Abstract

Ultisols have low soil fertility problems. Beneficial microbes such as biofertilizers could improve soil fertility and the productivity of Ultisols sustainability.  The purpose of this research was to study the contribution of biofertilizers and NPK fertilizers to increase growth and yield of upland rice on Utisols. This experiment used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) in factorial pattern, consisting of  two factors with three replications. The first factor consisted of biofertilizer, which were ; without biofertilizer, biofertilizer consortia A (Pseudomonas mallei, P. cepaceae, Aspergillus niger and Penicillium sp., Azotobacter  chroococum, Azospirillum sp.) biofertilizer consortia B (Azotobacter choroococum, A. viilandii, Azospirillum, Pseudomonas cepaceae, Penicillium and Acitenobacter) and biofertizer consortia A+B. The second factor were NPK fertilizers with four levels ( 100%, 75%, 50% and 25% dosage of recomendation). The results showed that the application of  biofertilizer consortia increased growth of upland rice on Ultisols Jatinangor

Abstract

Mikroba pelarut fosfat (MPF) berperan penting dalam mobilisasi fosfor tanah dan selanjutnya memfasilitasi penyerapannya oleh akar tanaman. Penelitian rumah kaca telah dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh mikroba pelarut fosfat dan pupuk P terhadap P tersedia, aktivitas fosfatase, populasi mikroba pelarut fosfat, dan konsentrasi P tanaman serta hasil tanaman padi gogo (Oryza sativa L.) yang ditanam pada Ultisols Jatinangor. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok pola faktorial yang terdiri atas dua faktor yaitu jenis inokulan MPF dan dosis pupuk fosfat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat interaksi antara isolat mikroba pelarut fosfat dengan dosis pupuk P terhadap semua parameter penelitian. Namun inokulasi campuran Pseudomonas sp. dan Penicillium sp. mampu meningkatkan aktivitas fosfatase,  konsentrasi P tajuk hingga 19,23 % dan bobot gabah kering giling (GKG) padi gogo hingga 29,03 %. Aplikasi 75 kg P2O5 ha-1 mampu meningkatkan P tersedia hingga 20,66 % dan bobot GKG  hingga 15,23 % dibandingkan kontrol.

Abstract

Pemberian yang ekstensif bahan-bahan kimia terhadap tanah dan tanaman akan menyebabkan terjadinya penurunan produktivitas lahan yang selanjutnya menurunkan produksi tanaman. Salah satu upaya pemulihan lahan secara berkelanjutan dengan menerapkan sistem pertanian organik antara lain dengan pemberian pupuk organik yang berbahan dasar dari limbah pertanian dan sampah rumah tangga yang banyak tersedia di wilayah namun masyarakat belum memanfaatan secara optimal. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Desa Sumber Sari Kecamatan Ciparay ini memberikan informasi dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan dalam bentuk ceramah, praktek pembuatan pupuk organik dan hayati serta praktek lapangan (demplot tentang menerapkan system pertanian organik untuk meningkatkan dan mempertahankan kualitas tanah dengan memanfaatkan input lokal dengan biaya yang relatif murah dan praktis. Selain itu, penerapan sistem pertanian organik dengan memanfaakan limbah pertanian dapat meningkatkan produksi tanaman serta mengurangi ketergantungan pada pupuk buatan dan biaya subsidi pupuk yang terus meningkat. Percobaan lapangan sebagai demplot terdiri atas tiga perlakuan yaitu budidaya padi sawah varietas Ciherang yaitu sistem organik (100% organik); semi organik (50% anorganik + 50% organik) dan cara konvensional (100% anorganik). Hasil panen padi sawah pada demplot ini menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan semi organik memberikan hasil panen (berat gabah) tertinggi dibandingkan perlakuan organik dan konvensional (100% anorganik)

Abstract

Upaya meningkatkan produksi padi secara berkelanjutan dan mengurangi kebutuhan pupuk anorganik dapat dilakukan dengan pemanfaatan sumber daya hayati yang potensial untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan tanaman. Mikroorganisme lokal atau MOL merupakan salah satu alternatif yang dapat digunakan  masyarakat atau petani  untuk mengurangi kebutuhan pupuk anorganik dengan memanfaatkan limbah yang teredia serta untuk menerapkan sistem pertanian yang berkelanjutan. Tujuan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di Desa Cileles Kecamatan Jatinangor ini memberikan pemahaman dan keterampilan kepada masyarakat melalui penyuluhan, praktek pembuatan  MOL serta praktek lapangan (demplot aplikasi MOL pada tanaman padi).  Percobaan lapangan sebagai demplot terdiri atas empat petak percobaan pada tanaman padi gogo  varietas Luhur yaitu perlakuan : (1) aplikasi MOL, (2) kombinasi MOL dan NPK 75% dosis rekomendasi, dan (3)  NPK dosis 100% rekomendasi. Hasil percobaan menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan kombinasi MOL dan NPK 75% dosis rekomendasi memberikan pengaruh terbaik terhadap pertumbuhan padi yaitu tinggi tanaman dan jumlah anakan dan hasil padi dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya

