Abstract

Abstract

This article compares the concept of nāsikh–mansūkh in two classical works of Qur’anic sciences: Al-Itqān by al-Suyūṭī and Al-Burhān by az-Zarkashī. Using a textual comparative method, it examines their definitions, criteria, and classification of surahs containing abrogating or abrogated verses. Although both scholars agree that abrogation applies only to legal verses, their mappings differ due to methodological variations. Al-Suyūṭī identifies 43 surahs as free from abrogation, while az-Zarkashī lists only 34, applying a stricter interpretation of verses that remain recited but are no longer practiced. These differences reflect diverse scholarly perspectives rather than contradiction. The study recommends integrating both approaches to develop a more comprehensive understanding of nāsikh–mansūkh.

Abstract

Rice is a major commodity as a source of carbohydrates for the Indonesian people. Efforts to increase rice production have been made by the government, but these have not been matched by optimal harvesting and post-harvest handling, resulting in high yield losses of nearly 10%. Data from the Central Statistics Agency (2024) shows that rice harvest losses reach 9.5% during harvesting and 4.8% during the post-harvest stage, which has the potential to reduce national grain production, currently recorded at around 65 million tonnes of grain. The Tompobulu sub-district, Bantaeng Regency, has around 1,000 hectares of rice fields at an altitude of ±500 metres above sea level with small plots and a terraced pattern. The main problems faced by organic rice farmers in this area are low knowledge of cultivation, organic fertiliser production, and good post-harvest handling. These conditions cause high yield losses, both quantitatively and qualitatively, which do not provide economic incentives for farmers to increase their income. Paddy with high moisture content is also easily damaged and increases yield losses. Appropriate and location-specific post-harvest handling is needed to reduce yield losses and improve grain quality. In areas with narrow land ownership and hilly topography, appropriate technology in the form of power threshers is a suitable solution, as modern harvesting equipment such as combine harvesters cannot operate effectively in terraced rice fields.

Abstract

Funding in a company can be obtained from various investment sources, on of them by issuing Islamic bonds (Sukuk). The announcement of the issuance of sharia bonds can be used as one of the information considerations in investing for investors. This study aims to analyse the capital market reaction to the issuance of Islamic bonds. This study uses event study analysis which is used to determine abnormal returns around the issuance of Islamic bonds, to find out significant differences in average abnormal returns around Islamic bonds issuance and to find out significant differences in trading volume activity around Islamic bonds issuance. The population in this study are all announcements of issuance of sharia bonds listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange for the period 2009-2018 and then re-select companies listed on ISSI as of May 28, 2019. Event study with a window period of 21 days (t-10 to t+10). Sampling uses a purposive sampling criteria technique. Samples obtained were 55 Sukuk issuance which included 12 announcements of Islamic bonds issuance.

Abstract

The heating process is a technique for preserving and processing foodstuffs. One of the methods that can be used is ohmic heating method. Ohmic reactors system today on the less optimal of the ohmic reactor performance so that additional control system is required for the ohmic reactor. The purpose of this research is to produce a fuzzy expert control system in the ohmic reactor to optimalize the performance of the ohmic reactor. This research conducted by creating hardware and software. The test used a salt solution at a concentration of 1%, 2%, 3%, 4% as the test material. Heating is carried out at each solution concentration. The analysis result of the temperature response showed that the fuzzy expert control system in the ohmic reactor is operating well. This can be seen from the overshoot of the solution temperature only at a concentration of 4% of 2 ℃ for 4 seconds while in fuzzy showed an overshoot of 3 ℃ for 2 seconds. In addition, the setting time to reach the setting point was relatively small and the solution temperature was relatively stable. The fuzzy expert and fuzzy control systems have low steady state errors ranging from 1,1% and 2,2%. Meanwhile, the analysis results of the temperature response in the on-off control system do not meet the criteria for the success performance control due to overshoot, unstable solution temperature and large steady state errors in each solution concentrations. The used energy analysis found that the electrical energy used by fuzzy expert control system was 49169,2 Watt.s and fuzzy Sugeno was 45121,5 Watt.s.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the transformation of the Indonesia–Malaysia border region through destination branding strategies based on economic and cross-border tourism potential. Border areas are no longer viewed merely as administrative and security zones, but also as strategic spaces for trade, tourism, cultural interaction, and regional economic growth. This study uses a library research method with a qualitative descriptive approach by analyzing scientific literature, policy documents, and previous studies related to place branding, destination branding, cross-border tourism, borderland development, and regional economic transformation. The findings show that the Indonesia–Malaysia border region has strong potential to be developed as a competitive economic and tourism destination through the utilization of Border Crossing Posts, local superior products, cultural heritage, natural attractions, and cross-border community mobility. However, this potential has not been fully integrated into a coherent destination branding strategy. Therefore, branding must be understood not merely as a promotional tool, but as a regional transformation instrument that connects local identity, economic activities, tourism experiences, digital promotion, and collaborative governance. The study concludes that an integrated branding strategy can strengthen the image of border areas as productive, safe, inclusive, and attractive destinations for tourists, investors, and business actors. This research contributes conceptually to the development of border destination branding studies and practically to policy formulation for sustainable economic and tourism development in the Indonesia–Malaysia border region.
