Abstract

Abstract: Many students still face difficulties in writing short stories, especially in terms of developing ideas, plot, language, and imagination. This emphasizes the importance of implementing learning methods that support the creative writing process. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the experiential learning method, the effect of the EGP method (Emotional, Fast Action, and Revision), and the differences in the effects of both on the short story writing skills of class VIII students of SMPN 16 South Tangerang City. This research with a quantitative approach uses an experimental method with a Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The research sample was conducted using the Purposive Sampling technique, namely class VIII C as the experimental class and VIII D as the control class. Data were obtained from the results of the pretest and posttest of short story writing skills and through statistical calculations with the help of SPSS version 25. The results of the t-test showed that the significance of the experiential learning method and the EGP method were both 0.000 <0.05 so that Ha was accepted and Ho was rejected. There was an increase in the average pretest and posttest results in the experiential learning method of 16.17 points while in the EGP method it was 10.63 points. This shows that the experiential learning method is superior to the EGP method (Emotional, Fast Action, and Revision) in improving the short story writing skills of class VIII students of SMPN 16 South Tangerang City. Abstract

This research is motivated by the tendency of teenagers to use slang language on social media X, leading to the emergence of new vocabulary. The use of slang on social media ultimately results in a low understanding of formal language, correct language structures, and misinterpretation of meanings. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to describe the forms and meanings of slang vocabulary within the Full Senyum Community on X. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative, employing observation, note-taking, and documentation techniques for data collection. The results of the data analysis reveal five forms of slang vocabulary: basic word forms, derived word forms, acronym forms, abbreviation forms, and reduplication forms. In addition to these forms, the analysis also identifies four types of slang word meanings: general meanings, reduction meanings, denotative meanings, and connotative meanings. The findings of this research have implications for Indonesian language learning in high schools. It emphasizes the need for a pedagogical approach that integrates the phenomenon of slang to enhance students' linguistic awareness and their formal and informal language skills. Furthermore, incorporating slang language as teaching material can make learning more engaging and relevant to students' lives.

Abstract

Kemampuan dua bahasa perlu diimbangi dengan pemahaman analisis kontrastif untuk menghindari terjadinya kesalahan (interferensi). Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu, (1) mendeskripsikan bentuk analisis kontrastif bahasa Minangkabau dan bahasa Indonesia dalam proses afiksasi, (2) mendeskripsikan bentuk analisis kontrastif bahasa Minangkabau dan bahasa Indonesia dalam proses reduplikasi, dan (3) menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP) bahasa Indonesia di SMA. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data kepustakaan dan wawancara terencana-terstruktur, serta teknik pemeriksaan keabsahan data yaitu triangulasi penyidik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan ada 49 data yang terdiri dari 7 afiksasi bahasa Minangkabau, 4 afiksasi bahasa Indonesia, 16 reduplikasi bahasa Minangkabau, dan 22 reduplikasi bahasa Indonesia, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat persamaan dan perbedaan antara bahasa Minangkabau dan bahasa Indonesia dalam proses afiksasi dan reduplikasi yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia di SMA, khususnya pelajaran teks debat di kelas X dengan Kompetensi Dasar (KD) 4.12 Mengembangkan isi teks debat berkaitan dengan bidang pekerjaan secara lisan dan tulis.

Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the functions and meanings contained in the traditional expression of the text of the Saweran wedding ceremony in Kadu Gedong Village, Pandeglang, Banten. The text studied is the kawih text, which will be analyzed with a semantic approach. The values of character education are also important points in this study, such as religious values, honesty, and tolerance in order to advance a person's basic potential to behave well and think positively, as well as develop the behavior of the nation's multicultural children. Furthermore, the results of the analysis of the narration of symbols and meanings in the Saweran text at the wedding ceremony in Kadu Gedong Village will be associated with existing competencies in junior high school, then a literary module, especially poetry learning, will be made. The results of the analysis show that first, the text of kawih saweran marriage has a function as a mandate to the bride and groom, and becomes a provision in the household, as well as a form of joy carried out by the two couples. Second, it has an inherent meaning, such as lexical meaning, direct meaning, figurative meaning, grammatical meaning, and cultural meaning. Third, it has character education values that are in accordance with the VII grade VII Junior High School learning implementation plan.
