Abstract

As humans age, there are physiological changes that reduce the elasticity of blood vessel walls, which can cause increased blood pressure. In addition, unhealthy lifestyles can also cause high blood pressure. For example, lack of physical activity, stress, and poor eating habits are factors that increase the incidence of high blood pressure. Individuals aged 45-59 years (pre-elderly) need to prepare themselves to carry out self-care in order to face the emergence of hypertension. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of audiovisual education on the level of knowledge of pre-elderly about healthy lifestyle to prevent hypertension. The research design One-group Pretest-posttest was conducted on 30 pre-elderly respondents in Samarinda City. Data collection on respondent characteristics and level of knowledge about lifestyle used a structured questionnaire. The results showed that the characteristics of pre-elderly respondents based on an average age of 52 years, while the average systolic blood pressure was 131.07 mmHg and diastolic was 84.07 mmHg. The results of statistical analysis showed that there was significant difference in the average knowledge score of respondents between before being given education (6.27) and after being given audiovisual education (7.60). The statistical test results using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test obtained a p-value of 0.001 (<0.05). This indicates that audiovisual education can effectively increase pre-elderly knowledge about healthy lifestyle to prevent hypertension.

Abstract

Didapatkan ada hubungan antara perawatan diri pasien DM tipe 2 dengan kadar glukosa darahnya dengan nilai p= 0,00.Kesimpulan: Perawatan diri merupakan faktor yang berperan penting dalam mengendalikan kadar glukosa darah pada penderita DM tipe 2.Kata Kunci: Diabetes Melitus, Glukosa darah, Perawatan diri Background: Self-care for people with Diabetes Mellitus (DM) is an important thing to do to control blood glucose levels. This self-care includes regular monitoring of blood glucose, increasing physical activity, and foot care. It is hoped that routine self-care can improve the quality of life of DM patients and prevent complications in patients. The research aimed to determine the relationship between self-care in DM sufferers and blood glucose levels.Method: Quantitative research with a Cross-sectional study approach was conducted with data collected using the SDSCA (Summary of diabetes self-care activities) questionnaire. A purposive sampling technique was used for sample selection so that 190 respondents were selected based on inclusion criteria, namely those with type 2 DM. The study was conducted in the work area of Trauma Center Health Care of Samarinda in October–November 2022. Data were analyzed using the Chi-square test to identify the relationship between self-care and blood sugar levels in type 2 DM patients. Results: The proportion of patients with good self-care was 51.10% and poor self-care was 48.90%. It was found that most respondents (61.10%) had uncontrolled blood glucose levels. It was found that there was a relationship between the self-care of type 2 DM patients and their blood glucose levels with a value of p = 0.00.Conclusion: Self-care was an important factor in controlling blood glucose levels in people with type 2 DM.Keywords: Blood glucose, Diabetes mellitus, Self-care

Abstract

Preeclampsia is a major pregnancy complication that substantially contributes to maternal morbidity and mortality worldwide, making early identification of risk factors essential for effective prevention and timely clinical intervention. This study evaluates the performance of ensemble learning models by comparing bagging and boosting techniques to develop an accurate early prediction system for preeclampsia risk using clinical medical record data. The research follows the Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM) framework, encompassing data understanding, data preparation, modeling, evaluation, and interpretation. The dataset was obtained from RSUD Inche Abdoel Moeis Samarinda and underwent preprocessing procedures, including data cleaning, transformation, feature encoding, normalization, and Synthetic Minority Over-sampling Technique (SMOTE) to address class imbalance. Six ensemble learning algorithms were evaluated, consisting of Random Forest, Extra Trees, and Rotation Forest as bagging methods, and XGBoost, LightGBM, and CatBoost as boosting methods. Model performance was assessed using accuracy, precision, recall, and weighted F1-score. The experimental results demonstrate that Random Forest achieved the highest predictive performance, with an accuracy of 0.92, precision of 0.93, recall of 0.92, and weighted F1-score of 0.91, indicating superior robustness and generalization capability. Extra Trees achieved comparable accuracy (0.92) but exhibited lower prediction stability across evaluation metrics. Among the boosting algorithms, LightGBM and CatBoost each obtained an accuracy of 0.89, while XGBoost achieved 0.88. Rotation Forest recorded the lowest accuracy (0.62), suggesting limited suitability for this clinical dataset. These findings indicate that bagging-based ensemble methods, particularly Random Forest, outperform boosting techniques for imbalanced clinical data and provide strong empirical support for developing reliable Clinical Decision Support Systems (CDSS) for early preeclampsia screening and risk assessment in healthcare settings

Abstract

Auditory hallucinations are a common positive symptom of schizophrenia that can impair psychosocial functioning and increase the risk of aggressive behavior. Drawing-based occupational therapy has been proposed as a simple nonpharmacological intervention to help patients manage hallucinations. This study evaluated the implementation of drawing-based occupational therapy in reducing the severity of auditory hallucinations in a client with schizophrenia using a psychiatric nursing care approach. A single-case study was conducted involving one client diagnosed with schizophrenia and auditory hallucinations. The intervention was delivered in six sessions over three days. Outcomes were assessed using the Auditory Hallucination Rating Scale (AHRS) and clinical observation before and after the intervention. The AHRS score decreased from 30 (severe) before the intervention to 25 on the second day and 23 on the third day, indicating reduced hallucination severity. The client also showed improved concentration, greater participation in therapy, and better control of auditory hallucinations during drawing sessions. These findings suggest that drawing-based occupational therapy may be a useful supportive intervention in psychiatric nursing care, although further studies with larger samples are needed
