Abstract

This study aims to describe the effectiveness of prone intervention in cases of post-CARDS/COVID-19 Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome who are mechanically ventilated. This type of research is research with a case study approach. The results showed that after the intervention was given in the prone position in patients with post CARDS/Covid-19 Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome who had mechanical ventilation installed, there was an increase in oxygen saturation values and also to prevent secondary injuries that could worsen the condition of the lungs and other organs. In conclusion, prone position performed as early as possible will be better and provide a significant improvement effect on the respiratory system. Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference in blood pressure to the effect of the pressure test. This research method is a systematic review accessed from internet search databases: Scopus, Pro-quest, Willey, Sage Journal, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The study of 9 research articles showed that there were articles that did not have much effect on the Cold Pressure Test (CPT) on blood pressure. All pieces have the same research method, namely Experiment. In conclusion, most studies say that blood pressure affects the stimulation of the sympathetic nerves by performing a Cold Pressure Test (CPT). Abstract

This study aims to determine the effective breathing exercise technique on respiratory function in post-abdominal surgery patients. This research design is a literature study using the search engines Science Direct, EBSCO, Wiley Online, and Clinical Key. The results showed similarities in the interventions applied, namely breathing exercises with various techniques such as deep breathing exercise, coughing activity, balloon blowing exercise, pursed lip exercise, diaphragm breathing exercise, inspiratory muscle exercise, and incentive spirometer volume and flow control exercise. The intervention was performed with a duration of 10 minutes within five days preoperatively and postoperatively. In conclusion, preoperative breathing exercises can improve lung function performance and reduce the risk of postoperative pulmonary complications. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of complementary therapy on the basic needs of patients undergoing hemodialysis, especially patients who experience common health problems in patients undergoing hemodialysis, such as anxiety, pain, quality of life, and quality of sleep in patients. The research method used is a systematic review. The results showed that the reduced need for sleep and rest in CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis could be overcome by providing interventions such as listening to music. The need to protect oneself from pain can be recommended by laughter therapy. The need to express emotions and overcome fears can be overcome by providing aromatherapy. In conclusion, the need for CKD patients to move and maintain posture can be met by providing massage therapy to the upper and lower extremities. Keywords: CKD, HD, Complementary Therapy

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the effects of non-pharmacological interventions in diabetes mellitus patients with sleep disturbances. The research method used was a systematic review with a randomized controlled trial (RCT) and quasi-experimental design. Article searches used five databases, Scopus, Proquest, ScienceDirect, Pubmed, and EbscoHost, published from January 2018 to December 2022. The results showed that eight articles met the criteria. Non-pharmacological interventions given to diabetes mellitus patients with sleep disorders include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), aromatherapy, personalized intervention, and nutritional therapy. Most studies report that non-pharmacological interventions can improve sleep quality in diabetes mellitus patients with sleep disorders. CBT therapy is the recommended therapy that is more effective. In conclusion, non-pharmacological interventions can be used as a companion or substitute therapy to improve sleep quality in patients with diabetes mellitus who experience sleep disturbances. Abstract

Background: One of the psychological aspects caused by surgery is anxiety. This is very important because it is related to the success of the surgery. So it is necessary to have non-pharmacological interventions that can be applied to reduce the level of patient anxiety using virtual reality. Purpose: To provide an overview of the effectiveness of virtual reality interventions in reducing anxiety levels in heart surgery patients. Method: The research design is a systematic review. Researchers used PICO and searched for articles related to virtual reality interventions in heart surgery patients. The databases used were Taylor & Francis, Springer Link, Science Direct, Scopus and Sage Journal. Researchers used the JBI tool to evaluate the articles. Results: Of the eight articles, seven articles discussed the effectiveness of virtual reality in patients undergoing heart surgery and one article compared virtual reality with other therapies. Conclusion: Virtual reality intervention is quite effective in reducing the anxiety levels of patients undergoing heart surgery and after the procedure.   Keywords: Anxiety; Heart; Surgery; Virtual Reality.

Abstract

Breast cancer is the second most prevalent type of cancer and one of the leading causes of mortality. Efforts to reduce mortality rates can be achieved by empowering patients to manage symptoms caused by cancer and the side effects of treatment therapies. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of empowerment education in increasing self-efficacy in breast cancer patients. The study employed a systematic review of eight articles sourced from various databases, including ProQuest, SpringerLink, ScienceDirect, Sage Journal, Google Scholar, and PubMed. A total of 8,693 articles were retrieved from seven databases. After screening based on inclusion criteria, 638 articles were deemed eligible. Based on the selection of titles, abstracts, and full texts, 22 articles were chosen, and after duplicate elimination, 10 articles were analyzed using the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI) quality assessment tool. The analysis results indicated that the empowerment approach is effective in improving self-efficacy and quality of life in breast cancer patients. By utilizing empowerment education, healthcare professionals can provide holistic support to patients, improve therapeutic outcomes, and reduce breast cancer mortality rates. This study recommended the integration of empowerment education as an essential component of breast cancer management in various healthcare facilities.
