Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the implementation of the Music Corps (Korsik) at the Flag Ceremony at Tamansiswa Padang High School. The type of research used is qualitative research with descriptive analysis methods. The types of data used to examine the object are primary data and secondary data. The techniques used in data collection are literature study, observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis techniques by identifying, clarifying, and concluding data. The results of the study showed that there were still obstacles and obstacles during the corps music practice and there were still students who were not present when the ceremony started, besides that the corps musical instruments at school were inadequate so that the training process and during the corps implementation were slightly hampered. The implementation of the flag ceremony music corps at Tamansiswa Padang High School was carried out through several stages during the training, namely the trainer prepared the material to be taught to students. The main purpose of holding a music corps at Tamansiswa High School is to accompany the music during the flag ceremony on the Tamansiswa campus. Tamansiswa Padang High School is entrusted with accompanying the music for the flag ceremony. The Principal of SMA Tamansiswa Padang provided music facilities for SMA Tamansiswa Padang students and an arts and culture teacher as well as a coach, immediately made a music corps training schedule with the aim of carrying out the performance of the Flag Ceremony Music Corps.

Abstract

This research aims to describe how demonstration and drill methods are applied in the drum band extracurricular activity process at UNP Laboratory Development High School. This type of research is qualitative research that uses descriptive methods. The instrument for this research was the researcher himself and was assisted by supporting instruments such as stationery, camera and voice recorder. Data collection techniques in this research are observation, interviews, documentation and literature study. The technical steps of data analysis are collecting data, identifying data and drawing conclusions. The results of research on the application of demonstration and drill methods to extracurricular drum band at the UNP Development Laboratory High School show a significant increase in the technical skills and harmony of students who are members of the extracurricular drum band. The demonstration method proved effective in explaining basic techniques and fostering initial understanding, although some students required repeat demonstrations for more complex techniques. Repeated use of drills increases consistency and precision of play, although some students require additional practice to achieve consistency in advanced techniques. Overall, students were satisfied with the training methods applied, but students wanted more variety in training to maintain their motivation and interest.

