Abstract

Low student achievement in Economics is often attributed to the use of teacher-centered instructional methods that do not optimally engage students in the learning process. Therefore, the implementation of learning methods that encourage active participation and collaboration among students is necessary. This study aims to examine the effect of the Active Learning method of the Team Quiz type on the Economics learning outcomes of tenth-grade students at SMAN 01 Paguyaman Pantai, Boalemo Regency. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design. The research sample consisted of 58 students selected using purposive sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires and documentation of learning outcomes and analyzed using SPSS software. The results indicate that the implementation of the Active Learning Team Quiz method has a positive and significant effect on students’ learning outcomes. Learning activities that emphasize group work, discussions, and team-based quizzes were found to enhance student engagement and improve their understanding of Economics concepts. Overall, the Team Quiz method proved to be effective in improving students’ learning outcomes. This study is expected to serve as a reference for teachers in applying active, collaborative, and student-centered learning strategies to enhance the quality of Economics instruction at the secondary school level.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of learning motivation on students' learning independence at SMP Negeri 3 Satap Kabila. This study used a quantitative approach with an ex post facto method. Data collection methods used in this study were observation, documentation, and questionnaires. The sample used in this study was 30 students with a total sampling technique. The results of the study showed that the simple linear regression test resulted in the equation Ý 53.782 +0.586X, with a constant score of 53.782 and a coefficient of 0.586. This indicates that the direction of the influence of variable X on variable Y is positive, and the sig. of 0.000 0.05 means that learning motivation has a positive and significant effect on student learning independence at SMP Negeri 3 Satap Kabila. The regression coefficient of 0.586 indicates that a one-unit increase in learning motivation leads to an increase of 0.586 or 58% in learning independence. The coefficient of determination obtained before was 0.534, meaning that 53.4% of the variability in student learning independence at SMPN 3 Satap Kabila Bone can be explained by the learning motivation variable. Meanwhile, the remaining 46.6% is influenced by other variables not examined in this study.

Abstract

Tujuan Penelitian ini untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Pendapatan Orang Tua Terhadap Tingkat Pendidikan anak di Desa Momalia II Kecamatan Posigadan Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode penelitian survey. Data yang digunakan adalah data primer yang diperoleh dari penyebaran kuesioner pada Kepala Keluarga di Desa Momalia II Kecamatan posigadan Kabupaten Bolaang Mongondow Selatan. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 406 kepala keluarga, dan sampel sebanyak 61 responden. Teknik analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pengaruh positif dan signifikan antara pendapatan orang tua terhadap tingkat pendidikan anak. Nilai korelasi (r) sebesar 0,891 menunjukkan hubungan yang sangat kuat antara kedua variabel. Nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,794 yang berarti 79,4% variasi tingkat pendidikan anak dijelaskan oleh pendapatan orang tua, sementara sisanya 20,6% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil uji signifikan diperoleh nilai >  yakni 19,031 > 1,999 pada taraf signifikansi α sebesar 5%, maka  : β = 0 artinya tidak terdapat pengaruh variabel X (Pendapatan Orang Tua) terhadap variabel Y (Tingkat Pendidikan Anak) di tolak dan  : β ≠ 0    artinya terdapat pengaruh variabel X (Pendapatan Orang Tua) terhadap variabel Y (Tingkat Pendidikan Anak) diterima. Kesimpulan penelitian ini menyatakan bahwa semakin tinggi pendapatan orang tua maka semakin tinggi pula tingkat pendidikan anak

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kegiatan ekstrakurikuler terhadap penguatan pendidikan karakter siswa kelas VII di SMP Negeri 12 Kota Gorontalo. Pendidikan karakter merupakan aspek penting dalam pembentukan kepribadian siswa yang tidak hanya dibentuk melalui pembelajaran intrakurikuler, tetapi juga melalui keterlibatan aktif dalam kegiatan non-akademik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara kegiatan ekstrakurikuler dan penguatan karakter siswa, dengan nilai koefisien determinasi sebesar 54,4%. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa partisipasi aktif dalam kegiatan ekstrakurikuler berkontribusi secara nyata terhadap pembentukan karakter siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan optimalisasi manajemen kegiatan ekstrakurikuler sebagai strategi pendidikan karakter yang efektif di sekolah

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to analyze the relationship between the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning and the learning motivation of Grade XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara. Methods – This study employed a quantitative approach using a survey method. The population consisted of all 63 Grade XII students at SMK Negeri 1 Bulango Utara. Using purposive sampling, 54 students who met the research criteria were selected as the sample. Data were collected through a validated and reliable questionnaire based on Keller’s ARCS motivation model. Data were analyzed using simple linear regression. Findings – The findings indicate a positive and statistically significant relationship between the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning and students’ learning motivation. The coefficient of determination (R² = 0.388) suggests that variations in learning motivation are associated with variations in students’ perceptions of the implementation of Wordwall-assisted Game-Based Learning within the regression model, while the remaining 61.2% may be related to other factors not examined in this study.Research Implications – The findings provide empirical support for the relevance of the ARCS motivation framework in digital learning environments, particularly regarding students’ attention, relevance, confidence, and satisfaction. Practically, the study suggests that interactive web-based learning platforms such as Wordwall may be considered as alternative instructional media to support student engagement. However, the study is limited to one vocational school and relies on self-report questionnaire data, which may restrict the generalizability of the findings and does not allow causal conclusions to be drawn.

Abstract

The low level of students’ critical thinking skills in dealing with contextual economic problems has become one of the challenges in Economics learning at the senior high school level. Students often experience difficulties in analyzing problems, evaluating information, and drawing logical conclusions when faced with questions that require Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS). This study aims to analyze students’ critical thinking processes in solving HOTS questions in Economics through the implementation of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. This research employed a mixed methods approach with a sequential explanatory design. The research subjects were eleventh-grade senior high school students who were purposively selected into two classes, namely an experimental group and a control group, each consisting of 30 students. Data collection methods included HOTS-based pretests and posttests, observations of the learning process, and interviews, with the main instrument being essay tests that measured critical thinking indicators. Quantitative data analysis was conducted through normality tests, homogeneity tests, independent t-tests, paired t-tests, and N-gain calculations, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively to describe students’ critical thinking processes. The results showed a significant improvement in the critical thinking skills of the experimental group compared to the control group. In addition, students in the experimental group were more capable of going through the stages of critical thinking in problem-solving activities. This study concludes that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model is effective in improving students’ critical thinking skills in answering HOTS questions in Economics learning. Therefore, its implementation is important to support learning oriented toward the development of higher-order thinking skills.
