Abstract

The research aims to find out the effect of rhinoceros beetles larvae feces  (Oryctes rhinoceros) and get the best dosage on growth of palm oil (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in preproduced-1. This research was conducted at palm oil plantation of PTPN V Sei Galuh Pantai Cermin Village, Tapung District, Kampar Regency, Riau Province, that was arrange completely randomized design (RAL) non-factorial with 4 levels and replicated 4 times, so there are 16 experimental units. The dosage for treatment of O. rhinoceros larvae feces (K) consists of 0, 5, 10 and 15 kg per plant. The observed parameters were increase plant height, increase number of plant midribs, increase plant stem circumference, increase length of plant midribs and increase number of plant leaves.  The results of the research showed that the effect of O. rhinoceros larvae feces increased the growth of palm oil in preproduced-1, as seen on parameters ofincrease plant height, increase number of plant midribs, increase plant stem circumference, increase length of plant midribs and increase number of plant leaves. The treatment of O. rhinoceros larvae feces at dose 15 kg per plant showed the highest impact on increase plant height with 62.50 cm, increase number of plant midribs with 14.00 strands, increase plant stem circumference with 37.25 cm, increase length of plant midribs with 50.75 cm and increasenumber of plant leaves with 10.50 strands. Keywords:Organic fertilizer of O. rhinoceros larvae feces, palm oil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of husk and cocopeat charcoal planting medium, liquid organic fertilizer (POC) on banana peel waste and the interaction between planting medium and POC on banana peel waste on the growth and production of tomato plants cultivated in hydroponic substrates. Dosen Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Riau JOM Faperta UR Vol. 6 Edisi 1 Januari s/d Juni 2019 research was conducted at the experimental field of Faculty of Agriculture University of Riau from August 2017 to January 2018 using factorial randomized complete design (CRD). The first factor was the planting medium consisting of two levels, husk charcoal (M1) and cocopeat (M2). The second factor was four concentrations of liquid organic fertilizer from banana peel waste consisting, without the administration of liquid organic fertilizer banana peel waste (P0), 2 ml.l-1 water (P1), 4 ml.l-1 water (P2) and 6 ml.l-1 water (P3). The parameters observed were plant height, day of flowering, number of flowers, percentage of fruit formation, day of first harvest, number of fruits per plant, total weight of fruit per plant and weight per fruit. The results showed that there was no interaction between the planting medium and the POC of banana peel waste as well as the single factor of POC peel waste waste on all observed treatments. The treatment of planting medium had a significant effect on all parameters observed except the percentage of fruit formation, age of first harvest, and weight per fruit. The use of husk charcoal medium produced higher plants with higher number of flowers, higher fruit weight and total fruit weight per plant compared to the use of cocopeat planting medium in the production of hydroponic substrate tomato plants. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the watering volume and cocoa pod husks compost in the RYP medium as well as to get the best treatment combination on the growth of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) seedlings in the main nursery. This research was conducted in the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru, from December 2015 to March 2016. This research conducted as an experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD) and 3 replications. Each experimental unit had  2 seedlings. Parameters those measured were seedling height, leaves number,  trunk diameter growth, roots to shoot ratio, and dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using ANOVA and Duncan's Multiple Range's at the tier of 5%. The results suggest  that the interaction of  watering volume and cocoa pod husks compost  had no significant effect on all parameters, but watering volume significantly affected dry weight. While cocoa pod husks compost significant effect on seedling height and seedling dry weight. In implementation of  2.5 l / polybag watering volume and 200g / polybag cocoa pod husks compost provide the best treatment to all parameters.  Keywords: oil palm,  water volume watering, cocoa pod husks compost