Abstract

This study was aimed at determining the effect of ramie, ramie compost and types of inoculants on the efficiency of hydrocarbon degradation, total fungi population, and ramie height. The study was conducted using factorial RAK with 2 factors. The calculation of the total population of Aspergillus niger was done using the total plate count (TPC) method, while the measurement of total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) levels used the gravimetric method. The experiment was conducted at the Greenhouse of the Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, Jatinangor, West Java with an altitude of 822 meters above sea level. Soil analysis was carried out at the Soil Fertility and Plant Nutrition Laboratory and the Soil Biology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University. The experiment was conducted from November 2017 to February 2018. The results of the study do not show an interaction between inoculants and ramie compost on the efficiency of degradation, total fungi population and ramie height in the phytoremediation process of petroleum waste. The results also showed that there was no best type of inoculant and ramie compost dose for degradation efficiency, total fungi population and ramie height in phytoremediation of petroleum waste.PENGARUH INOKULAN DAN KOMPOS RAMI TERHADAP EFISIENSI DEGRADASI HIDROKARBON, POPULASI TOTAL FUNGI DAN TINGGI RAMI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh rami, kompos rami, dan jenis inokulan terhadap efisiensi degradasi hidrokarbon, populasi total fungi dan tinggi tanaman rami. Penelitian dilakukan dengan menggunakan RAK faktorial dengan 2 Faktor. Perhitungan populasi total Aspergillus niger dilakukan dengan menggunakan metode total plate count (TPC), sedangkan pengukuran kadar total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH) menggunakan metode gravimetri. Percobaan dilaksanakan di Rumah Kaca Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran Jatinangor, Kabupaten Sumedang, Provinsi Jawa Barat dengan ketinggian 822 mdpl. Analisis tanah dilakukan di Laboratorium Kesuburan Tanah dan Nutrisi Tanaman dan Laboratorium Biologi Tanah Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran. Percobaan dilaksanakan dari bulan November 2017 sampai dengan bulan Februari 2018. Hasil penelitian tidak menunjukkan adanya interaksi antara inokulan dan kompos rami terhadap efisiensi degradasi, populasi total fungi dan tinggi tanaman rami pada proses fitoremediasi limbah minyak bumi, serta tidak diperoleh jenis inokulan dan dosis kompos rami terbaik terhadap efisiensi degradasi, populasi total fungi, dan tinggi tanaman rami pada fitoremediasi limbah minyak bumi.

Abstract

Salinization of soil in coastal area is a serious problem and is increasing steadly. Application biofertilizer consortium is able to improve productivity of rice crops (Oryza sativa L.) grown in saline soils. Biofertilizer supplies nutrients and phytohormones that are beneficial for plant. The aim of this research was to find combination effects of biofertilizer consortium on population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and dry weight of paddy grown in several level of salinity. This research was conducted from December 2016 until February 2017 at greenhouse of Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran with altitude 752 meters above sea levels. This research used Randomized Completely Block Design with single factor experiment which consisted of eight combinations of biofertilizer (Azotobacter sp., Azospirillum sp., endophytic bacteria, PSB, and AMF) and salinity with four replications: A (non saline 0 mmhos cm-1), B (non saline of 0 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer), C (salinity of 2 mmhos cm-1), D (salinity of 2 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer), E (salinity of 4 mmhos cm-1), F (salinity of 4 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer), G (salinity of 6 mmhos cm-1), H (salinity of 6 mmhos cm-1+ biofertilizer). The result showed that at salinity level of 2-4 mmhos cm-1 the crops still survived growing under salinity stress. Salinity treatment of 2 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer significantly affected popuation of phosphate solubilizing bacteria and salinity treatment of 4 mmhos cm-1 + biofertilizer significantly affected dry weight of rice.Keyword: Biofertilizer, Dry weight of rice, Paddy (Oryza sativa L.), Population of phosphate solubilizing bacteria, Saline soils

