goods by following the tastes of buyers and current trends. Meanwhile, in carrying out business performance in connection with the survival mechanism, Surabaya traditional retailers met the business assessment of the Islamic perspective namely on the aspects of material, mental, spiritual, and fraternal.

Abstract

Performa perempuan bercadar saat ini banyak dijumpai di social media. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) mendeskripsikan detail tata rias pengantin bercadar dari media Instagram dan (2) menemukan  karakter dan konsep kecantikan dari tampilan pengantin bercadar di media Instagram. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dengan dokumentasi. Obyek penelitian adalah tiga akun Instagram selebgram bercadar di Indonesia. Hasil dari penelitian ini, pertama,  pemilik akun @wardahmaulina menggunakan pengantin adat aceh untuk golongan rakyat dengan busana pengantin dan cadar berwarna hitam serta trend make up Bold. Pemilik akun @sonia ristanti menggunakan adat aceh golongan ulee baling yaitu golongan raja/sultan berwarna merah serta cadar berwarna cokelat muda dengan trend make up arabican look. Pemilik akun @unialfi menggunakan tata rias pengantin internasional serta cadar berwarna putih menggunakan trend make up flawless. Kedua, Karakter yang dimunculkan pengantin bercadar terlihat dari wajah, tubuh, peran di ranah publik, dan peran di ranah domestik. Perempuan bercadar juga ingin dikatakan cantik meski tidak terlihat wajahnya. Kecantikan dalam persepsi perempuan bercadar adalah ketika dirinya berbuat baik, berucapan yang baik serta menunjukkan tingkah laku yang baik, karena kecantikan tidak untuk diperlombakan. Gaya kecantikan perempuan bercadar di Instagram memiliki ciri khas tersendiri seperti, busana yang digunakan fashionable dan menggunakan eye make up yang menonjolkan bagian mata.

Abstract

Mutih fasting is a fasting tradition for the bride before the wedding ceremony in Purwokerto, Pati village, Central Java. This study aimed to describe the implementation and meaning of mutih fasting undertaken by prospective brides and determine the value of mutih fasting spiritual education for the brides. This qualitative descriptive study was conducted from August to December 2021. Data were collected by using observation and interviews. The obtained data were analyzed using the phenomenology approach. The results showed that the practice of mutih fasting allowed them to get closer to Allah. For prospective brides, fasting was interpreted as an inner preparation by cleansing the heart and soul to achieve wedding success and blessings. Physically, it was interpreted as an effort to suppress appetite so that the bride looked more beautiful and their aura radiated. Another finding showed that spiritual education was a process of self-purification (Takhalli) for the bride, adorning themselves with noble character (Tahalli), and feeling togetherness with Allah (Tajalli). After this tirakat, it was hoped that the bride had physical and spiritual readiness to enter domestic life, became a pious wife with a clean soul, behaved well and wisely, and received God's protection and help.

Abstract

Learning media is vital in supporting students' practical and exciting learning process, especially in learning that requires understanding specific concepts and competencies. The development of this animated video-based learning media is based on the need for innovative learning media development and following technological developments, especially in the context of stage makeup learning. This research also aims to determine 1) the development of animated video-based learning media, 2) the feasibility of animated video-based learning media, and 3) students' responses to using animated video-based learning media. This research uses a quantitative approach using the R&D (Research & Development) method and Four-D (4-D) research design. The 4-D stages adopted in this study include Define, Design, and Development. The data obtained validate the feasibility of animated video-based learning media and student responses. The research subjects were 26 Skin and Hair Beauty students at SMKN 3 Probolinggo. The data collection method used was a validation test and questionnaire. The analysis method uses averages to determine the feasibility of learning media and learner responses. Based on the results of data analysis of the feasibility of animated video-based learning media, very valid criteria were obtained, namely with an average of 89.78% for media experts and 88.89% for material experts. Abstract

Inclusive Education is education that is open to all groups of people. Inclusive-based education in Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) is to serve all students of different backgrounds. Students in Islamic boarding schools are composed of different backgrounds and personal identities, as students with inclusive values. Adaptation with the school environment requires self-efficacy in religiosity and spirituality. Self-efficacy can provide encouragement to students enrolled in Islamic boarding schools. Self-efficacy is a feeling of success through possessed abilities to achieve individual life goals. Self-efficacy gives a positive psychological impact towards a person in their lives. Research results indicated that there is a need for guidance and counseling services that can increase the self-efficacy of students yet allow them to stand firm in their religiosity and spirituality. To respond to this matter, there is the need for an application that students may use in any situation and condition. Therefore, the Islamic Guidance and Counseling Application (IGCA) answers the needs of education in Islamic boarding schools. The utilized method in this research was the qualitative method with observations, interviews, and documentation to examine the religiosity and spirituality of students in Islamic boarding schools. The research results are expected to be able to accommodate the needs of counselors in Islamic boarding schools with an inclusive approach for guidance and counseling of religiosity and spirituality.

Abstract

The prevalence of sexual violence has been rising, particularly with the increasing reports of online sexual abuse. This study aims to examine the experiences of victims subjected to online sexual grooming, a form of sexual violence occurring in digital spaces. The research focuses on the manipulative tactics employed by perpetrators to exploit their victims. Using a qualitative approach and a phenomenological study design, the research involved two participants who had been victims of online sexual grooming by unknown perpetrators, with no prior face-to-face contact. Data were collected through interviews, and analysis followed the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. Findings reveal that prior to the grooming process, participants encountered the perpetrators via social media and engaged in frequent conversations. Throughout the grooming process, perpetrators employed various manipulative techniques such as conversational manipulation, sustained contact, secrecy, sexualization, compliments, erratic moods, and other grooming behaviors. The emotional impact of online sexual grooming on the victims included both positive and negative feelings, with the latter predominating during the grooming experience.

Abstract

Arabian bride's makeup has sharp and glamorous makeup characteristics. This study aims to describe the design and embodiment of makeup for modern Arab brides. The type of research method used is the type of qualitative descriptive method. The data collection methods used are interviews and observation. Data analysis techniques using the formula mean / average. The results showed: (1) The results became the embodiment of modern Arab bridal makeup in accordance with the designs that have been made with very good ratings. (2) The results of the embodiment of modern Arab bridal face makeup received good grades and were accepted by respondents. Keywords: characteristics of Arab brides; Arabian brides; Arabian makeup