Abstract

This article discusses the continuity and change of gandang sarunai music performances in socio-cultural activities of the Alam Surambi Sungai Pagu community, South Solok, West Sumatra. The data were derived from the results of research compiled based on qualitative methods, utilizing literature study techniques, observation, interviews, and documentation techniques. The results of the study show that there has been a change in the performance of gandang sarunai music both in terms of venue and in terms of musical aspects of gandang sarunai nowadays. While the continuity of music is maintained, even when compared to the performances of gandang sarunai music during the time of Raja Alam of Surambi Sungai Pagu led the region administratively; gandang sarunai music has been used by all levels of society in their various socio-cultural activities nowadays. In the past, gandang sarunai music was only shown by and for the King's family. Nowadays, gandang sarunai music is used not only in the royal family's environment. Most people have also used gandang sarunai music in their various socio-cultural activities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang Pelaksanaan Ektrakurikuler Tambua Tansa Di Sman 1 Lubuk Basung, Kabupaten Agam. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif yang menggunakan metode deskriptif. Objek penelitian ini adalah Ekstrakuriuler Tambua Tansa di SMAN 1 Lubuk Basung Kabupaten Agam. Instrument penelitian ini adalah penulis sendiri dan dibantu dengan instrumen pendukung seperti alat tulis, laptop dan handphone. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan cara observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pada hasil penelitian penulis menyimpulkan bahwa Penyajian kesenian Tambua Tansa digunakan sebagai musik penyambutan pada saat acara perpisahan atau acara-acara yang lainnya. Penyajian Tambua Tansa ini adalah dimainkan dengan cara di pukul, dengan posisi pemain berdiri, dan membentuk pola barisan yang menarik seperti membentuk lingkaran atau berbaris secara memanjang dan menyerong. Penyajian tambua tansa berhasil di tampilkan pada saat acara perpisahan sekolah, walaupun pemain tambua belajar secara mandiri dengan melihat video yang ditayangkan melalui youtube dan lainnya.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi pembelajaran alat musik ritmis berbasis Kurikulum Merdeka di SMK Negeri 7 Padang, yang merupakan institusi pendidikan seni pertunjukan dengan latar belakang budaya Minangkabau. Latar belakang permasalahan mencakup rendahnya penguasaan materi dan keterlibatan siswa dalam proses pembelajaran. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif analitik, di mana peneliti melakukan observasi selama empat pertemuan untuk mendeskripsikan fenomena yang terjadi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun siswa menunjukkan antusiasme yang bervariasi, banyak dari mereka masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami teknik bermain alat musik ritmis. Keterlibatan siswa dipengaruhi oleh metode pengajaran yang digunakan, di mana metode yang interaktif dan menarik dapat meningkatkan motivasi dan kepuasan siswa. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pembelajaran alat musik ritmis, diperlukan penerapan strategi pembelajaran yang lebih inovatif dan dukungan lingkungan belajar yang positif. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan praktik pendidikan musik di Indonesia, serta mendorong peningkatan kualitas pendidikan seni pertunjukan di masa depan. Learning Process of Rhythmic Instrument in Class XI Vocational High School This research aims to explore learning rhythmic musical instruments based on the Merdeka Curriculum at SMK Negeri 7 Padang, which is a performing arts education institution with a Minangkabau cultural background. The background of the problem includes low mastery of the material and student involvement in the learning process. The research method used is qualitative with an analytical descriptive approach, where researchers conducted observations for four meetings to describe the phenomena that occurred. The results showed that although students showed varied enthusiasm, many of them still had difficulties in understanding the technique of playing rhythmic musical instruments. Student engagement is influenced by the teaching methods used, where interactive and engaging methods can increase student motivation and satisfaction. This study concludes that to improve the effectiveness of learning rhythmic musical instruments, it is necessary to implement more innovative learning strategies and support a positive learning environment. The findings are expected to contribute to the development of music education curriculum and practice in Indonesia, as well as encourage the improvement of the quality of performing arts education in the future. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana proses kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band di SMP Negeri 28 Padang.  Jenis penelitian yang dipakai adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan dibantu dengan alat tulis dan kamera. Data dikumpulkan melalui studi pustaka, observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Langkah-langkah menganalisis data adalah pengumpulan data, menganalisis data, mendeskripsikan data dan menyimpulkan data. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band di SMP Negeri 28 Padang memiliki program kerja jangka pendek, program bulanan dan program tahunan, dengan cara pemilihan pemain dan materi latihan, serta penetapan rencana latihan. Pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band di SMP Negeri 28 Padang meliputi proses latihan alat musik perkusi, latihan alat musik melodis dan latihan gabungan. Drum band pada SMP Negeri 28 Padang ditampilkan untuk kegiatan rutinitas sekolah yaitu penampilan drum band untuk kegiatan upacara bendera yang dilakukan pada setiap senin pagi dan melaksanakan upacara dalam memperingati hari-hari besar lainnya. Evaluasi pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler drum band SMP Negeri 28 Padang dilakukan saat setelah satu buah lagu selesai dibawakan saat latihan dan saat setelah penampilan. Kegiatan evaluasi dilakukan secara menyeluruh dari semua yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ekstralurikuler drum band SMP Negeri 28 Padang. Implementation of Extracurricular Drum Band at Junior High School This study aims to describe the process of drum band extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 28 Padang. Data were collected through literature studies, observations, interviews and documentation. The steps of analysing data are data collection, analysing data, describing data and concluding data. The results of the study show that the implementation of drum band extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 28 Padang has a short-term work programme, a monthly programme and an annual programme, by selecting players and training materials, as well as determining the training plan. The implementation of drum band extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 28 Padang includes the process of practising percussion instruments, practising melodic musical instruments and joint exercises. The drum band at SMP Negeri 28 Padang is displayed for school routine activities, namely drum band performances for flag ceremony activities which are carried out every Monday morning and carry out ceremonies in commemoration of other significant days. The evaluation of the implementation of extracurricular activities of the SMP Negeri 28 Padang drum band was carried out after one finished song was performed during rehearsal and after the performance. The evaluation activity was carried out thoroughly from all those involved in the extracurricular activities of the drum band of SMP Negeri 28 Padang. Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Randai di SMP Negeri 30 Padang. Ekstrakurikuler Randai dipilih sebagai objek penelitian karena merupakan salah satu warisan budaya Minangkabau yang mengandung berbagai elemen seni tradisional. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan informan kunci, informan utama, dan informan tambahan. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Adapun populasi adalah seluruh siswa SMP Negeri 30 Padang dari kelas VII, VIII, IX dan sampel sebanyak 37 siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelaksanaan kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Randai di SMP Negeri 30 Padang mengalami peningkatan yang signifikan. Hal ini disebabkan oleh model pembelajaran dan strategi yang diterapkan oleh guru yang tepat serta dukungan fasilitas yang memadai. Guru telah melaksanakan kegiatan dengan baik, didukung dengan ketersediaan ruangan dan lapangan khusus untuk kegiatan kesenian, yang membuat siswa semakin antusias dalam mengikuti ekstrakurikuler Randai. Berdasarkan temuan penelitian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan ekstrakurikuler Randai di SMP Negeri 30 Padang tergolong baik. Meskipun demikian, terdapat beberapa hal yang perlu diperbaiki untuk lebih meningkatkan minat siswa terhadap ekstrakurikuler ini, baik dari segi materi maupun metode. Randai Extracurricular Activities in Junior High School This study aims to determine and describe the Randai extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 30 Padang. Randai extracurricular activities were chosen as the object of research because it is one of the Minangkabau cultural heritages that contains various traditional art elements. Data were collected through interviews with key informants, main informants, and additional informants. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The population was all students of SMP Negeri 30 Padang from classes VII, VIII, IX and a sample of 37 students. The results showed that the implementation of Randai extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 30 Padang experienced a significant increase. This is due to the learning model and strategies applied by the right teacher and adequate facility support. Teachers have carried out activities well, supported by the availability of special rooms and fields for artistic activities, which makes students more enthusiastic in participating in Randai extracurricular activities. Based on the research findings, it can be concluded that Randai extracurricular activities at SMP Negeri 30 Padang are classified as good. However, there are some things that need to be improved to further increase students' interest in this extracurricular activity, both in terms of material and methods. Abstract