Abstract

Biofertilizers and Azolla are local potentials sources that can be used for inorganic fertilizers efficiency in increasing crop yields. The purpose of this study was to determine the dose of inorganic fertilizers that can be reduced by the application of biofertilizers and Azolla in lowland rice plants. The aims of study was to determine the increase in N plants, N soil, available P, P uptake, C organic, and the yield of lowland rice. The experiment was carried out at the Experimental Field, Ciparanje, Faculty of Agriculture, Padjadjaran University, in Jatinangor. The treatment in this experiment were A = without the use of fertilizer, B = NPK 100% Fertilizer of recommended dosage, C = 0% NPK + Biofertilizer + Azolla, D = 25% NPK + Biofertilizer + Azolla, E = 50% NPK + Biofertilizer + Azolla, and F = 75% NPK + Biofertilizer + Azolla. The study design used was a Randomized Block Design with four replications. The results showed that biofertilizer and Azolla combined with inorganic fertilizers can enhance total N soil, N plants, P available soil, P uptake of plants, and C organic soil. Application 50% NPK + Azolla + biofertilizer could increased Milled Dry Grain by 10.82% compared to the recommended dosage of inorganic fertilizer (100% NPK) and caould decrease the use of inorganic fertilizer by 50%.

Abstract

Biofertilizer and organic ameliorant can be used alternative material to increase sustainable soil fertility  and yield for agricultur. This study aimed to investigate the effect of application biofertilizer consortium and organic ameliorant on chemical and biological character of soil and yield of rice in Inceptisols. The experiment was conducted in experimental field of Agriculture Faculty Universitas Padjadjaran from June until October 2017. Experimental design used a randomized block design of single faktor with twelve treatments and three replications. The treatments consist of control, solid biofertilizer, liquid biofertilizer, combination solid biofertilizer with organic amelioran (straw compost, charcoal husk and cow manure), liquid biofertilizer with organic amelioran, and organic amelioran independen. The result showed that biofertilizer consortium and organic ameliorant has significant effect on N soil and growth of rice. Solid biofertilizer and straw compost was the best treatment increase N soil.In general, biofertilizer consortium and organic ameliorant gave a significant influence for soil chemical and growth of rice. Key words: Biofertilizer, organic ameliorant, N soil and growth of rice.

Abstract

Organochlorine insecticide was banned for agriculture but nowadays its residue was still found  in some agricultural soil. One of ways to lowering organochlorine residue in soil is by used of degrading-organochlorine microbial consortia accompanied with compost application. However, application of exogenous microbes might affect bacterial and fungal population in soil. The pot experiment has been set up to verify the influence of Pseudomonas mallei and Trichoderma sp. and compost on total bacteria and fungi on rhizosphere of Cai Sim (Brassica juncea L.) grown on Andisols which were contaminated with organochlorine insecticide of heptachlor, endosulfan, dieldrin and DDT. Experimental design was Factorial Randomized Block Design with three replicates. The first factor was microbial consortia of P.mallei and Trichoderma sp., and the second one was kind of compost. The result showed that effect of microbial consortia on total bacteria population was determined by kind of compost. Total bacterial population in rhizosphere of Cai Sim grown with cow manure compost and microbial consortia was more increased.  However, microbial consortia as well as any kind of compost did not influence total fungal population in Cai Sim rhizosphere. In this experiment, total bacterial and fungal population in rhizosphere reached 109 cfu g-1 and  104 cfu g-1 respectively, indicating that major microbial population in rhizosphere was  in the normal range.

Abstract

Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria Pseudomonas and Bacillus are well known biofertilizer due to their ability for solubilizing inorganic phosphate and producing phytohormones in soil. However, their potential to decreased diseases incidence caused by Pratylenchus coffeae has been documented. The objective of this laboratory experiment was to formulate solid biofertilizer contained Pseudomonas diminuta and Bacillus subtilis. The laboratory experiments consisted of three-step experiment: 1) selection of the molasses-based liquid media for P. diminuta and B. subtilis growth, 2) organic liquid inoculant formulation and 3) organic carrier-based inoculant formulation. The population of both bacteria in all steps was count by serial dilution plate method with specific medium. The result verifeid that cell density of P. diminuta and B. subtilis in liquid culture with 2% molasses were higher than cell count in the culture contained 4% molasses. Bagasse-based carrier inoculated with liquid culture of mixed bacteria has higher bacterial count compared to manure-based carrier. After 90-day incubation, bagasse-based solid inoculant maintained P. diminuta and B. subtilis density up to 108 CFU/mL and the acidity of solid inculaant was about neutral. The bacterial count and acidity of solid inoculant agreed with Indonesian standard for solid biofertilizer
