Abstract

This type of research is qualitative using a qualitative descriptive approach. The focus of this research is romance in the novel Serangkai by Valerie Patkar. The aim of this research is to describe the romance contained in the novel Serangkai by Valerie Patkar. The object of this research is the novel Serangkai by Valerie Patkar. The instrument used in this research was the researcher himself because the researcher collected, analyzed and concluded the data. The data collection techniques in this research used listening techniques and note-taking techniques. The data source in this research is the novel Serangkai by Valerie Patkar, and the data in this research are words or sentences, either narrative or dialogue, in the novel that contain romance in the novel Serangkai by Valerie Patkar. The results of this research found that romanticism in literary works consists of seven feelings of romantic emotion, namely the concept of guilt, buried guilt, self-punishment, shame, sadness, hatred and love

Abstract

The song belongs to the literary genre in which poets and writers have used words to convey their emotions. These heartfelt declarations and the lyrics' commentary on duties and love between humans represent culture in day-to-day living. Toba batak songs from the dorman bead feat rany symbolon album many contain cultural values. This study used a qualitative, descriptive methodology that made use of textual content. The data completed in this study consists of data obtained from the quotes from the fi fi album dorman manik feat rany symbolic. Based on the results of research, it can be summed up in ten songs in almeans dorman manik feat rany symbolon discovered cultural values (a) cultural values in human relations with god (b) cultural values in human relations with nature. (c) cultural values in human relationships with society (d) cultural values in human relationships with other humans (e) cultural values in man's relationship with himself

Abstract

This research aims to describe the accuracy of word choice or diction in Denny Sumargo's podcast. The method in this research is a qualitative descriptive method. The data source in this research is Denny Sumargo's podcast in December 2022-January 2023. The data collection technique for this research is using document techniques. The instrument used in this research is a human instrument, namely the researcher himself, with his knowledge, collects data based on understood criteria regarding word choice or diction contained in Denny Sumargo's podcast. The results of this research prove that there is the use of words with denotative and connotative meaning, the use of words with synonymous meaning, the use of euphemisms, the use of words with generic and specific meaning, and the use of words with concrete and abstract meaning.