This article aims to describe the experience of teaching and learning music observed by a community service team with cultural art teachers at SMP Negeri 9 Payakumbuh who taught students to learn recorder ensembles using music material using video notation. The video of music notation that is presented to students while studying is a video that displays music notation that is ready to be listened and watched immediately. The video material was made using the noteworthy composer music program. The rationale for the community service team to make a video of music notation for students' recorder learning using this video, is to create a real (real) learning situation, between the practice of playing the recorder that students play with the tone and melody of the song that corresponds to the notation being played, with seen, and heard. While on the part of the teacher as a teacher, they are equipped with a module that provides instructions on using the noteworthy composer music program for making song material, which in the end can be captured in screenshots for the purpose of making a simpler learning video. The results of this activity have shown the students' interest and enthusiasm in learning to practice recording in group music games (ensembles), because the notation that is seen and read is the notation in the video, which when practiced in the ensemble game can be adjusted to the notation that is seen and the sound that is heard.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan mengatahui perkembangan lirik lagu minang Sexri Budiman dalam 1 dekade dari tahun 2010-2020. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif. Instrumen penelitian ini adalah peneliti sendiri dan didukung dengan alat tulis, flashdisk dan kamera. Data yang digunakan terdiri atas data primer dan data sekunder. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi studi kepustakaan, observasi, wawancara, serta dokumentasi. Langkah-langkah menganalisis data adalah pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perkembangan lirik dan musik karya Sexri Budiman selama satu dekade antara 2010 hingga 2020 telah mengalami transformasi yang signifikan yang dilihat dari lagu karya Sexri Budiman yang tidak berkiasan dan lagu yang berkiasan. Lagu yang tidak berkiasan karya Sexri Budiman hanya menceritakan suatu pengalaman pribadi seseorang yang dituangkan ke dalam sebuah lagu. Sedangkan lagu yang berkiasan karya Sexri Budiman mengacu pada cara lirik menggunakan bahasa untuk menyampaikan pesan, emosi, dan suasana melalui musik. Ini melibatkan berbagai teknik dan pilihan bahasa yang membuat lirik lebih menarik dan ekspresif yang tepat dapat membangkitkan perasaan tertentu pada pendengar, seperti simpati, kegembiraan, atau kemarahan. Perkembangan lirik lagu-lagu karya Sexri Budiman diawali dengan lagu tradisional yang sering menggunakan bahasa dan gaya bahasa yang lebih kental, lirik lagu Minang modern mulai memadukan gaya bahasa yang lebih beragam, termasuk elemen dari lagu pop dan klasik, serta penggunaan bahasa sehari-hari. Lirik-lirik ini juga mulai membahas tema-tema yang lebih luas, seperti cinta, perantauan, dan isu-isu sosial. Lirik lagu-lagu karya Sexri Budiman ini juga menjadi media interaksi antara perantau, kampung halaman, dan orang yang ditinggalkan.

Abstract

The Community Service Program (KKN) in Nagari Guguak Malalo aims to examine the role of traditional dance in cultural preservation and the formation of national identity among young people. The implementation method includes participatory observation, dance training, and organizing art performances with local studios. The results show that traditional dance is an effective medium for instilling cultural values, increasing self-confidence, and shaping the identity of the younger generation. The art performance successfully showcased various traditional dances such as Tari Piring and Tari Indang with high enthusiasm from participants. The conclusion is that traditional dance has a vital role in cultural preservation and character building of the nation's children, requiring continuous support from various parties to ensure its sustainability.