Abstract

 This study aims to determine the growth and production of mustard using a planting medium composition and concentration of liquid organic fertilizer market vegetable waste with verticulture system. This researsch has been conducted at the Faculty of Agricultural Experimental Station Unit Riau University Campus Bina Widya KM 12,5 Panam Pekanbaru, for 4 months is from April to July 2017. This study used a randomized factorial block design (FBD). The first factor is the composition of the growing medium consisting of 4 levels, top soil: rice husk: sawdust. M0: top soil, M1: 3:2:1, M2: 2:3:2, M3: 1:1:3. The second factor is the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer market vegetable  waste which consits of 4 levels, P0:0 ml.liter of water-1,  P1: 150 ml.liter of water-1, P2: 300 ml.liter of water-1, P3: 450 ml.liter of water-1.The parameters those observed were: plant height, leaf number, fresh weight, consumable weight, and the root volume. The Ducan’s multiple range test at the 5% level was used for mean separations after analiysis of variance. The composition of embedding medium top soil, rice husk, sawdust (2:3:2) and the concentration of liquid organic fertilizer aste vegetable market of 300 ml.liter of water-1 significantly affected the plant height, leaf number, fresh weight and the root volume.Keywords: mustard, planting medium, liquid organic fertilizer market vegetable waste, verticulture.

Abstract

 Research on palm oil plant seeds using saline soil media has never been discouraged doing, therefore conducted research using saline soils by providing complementary liquid fertilizer treatment bayfolan. Fertilizer application through the leaves was conducted to determine the effect of fertilizer and to find the best fertilizer concentrations in the medium saline soil on the growth of seedlings of oil palm plantations. The experiment has been conducted in the station Faculty of Agriculture, Riau University, Pekanbaru from May 2016 to August 2016. This study used a completely randomized design consisting of 6 levels p0: 0 ml/l air, p1: 1 ml/l air, p2: 2 ml/l air, p3: 3 ml/l air, p4: 4 ml/l air and p5: 5 ml/lair. Data were statistically analyzed by analysis of variance, then the results followed with honestly significant difference test (BNJ) at 5%. Parameters measured were analysis of soil chemical properties, increase seedling height, increase the number of leaf midrib, increase in diameter hump, root volume, the ratio of the canopy and root and seedling dry weight. The results showed that the effect of fertilizer complementary liquid with different concentrations in the medium saline soil does not produce any real effect on the parameters of observation, only the parameters in the number of leaf midrib and dry weight were influential real and fertilizer complementary liquid with a concentration treatment 3 ml/l water results the highest growth ib the medium of oil palm seedlings to copy from the age of 3 months to 6 months. Keywords :Oil Palm Seedlings, Saline Soils, Fertilizers Liquid Complementary Bayfolan

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect and the best dose application of vermicompost on the growth of the cocoa plant seeds. The research was conducted at the experimental field of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Tampan District, Pekanbaru. From May until August 2016. This study was conducted using a completely randomized design (RAL) non factorial with 6 treatments and three replications, in order to obtain 18 units of trial. Each experimental unit consisted of 3 seeds, so there are 54 seedlings. Parameters measured were seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, the ratio of the canopy and root dry weight. Data were analyzed statistically using analysis of variance followed by fishers LSD test at level of 5%. The results showed that the dosing vermicompost fertilizer can improve seedling height, number of leaves, stem diameter, leaf area, dry weight and ratio of cacao seedling roots header. Vermicompost fertilizer dose of 10 ton / ha produced the highest growth in cocoa breeding. Keywords: cocoa, vermicompost

Abstract

The use of strawberry cultivation land is limited in the highlands, it is necessary to develop the adaptation of strawberry plants to lowland cultivation areas, especially in Riau. The research was purpose to study the effect of shade and liquid organic fertilizer concentration on growth and yield of strawberries in lowland. The research was conducted using a Split Plot Design, with the shading as main plots (shade 0%, 50% and 75%) and  giving liquid organic fertilizer concentration as  subplots (0 ml/l, 2,5 ml/l, 5 ml/l dan 7,5 ml/l).  Observed variable is the number of plant height and leaf, flowering age, number of flowers, number of fruits, total fruits weight. The data were analyzed by anova and descriptive analyse, than followed by Duncan’s multiple range test at 5% level. The result of this study represent that was significant different of shade on the number of plant heigh and leaf, but its no complete data on the flowering age, number of flowers, number of fruits, total fruits weight. The best treatment for growth of strawberries is shade as 50% and liquid organic fertilizer concentration as 7,5 ml/l of water.Keywords: strawberry, adaptation, shade, liquid organic fertilizer

Abstract

                This study aimed to determine the effect of the use of some of the embedding medium and the volume of water provision and get the best combination for growth and pakcoy crop is cultivated with vertikultur system. This research has been conducted in the greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru, for 4 months from April to July 2017, This study uses a randomized block design (RAK) factorial. The first factor was embedding medium consisting of 3 levels, Medium base: rice husk ash: sawdust ash M1=1:0:0, M2=1:1:0, M3=1:0:1 The second factor was the volume of water consists of 5 levels, V1=100 ml,V2=150 ml, V3=200 ml, V4=250 ml, V5 =300 ml/day. Parameters those observed were: plant height, leaf number, root volume, fresh weight and marketable crop for consumption. The results of further analysis of variance using Duncan's multiple range test at the 5 % level. Interaction of planting medium composition and the water volume did not  give significant effect on plant height, leaf number, root volume, fresh weight and the weight of the marketable plant for consumption. Marketable crop for consumption very strongly positively correlated with plant height and fresh weight as well as being correlated with the number of leaves. Keywords: Pakcoy, Medium planting, Water volume, Vertikultur.

Abstract

The purpose of this study the interaction KKBK with NPK and determined the best treatment for growing of twin sprouts oil palm seedlings  (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) in the subsoil ultisol medium. Research conducted at the Laboratory of Plant Experimental Farm, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The study was conducted four months from February to May 2016, carried out with completely randomized design (CRD) factorial comprises two factors and 3 replications. KKBK first factor (K) comprises 4 levels : K0 = without KKBK, K1 = KKBK 12.5 tonnes/ha or 50 g/plant, K2 = KKBK 25 tonnes/ha or 100 g/plant, K3 = 37.5 tonnes KKBK/ha or 150 g/plant. The second factor NPK (P) comprises 4 levels : P0 = ¼ dose of 0.1125 tonnes/ha or 6.25 g/plant, P1 = ½ dose of 0.225 tonnes/ha or 12.5 g/plant, P2 = ¾ doses of 0.3375 tonnes/ha or 18.75 g/plant, P3 = 1 dose of 0.45 tonnes/ha or 25 g/plant. Each unit contains 2 plant samples. The parameters those observed were plant height, leaf number, stump diameter, root volume, seedlings fresh weight ,seedling dry weight, fresh and  dry weight of  shoot and roots. Data were analyzed with analysis of  variance and  Honestly Significant Difference (HSD) of 5%. The results showed interaction of KKBK 150 g/plant and NPK 25 g/plant in the nursery generate the highest of all the parameters compared to other treatments. Keywords : Compost of Cocoa Fruit skin (KKBK), NPK Fertilizer, Oil Palm Seedlings, Ultisol Subsoil.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the influence and best treatment of cocoa fruit skin compost on the growth of hybrid cocoa seeds. This research was conducted in Experimental Garden of Agriculture Faculty of Universitas Riau, Bina Widya Campus, Simpang Baru Village, Tampan Sub District, Pekanbaru. This research was conducted for 4 months starting from April to August 2016. The experiment was conducted experimentally using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) consisting of 6 treatments: K0 (without compost), K1 (12.5 g), K2 (25 g), K3 (37.5 g), K4 (50 g), and K5 (62.5 g) cocoa peel compost per polybag and repeated 3 times, to obtain 18 units of experiment. Each unit of experiment consists of 2 plants and at the same time made the sample so that there are 36 plants. Parameters observed were number of leaves, plant height, leaf area, stem circumference, and root canopy ratio. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) and continued with Duncans New Multiple Range Test (DNMRT) at 5% level. The results showed that the giving of cocoa leaf compost gave a real effect on the growth of plant height, leaf area, and stem circumference. Provision of 12.5 g / polybag cocoa leaf compost is the best treatment on plant height parameters, leaf area, and stem circumference. Keywords :Theobroma cacao L, compost, nursery.
